Those who torture in the name of mercy are so difficult to understand! But they do exist, and are so certain they are doing right!

Author Reply: Aren't they always? Haradrim are great to write, but I don't think I'd like to live among them.

Very sweet as our Radagast fulfills one of his earliest responsibilities.

Elves came to see so much grief, and so much joy as well. This one already knows the feelings of melancholy, although he's but a child?

Nicely done.

Author Reply: Thanks. :)

Radagast is such a loveable charcter - despite being a Maia in disguise, so very simple and down-to-Erth.

As for Lindir's early grief, he has a recurring dream that frightens him a lot, as showed in "Wilwarin".

Interesting ponderings, and very likely ones.

It is lovely ever to think of Halbarad having had a family. How wonderful and sad a farewell. Apparently some of the Dunedain foresight rests in his wife.

Author Reply: Halbarad rocks, doesn't he? I really ought to finish "Hope, Born in Darkness" one day.

Oh, so wonderful if Gimli had indeed married and left a child within Middle Earth!

Author Reply: And wouldn't it be a crying shame if his line didn't continue?

So, I've given Legolas a brother, and you a sister. Poor ellyth! And the Sea Longing took her earlier than it did Legolas, at least. But this would indeed be a double grief to Thranduil, so close on the loss of his father and so many of their folk.

Author Reply: Actually, I gave Legolas three brothers and two sisters - not many of them remaned, though. And I thought it would be a bit unbelievable that nobody else would get the Sea-longing,

And when they realize the Dwarves have escaped with the missing barrels, and the place is no longer being endlessly burgled by the same invisible hand? Heh! Glad he likes Galion so.

Author Reply: Galion is eminently likeable. But I think the Captain of the Guard can expect some thorough tongue-lashing. *g*

Ah, how wonderful, Soledad! I have this gift given Legolas and Gimli both from early on; but this would be marvelous as well.

Yes, let them journey together one last time, Elf and Dwarf.

Author Reply: For me, theirs is the ultimate friendship. The most true one I've ever read in any fantasy book.

I hadn't thought of Gimli marrying and having children before he sailed to the West... somehow comforting to contemplate. And loved the strong grasp and beetle-black eyes! *g* (Forgot to notice if it was a boy or a girl. Will have to go back and read again to see if you said.)

Author Reply: Actually, there's currently a poll running on the Axe&Bow list what the gender of the baby should be... not that it would be very helpful, but at least it is fun. *g*

As for Gimli's marriage, the wedding is showed in grand detail in my other story, "A Dwarven Yuletide". It's archived here, in case you're interested.

Tender, sweet, a little sad as we know what they only suspect. I wonder just when it was that Halbarad knew with certainty that his death lay before him.

Author Reply: I wonder about it, too. As I have a soft spot for minor characters, I always loved Halbarad a great deal... even before Boz4PM gifted "Don't Panic!" upon us. :)

I'm glad you liked the snippet, and thanks for taking the time to review.
