| What a wonderful story. I read Chapter 1 a while ago and thought it was a one-off. Imagine my delight to come across it again and find eight more chapters! I shall keep an eye on developments. | I must first admit to snorking when I read her horse's name, which sounded very familiar. Then it hit me: Windermere is a local real estate company. LOL! Ah, yes, I remember those days, when I would let my horse have its head, and we would glory in flying together. Wonderful feeling of freedom and release from all care. Sort of resembles the feeling this poem evokes: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/highflig.htm For some reason, the bumping scene calls strongly to my mind that bit from While You Were Sleeping when Lucy is in Peter's apartment, calling "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!" and backs into the swinging door, behind which Jack is crouching. No matter how many times I've seen it, I laugh (and wince) every time. Hah. (Faramir's "slow-growing" comprehension) Things are coming along quite nicely. Author Reply: Lindelea! Yeah! Windermere is a very English name. Isn't Lake Windermere in the Lake District? I thought it a very good name for a fleet of foot horse. In thinking about Lothiriel, having grown up with three older brothers and living by the sea as opposed to within Minas Tirith gives scope to the Tomboy idea. And a despairing mother....:-) Thank you for the link to the poem. I have heard snippets of it before but I never knew where it came from! Thank you! Haven't seen "While you were Sleeping" in a while but now that you mention it! LOL Yes!
