| You took what was a odviously a painful experience for you, and your mother and put it into a story which can serve to help others. I am very proud of you. | Ah, a most proper resolution to a most difficult problem--accepting the loss of that which has given us the most fulfillment through the loss of a beloved family member. And Estel himself is able to rejoice because his mother holds on and is able at last to embrace hope--and Hope--once more. Author Reply: Thanks, Larner. I'm glad you think the resolution is proper. There's no way I could write *too* happy of an ending because Gilraen still has so much to work through. But at the same time, I wanted to leave the House of Elrond basking in a glimmer of hope. | I like the way that Gilraen and Elladan help each other. I hope things are looking brighter. Author Reply: It's interesting that people going through similar emotions can help each other in a way that no one else can. Gilraen and Elladan have certainly been at odds, but as it turns out, they're really good for one another. At least they're both laughing a bit now . . . and talking! It's an improvement, no? | At least they got to her in time. Healing will come, but it is difficult in such cases. Author Reply: Gilraen is so often left out of young Estel stories altogether that you'd think she really did die when her son was a child (and, of course, there are myriad AUs in which she does die when Aragorn is still a boy). But, yes, healing is on its way for Gilraen. It will be a slow and painful process, but it's coming. Thanks again, Larner. Allee | |
