Okay, NOW Panic!  by Boz4PM 2 Review(s)
DreamflowerReviewed Chapter: 16 on 12/28/2005
Wow, a whole 'nother bout of culture shock for Penny. Not so dire as Bree, not so overwhelming as Rivendell, but just as difficult in its own way--it has to feel very strange to find herself once more among humans, and yet unable to communicate with them.

She is going to appear quite an anomaly to the people of Rohan and to Gondor--obviously human, yet only able to communicate with the Elves.

She really should have paid more attention to those Westron lessons.

Indeed. As becomes brutally clear in the next chapter. *cackles evilly* Seriously, though, she is no linguist and Rhimlath and Erestor bickering all the way from Lothlorien didn't help matters, so it was not a case of 'not paying attention' so much as 'making little headway due to ability/circumstances'. But then I do so love landing Penny in it up to her neck (as you will see from chapter 17...)

LindeleaReviewed Chapter: 16 on 12/28/2005
I figured Lindir would have to be married, after what you said earlier about Elves marrying young... and he's been around long enough to garner fame, after all.

A fascinating chapter, and at the end, very sobering.

Well done, as always. Intricate description that never becomes tedious. Very realistic reactions. Am interested to know what happens next, and if Pen-ii ever does get to see the inside of the Hall, or whatever it's called. (Sorry, bad cold, on my way back to bed now.)
