Edhellond Anniversary Drabbles  by Soledad 22 Review(s)
LindeleaReviewed Chapter: 13 on 12/6/2007
A touching scene. How much was lost to him, when she sailed to the West. (I am glad he came eventually to the West himself, to be reunited with her.)

(p.s. as you can see, I came back to re-read, to while away the wee hours while waiting for sleep)

Very nice, a scene I had not contemplated. I like these dwarves, solid as the stone they delve.

The son of the Mariner has chosen what was right for him, and has the proper helapmeet by his side.

Lovely, Soledad.

Author Reply: Thank you. It means a great deal to me that I seem to have reached people with these little things, beyond those for whom they've been written.

Reunions await.

Author Reply: Indeed. ;)

A lord worth the following, then. Alas for Thorin's death, and that of the two younger Dwarves as well.

Author Reply: True. Thorin could be a pompous *** sometimes, but deep in his heart, he was a good guy. And I always loved Fíli and Kíli a great deal. Such a shame that they had to die.

How like Morgoth to institute his own form of kinstrife through the corruption of Elves into Orcs. Alas, and I am glad that this one was able to recognize the kinship and call to it as is right and proper, hopefully bringing a break in this one from Morgoth's power.

Author Reply: It's established in "Astonishment in Mirkwood" that the Avari took this kinfolk back home with them. These first and second generation Orcs weren't quite the same as their descendants in the later Ages, so - in my little corner of the Ardaverse, at least - they were able to live out their (now mortal) lives in some semblance of peace.

Those who fight Balrogs do seem to be sent back to continue the fight, and to offer counsel and guidance as others are able to receive them.

Lovely.

Author Reply: That's what the poor Elf got for being a hero. I sometimes wonder if he ever regretted.

Thanks for reading and commenting. The muse appreciates the fuel, so that she could work up enough energy for the next big step: the Advent Calendar.

Nicely done.

I have always found Glorfindel fascinating.

Author Reply: Yeah, me, too. :)
