You posted this so quickly that I hadn't got around to reviewing the last chapter.
Loved the interaction with Glorfindel the most and the reflection on Earendil and Elrond.
And I hope this lovely conversation isn't going to come between the twins.

Author Reply: Well, I actually had written the last two chapters as one and then broke it into two shorter chapters. The next one won't be out so quickly as I haven't even started it yet.

I did enjoy writing the scenes with Glorfindel, and the conversation about Earendil and Elrond kind of wrote itself once I started. As to whether this will come between the twins in any way... we'll just have to wait and see.

Wonderful update

can't wait for the next one

Author Reply: I'm glad you're enjoying this. I just posted the next chapter. Quick enough? ;) The next one won't be out so quickly, sorry.

Oh, I like how you've listed the chapters here keeping track of which is who! great idea! And a great story so far! I'm caught up and looking forward to more! I am very interested to see how this all comes to completion and finding out just WHO sent them back to begin with and why!

Author Reply: Yes, I decided it would really help people keep track of things better. I should rename the chapters on ff.net to match. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I do at least have most of the rest of the story planned out, while playing with a few details along the way. :) It will all be told...eventually. *eg*

I like this chapter a lot. It was a great treat to see Bilbo and Thorin and Company again. The television show The Hobbit was one of my favorites when
I was little and this chapter reminded me of it.

I hope you'll let Fili and Kili live.

Author Reply: I'm glad you liked it. I knew I would have to cover the events of the Hobbit, but without Aragorn/Eradan changing anything enough to interfere with Bilbo finding the Ring. That was a careful line to walk, both as a writer and for the characters. As for Fili and Kili, I haven't decided yet. I'll probably mention their fate in the next chapter dealing with Aragorn's storyline. (As long as it fits in with the rest of the chapter.)

Ha, I knew that Elrond would figure it out sooner or later. It is good that Aragorn did not go with taking the ring to mordor himself. Very tough knowing what is going to happen, and not changing things.

Author Reply: Yes, I figure Elrond had been watching him for awhile, and just decided the time was right to confront him about all the odd things he had noticed. It wasn't until he knew that Elrohir and Gandalf knew the secret that he thought he could trust Eradan even if he didn't know the secret himself. And no matter how much Aragorn wanted to destroy the Ring and spare people he loved, he finally decided that it would be far too risky. His life in this time is a very difficult one, indeed.

This just gets better and better. The foresight that convinced Aragorn to let events unfold as in the original was frighteningly convincing and very well done, as were the further revelations to Elrohir. Your handling of this very complex scenario is riveting. Can't wait for more - and beginning to get very curious about Arwen's arrival!

Author Reply: Thanks. The foresight/nightmare had to be extreme enough to convince Aragorn not to attempt to destroy the Ring himself. I'm glad it came off well. And the further revelations to Elrohir were largely Elrohir's idea. lol I didn't plan to write it that way, it was one of those scenes that just wrote itself. As for Arwen... well, I do have plans for that storyline. *eg*

See it is a good thing that Aragorn and Elrohir have talked things over, now Aragorn has someone to talk too, just as long as he does not give away anything that might happen. (my period seems to be sticking to the button below it on my keyboard, hmmmmmmmm)
Love the hunt for a new name for Aragorn the little!

Author Reply: Yes, I think it is a good thing for Aragorn to have Elrohir know who he is. He really did need someone closer to him to share his secrets with. Now he only has to watch how much he says around him. ;) And I did have fun writing the name hunting scene. lol No one seemed to think Estel was a proper name for Aragorn this time around. *g*

Well worth the wait, Misty. Glad to see that Aragorn finally has someone to share his burdens when Gandalf isn't there. He really needed to have someone and Elrohir is the perfect person for the role of confidant. Also happy to see the Twins beginning to think of Eradan as a brother and now Elrohir knows him as one in truth. Can't wait to see how this all plays out and whether the purpose behind it is benign or sinister.

Author Reply: Thanks. Yes, Elrohir insisted on being the next to find out about Eradan's secrets. I couldn't think of a more perfect confidante and friend, so I went along with his idea. :) Aragorn really did need the support of his brothers, and I did enjoy writing the scenes between them.

I am glad that the two of them have clarified things just a little. This is a wonderfully complicated tale Misty. Avidly looking forward to more.

Author Reply: LOL Yes, complicated is a good word for it. I sometimes feel like I'm stumbling around in the dark on this story, trying to figure out how each and every change will trickle down into the course of history. But I'm glad you're enjoying it. I do know what is happening at the end of the story, but am still working out some of the middle sections. I do think Elrohir will be a good ally for Eradan in this, and the elf just insisted on finding out the secret.
