A Shire Sketchbook  by Baggins Babe 375 Review(s)
Linda HoylandReviewed Chapter: 21 on 6/25/2014
This was just adorable and reminds me of my kitten, Harry and old cat Leo, save that it is Harry who tries to wash Leo! You certainly understand cats well. Frodo is blessed with this lovable pair.

I needed some sweet hobbity gentleness this evening, and sought out Rufus and his Bag End family. I love your stories so much.

Author Reply: hello Shirebound, Glad I can help by providing the sweet hobbity gentleness so necessary. I still seek out your stories when in need of the same.

Can't access my yahoo e-mail at present and can't seem to report the problem without going round in circles! *sigh* I'm a non-person as far as they're concerned since I started using the new computer. May have to open a whole new account!

Your Shire Sketchbook is one of my 'go to' places when I need comfort, warmth, and loving gentleness. *happy sigh*

I just wanted you to know that I still read these stories, I still love them, and I'm so happy you wrote them.

Why do I get the feeling Frodo enjoys it to see the others so curious and not telling them what he has planned, leaving them squirming? It's something I always loved about your Reunion verse – to see him so happy and mischievous again!

How sweet of Merry and Pippin to come early and help with the harvest!

Ooh – that was what Frodo was trying to find out? What a wonderful idea! It's the first time I see a story where someone finds the Entwives. Of course, now I want another story where Treebeard gets the news, and maybe the Ents meet the Entwives again! They would be so happy!

That was lovely! What a honour, to meet the Lady Yavanna! I doubt there are any mortals who ever saw one of the Valar, and even for the Elves this wouldn't be a frequent occurence. So it is so much more amazing. And if anyone deserves it, then Frodo and Sam.

I, too, have wondered about that distantly seen figure and its report! Yes, trust Frodo to remember it and to go seeking them, hopefully reuniting them with the Ents at last!

Author Reply: That particular plot bunny has been nibbling my ankles for months and I finally had to deal with it!

The sequel to this is mentioned in the next chapter of 'A Realm Regained' which should be up soon. :-)

Oh, how wonderful an addition to your-verse! Yes, I do believe Yavanna would love to visit and bless that garden in particular! And the niphredil bloomed there afterwards? Yes! A holy place in the midst of those who were blessed!

Author Reply: Glad you found this one, Larner. I think Yavanna would have enjoyed a visit to that garden, to honour our two beloved Ringbearers.

This is indeed an intriguing idea - what if an Entwife had been seen? That would be wonderful if they and the Ents could reunite! *hugs Frodo for thinking of it*

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I've always wanted to re-unite the Ents and their wives, and I also wanted to show that Frodo was responsible for a lot of the healing of Middle-earth by remaining.

Glad you enjoyed.

What a sweet gift given to our hobbits!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I suspect that Yavanna was intrigued by Olorin's stories about the Ringbearers and paid them a visit. They deserve the gift.
