| Haha! Dolgailon is great! And he *can* stand up to the king :)....if not exactly like his father did. :( I'm glad Glilavan is getting another chance. "And I encourage you to do the same, my lord." lol! The elflings are finally getting some answers. And, heaven forbid, a guard! That will put a crimp in their activities, good thing too. Poor Tulus, his confession must have been hard to make. For a moment there I was afraid Legolas wasn't going to forgive him. But he did, like poor Galithil. I'm afraid that there is going to be trouble in the next chapter, and Legolas is going to be in the middle of it. Author Reply: Glilavan and Dolgailon have been friends for a very long time. Dolgailon has been defending him for a very long time. And he really wants him to turn out ok. Tulus too. That will be a pretty central part of the future plot, actually. And Legolas really loves Tulus. They are very good friends. That whole story was really difficult for him to hear. There is going to be trouble and Legolas is really in it deep, you are very right! | Is it a testament to your talent that in your world I care far more for the OCs than for the established ones? exception of Thranduil, of course? I like how you are managing the numb feeling that is surely left after such an overwhelming and unexpected tragedy. Dolgailon is drowning in duty, THrnaduil is trying to go step by step and galithil is so deeply changed he surely wonders if it was so easy on the first place then why on Arda he didn't do it without things going so far as for his parents to die? NOt that he is short of things for which to blame himself at this moment... I liked the idea that Lindomiel had the loom workshop for herslef to mounr Amoneth while Dogailon chose to surrounded himself with children when taking posession of his father's place. And had to laugh at the visual joke of Thrnaduil going out again and checking the number of doors to maek sure that that was actually his brother's office... oly it was no, no longer. Also how his smile faded was a good touch, subtle yet oh so telling. Uff, too hard for all of them to pick up the pieces and keep going. THankfully, Legolas is ready to pick up the naughty-boy routine right where Galithil dropped it. Else, everybody would be sooooooo bored! I'm enjoying this way too much! Certainly easier to write them than Legolas. I'm glad everyone's emotions and various ways of coping are coming off as believable to you. That is hard with a cast this big to not have everyone reacting the same way and let it get formulaic. Legolas is going to learn he doesn't like so much being the naughty one very soon. But he still thinks he's right, so that makes it harder. Thanks so much for the review! I really appreciate them! | |

| This is getting better and better. I thought that Dolgailon knew that Glílavan was not to be trusted, but I guess that they had been friends for so long that he wanted to give him an opportunity, it is true that the King and his brother were a little unfair with them and if Tulus is repented, his son could be saved too, but I doubt it, don't know why. Still, poor Dolgailon, he will need a lot for help from Thranduil... Thranduil missing his brother was very sad, and when I think that he still doesn’t know that his mother is thinking to sail…it will be terrible for all of them. Legolas, he is such a good boy the guilt will eat him after behaving bad, but he is in a bad age, when bad influence is very powerful, I mean, it is so easy to behave bad than to be good. This new Galithil is amazing; he will be an incredible warrior and help to his brother, King and Legolas. Tulus's confession was very touching and Galithil’s reaction too. I can't wait for more updates and to read stories of adults Legolas and Galathil, it will be interesting to see them after the Quest. You're right that this is going to be tough on him before the end. Legolas is going to get in deeper very soon, poor kid. and to read stories of adults Legolas and Galathil, it will be interesting to see them after the Quest. I've been looking over the adult Legolas and Galithil stories during my holiday and I agree, I am looking forward to them too! But as for post Quest stories...well, you are assuming Galithil makes it through to the Quest or to the Fourth Age, aren't you? (How mean was that!) ;-) Thanks so much for the reviews! | Ooh, snap! Personal guards? That should put a crimp in the plans to spy on the warrior training. Of course, Legolas seems to feel he won some freedom too. Thranduil was clever to appoint a guard Legolas regards as a friend. That makes it less likely Legolas will deceive the guard or risk his hide. But, Thranduil, don't you believe for a second that delaying the guard's appearance is going to be okay! What's wrong with you? I like the way Thranduil's memory of replacing his own dead father gives him some insight into Dolgailon's actions. Aradunnon's personality (and relationship with his brother) was quite different than Dolgailon's more tempered style and relationship with his uncle. There will doubtless be tricky moments here too, and look! One comes right away with the appointment of Glilavan. I liked Dolgailon's comment that he was afraid of Langon himself. LOL. But I think Thranduil has a point about how much Galithil needs him. Of course, Dolgailon needs information too. Boo. No easy answer there. As there's no easy judgment to be rendered on Tulus. These subtle situations are good for the boys to think about. I liked the realistic little interactions between the boys: Legolas punching Galithil's arm and teasing him about swimming or calling Thranduil "my lord." I suspect that things might wrong on the "just fetching the cousins" front. Author Reply: Ooh, snap! Personal guards? LOL! Yes, that was a nasty surprise for Legolas and Galithil. It must be really weird to be an elf and to associate with someone for thousands of years and then have to learn to work with someone else. It's hard enough at work for me when I hire new employees after a few years! Thranduil made a good choice with Dolgailon, but it will drive him crazy at times too. Especially since he really loves his brother's oldest son. I like situations with no easy answers. I enjoyed the more fun interactions with the boys too!
