aww its over...i really really really enjoyed reading this!! it was like all my favorite kind of fics rolled into one....flashbacks to legolas' elfling days...father/son mushiness...'good thranduil'...action/adventure/excitement/intrigue...woo hooo!!! i read the first chapter to your other fic about the mountains, which is why i decided to read this one (and im so glad i did!)...so sorry, you're not rid of me yet...he he he write well and often!!

Author Reply: Thank you, nat. I am go happy that you found all the things that you like in my story. I worked hard to get all of that in, plus humor and, of course, angst. I'm glad the length of it didn't put you off. As for good Thranduil: that's the only way I see him and the only way I would ever write him.

Don't be sorry, I definitely do not want to be rid of you. I look forward to your reviews of "Black Mountain". See you soon.

okay...so mean! ::sniff::sniff:: you made me freakin bawl, man...oh whyyy...

Author Reply: I remember Chapter 21 as containing Legolas's letter to his father. I didn't intend on being mean, I just wanted to bring out that kind of emotion in my readers. Keep going, and you'll continue to see what I mean. :o)

Thanks for the review.

This was a wonderful story, and you have a way with language, as well as lovely style. Despite all my plans and the things I had to do yesterday, once I had started this, I kept creeping back into my room to read further. In the end, I actually forced myself to stay up until 4:30 in the morning, just because I couldn't bear the thought of stopping before I finished.

I'm looking forward to reading Black Mountain, though I'll most likely force myself to wait until it is finished to start. If I couldn't mangage to take many breaks from this one, I don't think I could stand the wait between chapters. ;-)

Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your story with us.

Author Reply: Thank you, Layton Colt for you very kind words. It is thrilling to know you found my story worthy of losing sleep. That is a real compliment.

I will welcome you as a reade/reviewer whenever you decide to join the new story.

You are most welcome. It is people like you, who say such nice things about my writing, that keep me going.

I did at times think the end would never come, but when I saw the epilogue posted I was like O.O "already?!?!?" Would really like to see Estel and Legolas get back at Elladan and Elrohir...Great to see Legolas out and about again especially in the trees again =)

Loved your whole story, even enduring the utter feeling of helplessness a lot of the way through and those cliffhangers of your ;) Will be on the lookout for your next story, hope to see you then =)

Author Reply: At times I wondered myself, if I'd ever get to the end.

I still may write about the revenge on the twins in a later story. I'm not sure yet.

I knew all along that I was going to have a happy ending. I put poor Legolas through so much pain, both physically and mentally, that I had to bring joy back to his life. It's funny. I had the basics of the Epilogue planned long before I had a lot of the other things planned. I knew Legolas would get back to the garden and the trees.

I'm glad you loved the story. If all goes well, I will be posting the new one next week. See you then.

I have only recently discovered fanfiction. Have been avidly reading ever since. This is a great story - and such faithfully detailed characterizations. This is my first review to anyone. I loved every minute of reading but I must learn, a) not to log on during working hours and b) turn off in time to get a semi-decent amount of sleep. Keep up the brilliant work White Wolf and thanks for the 'entertainment'.

Author Reply: I feel honored that you chose my story to review first. I'm sure it won't be long before you are reviewing up a stern.

Thank you for your king words. I try hard to keep the characters faithful to the ones people enjoy reading about in Tolkien's books. Of course, the Legolas-Aragorn friendship is pretty much a creation of fanfiction writers, but that makes it so much fun to write about. We aren't locked into pre-written events.

I hope you don't get into trouble or lose too much sleep. I love reading fanfiction and have a number of stories I'm reading right now.

Thank you again. I hope you will join me for my next story, "Black Mountain". I hope to start posting it next week.

i cant believe that this story is over. Its a really awesome story, with lots and lots of surprises. What will " Black Mountain" be about, or will we have to find out later? Hope to hear from you soon.

Author Reply: Yes, it is over. I can't quite believe it, either. I'm so glad you liked it. I'm also glad I wasn't predictable. Awesome is a wonderful compliment. Thank you.

Since you asked, I'll give you the summary for "Black Mountain".
No one in the history of Middle-earth has ever returned from the mysterious Black Mountain. Now the mountain, silent for centuries, appears to be waking up, and Aragorn thinks its about time that he and Legolas go there and investigate. Elladan and Elrohir join them for the adventure.

I hope that sounded interesting enough to entice you to join me, when I start posting it in another week or two.

(content sigh)Loved it all, from the suspense of Aragorn carrying Legolas into Rivendell to the tear jerking letter Legolas writes to his father, the big death scene, battling Mordraug. All of it Genius, pure Eru given talent-looking forward to the next epic.Huzzah!

Author Reply: A contented reader. That was my goal. I'm so glad you liked the story. You picked out a couple of my favorites: the letter to Thranduil and what I call Legolas's spirit flight (ch. 27). I was also proud of how truly evil I managed to make Mordraug. I just love a good villain, especially when he gets his just deserts.

Genius? You are making me blush. Thank you.

I hope to start posing "Black Mountain" in another week or two. See you then.
