What i really loved from this chapter was Frodo's thoughts as he wandered, before finding Gandalf.
'Hobbits were not meant to carry the weight of the world. It was too big and he was too small.'
That was beautiful, so poignant. It says so much of what Frodo goes through. And this is even before they leave Rivendell...
And then...
'The hobbit took one miserable step forward... One step for Merry... For Pippin. ... He would walk for them—his dearest friends... for the Shire... for those who had hope—even though he was not one of them.'

That was just so touching, so telling of Frodo's bravery - and his motivation. He did it all for them, even losing the Shire, as he did in the end.

Wonderful writing!

*Lets out huge sigh of releif* Imagine the joy I felt when Gandalf finally found Frodo! Hooray!

Merry's exercises reminded me of my own physical therapy. Heehee.

I can't wait to see how the slingshot thing plays out. Cheers!
