| What a cute poem! I forgot to mention in the earlier chapter that I loved the phrase "brother of the heart". And Paladin and Eglantine as Merry's second parents sounds just right. Paladin is so wise and observant. I'm glad he noticed that things were not quite right. Uh-oh. This stiff neck does not sound good! Author Reply: I seem to always link my stories together and I did write a story called "Brothers of the Heart" so it seemed just right to use the phrase here too. I think Paladin is almost as good a father towards Merry as Saradoc is and isnce Pippin and Merry spend so much time at the other one`s home they both get a second set of parents. And that stiff neck? Poor Merry, he is in for some more trouble now... :) | |

Merry seems to be getting better,he had a bath to stop him itching. something changes and suddenly the tempeture is up again. His uncle stays up with him,and in the morning his Aunt notices Merry in pain as his neck hurts. A healer is searched out as everyone waits, Pippin tells a story to Merry,to try and help Merry... Love it...Please continue... | |

| Oh dear! Poor Merry and poor Pippin! Complications--somehow I knew there would be complications! I hope Frodo gets there soon... Pippin is just so sweet in this; I just want to cuddle him up, poor little thing, so worried about his Merry. And I loved the bit where Merry didn't want Eglantine to give him his bath. | OMG, poor Merry! I thought he was on the mend already, but now it's really getting serious. Let's hope the healer arrives soon! And what's that about Frodo? I'm counting on him to arrive soon and healthy to give Merry (and Pippin) some comfort. Special thanks to Melilot Hill for the wonderful rhyme!
