Oh, dear--cheaper by the dozen? Does Pippin realize just what he's gotten himself in for?

Lovely epilogue!

Author Reply: LOL, not yet! I think they'll compromise somewhere in the middle. As I flesh out their marriage in my head, we'll see just how many they really have. ;-) Thank you so much for reading Courtship! :-)

Lovely and fitting, and I'll admit I was hoping those following behind were clad in green or grey. YAY for Aragorn's kindred in the North! Way to go!

Thanks for such a lovely story.

Author Reply: LOL, thank *you*! It took me all week to choreograph that part, and the Dunedain were a natural part of it. Thank you for all your wonderul reviews and encouragement.

Bravo!! Bravo!! Bravo!! Bravisimo!!!

Wonderful, wonderful and more wonderful. *SIGH* And they live happily ever after :)

Thank you so much for this wonderful story.

Author Reply: Thank you! Well...somewhat Happy Everafter...but that's for another tale. ;-) And thank you for all the lovely reviews!

Author Reply: LOL, I couldn't have P&D completely smooth sailing, now could I?

Twelve????? LOL Twelve tiny Took children with Pippin's blood and Pippin's curiousity and Pippin's sense of adventure! The future Thain and his lovely bride to be had been have plenty of help around the smial if they plan to keep up with that many little Pip's in training. Again, a wonderful story!

Author Reply: LOL, I think there will be more of a compromise in that area--especially after she has her first one and finds out first hand just how much blood, sweat, and tears go into a child! LOL, I think those two will need help after the first two or *three*--that is, if any of their offspring are as mischievous and inquisitive as their father! Thank you again for reading Courtship!

Well worth waiting for! Bravo! This was simply perfect. I loved Merry and Pippin's unspoken conversations in Bree and how prepared they were for trouble. I also liked the way that they worried for Berilac because he'd bot experienced something like that before. Diamond was so sweet in all of this. A perfect romance! You've done it again! But now, what am I going to read? LOL I will save this one to my favorites and read it again and again and.....

Author Reply: LOL, I know what *I'm* going to read tomorrow at lunch...hint, hint.

I wanted this chapter to be perfect--so I took my time. Struggled a bit over the waylaying in the road, trying to figure out a distinct feature about the Rangers so that Pippin could readily identify them...and then writing the meeting of two young hobbits that are meant for each other without going too far over the top. LOL, I think I got it okay. :-) Don't worry--I think I did fine, but I have this thing about patting myself on the back in public.

Thank you so much for all your encouragement--it means a lot to me, and your friendship, and your lovely thoughts on this tale. I'd say don't be a stranger, but after last weekend, I know we won't! Thank you for reading Courtship...

So cute, the two of them bundled up and making out, but not too much because of *course* the door is open...

The only thing wrong with this chapter are the two words at the bottom: "The End"; I always hate to see that on a story that I'm enjoying as much as I've enjoyed this one!

Thanks for this lovely, lovely story!

Author Reply: Yes, that dratted door! LOL, we have to keep the mysteries a mystery, don't we? Kissing and snuggling is about as far as any of my unmarried hobbits will go--except for that one AU instance.

I'm sorry that I had to add those irritating words; you know, I seem to dislike them just as much when they're at the end of *your* tales, too! Thank you again for reading Courtship!

Such an exciting chapter! And both the young lovers turned out to be right in their predictions, LOL! I think that each of them would rather not have been right!

I liked the way Merry, Pippin and Freddy worked together, while Beri was not quite in sync. Yet his heart was in the right place. I did have a hunch that the "cloaked figures" following them were Rangers, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I did worry a bit when they were waylaid.

And Pippin's proposal was so very sweet and romantic! A mithril and diamond ring--spectacular!

*sigh* only one more chapter...

Author Reply: The "predictions" were what extended my "original" ending, lol! You are definitely a perceptive reader--or else you know my hobbits as well as I do!

I had this huge backstory to my Berilac but then realized I was carrying it a bit too far in a Pippin & Diamond tale...lol, I'll save it for another story. While I don't see Berilac as having the same level of experience as Pippin, Freddy, or Merry, he does have heart--and I think your Berilac does, too. I write him and Merry as being at odds as children, but only because they misunderstood one another. But as adults, or even tweens, they rise above all that and become very good friends.

LOL, glad to see I kept you on your toes about the Rangers! I thought I was being discreet about it all, but it seems we also think alike in many respects. :-) I had to re-read At the Sign of the Prancing Pony to do research on what they wore. I was going to write that they wore an emblem like Aragorn did, but after the research I learned that the one *he* wore was only for the Chieftain of the Rangers.

I wanted to surprise everyone with Diamond's betrothal gift--don't know how orignal that was (highly doubt it), but I liked it--and I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-)

I thank you so much for being a faithful reader--and for all you wonderful encouragement...and for being very dear friend. :-)

Awww! That was sweet. Guess they'll have to compromise on the children and have eight.:)

This was so sweet. I'm going to miss looking for updates to it. Hope you have some other things in the works.

Thanks again.

Garnet Took.

Author Reply: Oh, yeah...lol, they're going to have children all right...we'll have to wait and see how many. ;-) Yes, I'm already working on a tale for Hobbit Tales...so I'm not going away at all. I'm like a bad rash--you can't get rid of me that easily. ;-) See you round!

I was so happy to come home from a LOTR get-together and see this update.

I think I have the perfect Yule gift idea for Pippin and Diamond. Protective goggles. They both seem prone to getting hit in the eye.:)

Great chapter. The suspence on the road was great. Also, thank heaven for Pim. She was able to bring Diamond back down to earth and help her see that he still loved her.

A diamond ring for betrothal, how perfect.

Thanks for such a sweet story.

Garnet Took.

Author Reply: Hullo, Garnet and welcome to Stories Of Arda! I will miss Connie B. from chapters and stories past, but I shall look forward to all of Garnet's lovely tales as you post them. :-)

LOL...yeah, goggles would be nice! I was hoping the East Road thing would work out...I was working on that bit all week. Pim and Diamond (and the one-legged dwarf) was the humorous part I was referring to last week. Oh, the tangled webs we weave! But yes, Pim is *the* bossy sister with a heart of gold.

LOL, a diamond for a Diamond! How could I do anything else? ;-) And thank *you* for all your faithful reading! Dont' be a stranger.
