The Redemption of Meriadoc   by Aelfgifu 16 Review(s)

This blamed ring certainly works fast at corrupting folks. I'd never expect Sam to use a knife on Broga, myself.

And Saruman will dress Frodo as a princeling, will he? Interesting.

My, it DOES have a hold, doesn't it? Ah, Frodo, you will learn, all too soon.

At least Sam, Aragorn, and Pippin are now on the same quest. And I'm certain Merry has at last begun to redeem himself.

That Grimbold is Boromir's man is a surprise, and not a pleasant one, I fear. However, the intrigue continues to grow.

I do not get the feeling Scur was cut out for his current position. Too blamed simple and too blamed caring in spite of himself. Hope he helps Frodo and Merry escape, and soon!

Good interaction between the other three, also. That Ring--the one object that exists only in our hearts and on paper that we all loathe pretty equally!

Author Reply: thanks for the reviews! I have rather a soft spot for Scur, I'm afraid!

So: it appears the "breaking" of Frodo is intended to prepare him for domination by the Wraiths--perhaps a different form of the Morgul wound?

Ah, Merry and Frodo off in one direction, and Strider facing one of the Nazgul in another, and three men terrified at the thought of a disappointed wizard too likely to take out his anger on them. Lovely predicamate.

Bless Strider and Pippin; and Frodo can begin to dissemble appropriately. Hope for the five of them.

Regaining Frodo's trust will take a great deal, but good to see Frodo beginning to waken again.

And nice to see that Pippin is thinking. Hate to see Sam being taken by the Ring.

It appears redemption and forgiveness come, but to where have two Hobbits disappeared NOW?

I read this last week, but the connection wouldn't support me leaving a review.

Nice to see this Merry getting his due, but hate to see him broken to his true self in such a manner. And I agree, Frodo's response is interesting.

And am glad to see finally a meeting long overdue as Strider finally meets Pippin and Sam, and reveals where poor Fredegar has gotten off to. Still want to learn HOW he ended up there outside Rivendell.
