The interlude with Sam and Rosie, Gimli and Elanor was a good break from the tension. It was also nice to see Thranduil show a little sensitivity. TF
Author Reply: The interlude was somewhat unnecessary, but I needed to give the characters and the tension a break. I also needed to give myself a break, because when I wrote that chapter, I was into some very tense moments in my other stories and the cumulative tension was draining. So my solution was to write this interlude. Like I said, unnecessary for the story, but definitely necessary for the author. |
