Out_of_the_Frying_Pan_and_Into_the_Fire  by bryn 5 Review(s)

Hello bryn,

Every chapter so far is delightful.

You have the personalities of the characters spot on - an impressive task for a story which may contain two or three main ones, but even more so considering the sheer amount of people in this story and the various races they stem from. I applaud you.

Tut, tut, Gimli for throwing rocks like a sneaky lad! I'm surprised at the rascal! Wait until his father finds out how dishonourable he was, and under the roof of their gracious Elven host, too (laughs in gleeful anticipation).

May I suggest that in the chapter titled 'Flight from Rivendell' (which was hysterical - the eventual message received by Frodo was priceless) that 'two cents' looks a bit out-of-place? Perhaps 'contribution' or some other non-contemporary word would represent Pippin's eagerness to be included just as well?

I'm loving this story!

*nearly dies of mirth* Oh, this chapter was too funny! Gandalf's slinking, Boromir being 'tricked' into going west...but most of all, the hobbit's misunderstanding. They are really in trouble now.
(No, no!, Gimli, bigger cheese.)

I just had to tell you that I read this story up until this chapter - and was laughing heartily in certain parts.

But I totally lost control with the message that began from Elrond and got to that poor confused fool from the twins and then to Frodo. Just laughed and laughed at the chaos that I could see ensuing from such a mistake.

Thanks for the wails of laughter - still laughing.

OMG!!! LOL!! I have tears coming out of my eyes as the result from Elronds garbled message! Heehee!

It's a mystery why we sometimes wait so long to read a story! I've been eyeing this one for sometime, and just never got around to reading it. Thank you so much for delivering it five chapters at a time!

What a wonderfully creative, fun story! There are so many things going on, I don't even want to guess how 'your' characters *ever* become a Fellowship. I've never seen the cultural and emotional differences of this disparate group highlighted so expertly. I don't know where this is going, and I don't want to guess. I'll just eagerly look forward to chapters 6-10.
