i JUST DISCOVERED THIS STORY. i HAVE YOU ON AUTHOR NOTIFICATION AND FOLLOWED A LINK FROM YOUR NEWEST ONE TO THIS. This is lovely. Lyrical, shining descriptions full of warm light. You wonderfully capture their thoughts and emotions. I enjoyed all four chapters very much.

Author Reply: I'm very happy you decided to have a look at this story as well, since it is very dear to me. And I'm even happier to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

You make me cry with that beautiful ending! I don't know how you do it, how you can make one long look into each other's eyes such a fascinating moment, such an intense experience. Yes, you've already guessed it, that look Frodo and Pip shared was my favourite scene, the way you described them opening up to each other and showing each other what was on their minds. Wonderful!

Sorry for not reviewing for so long...but I did start now and I'll try to catch up with all your updates I missed.

Author Reply: I love that last look Frodo and Pippin share as well. It took me a lot of time to descripe it but I am really happy with the outcome. I'm very glad you liked it.

I really loved your story Lily. Too many bits to mention now but your Pippin is great. And thank you for putting the scene between Gandalf and Merry and Pippin into words. You are the first that I have seen do so and I found the reactions of the two hobbits to be very realistic.

Author Reply: Thanks a lot!
The scene with Gandalf took me a long time to write. I felt that it needed to be shown and yet I was not quite sure how to do that. I'm glad you found it believable.

These have been lovely. I like the way you have Pippin realizing that Frodo must find his healing elsewhere, and understanding finally that is the way it must be.
So hard, so sad, for them to lose their cousin--yet comforting to know that all will finally be well for him.

Author Reply: This has been a very difficult moment to write, especially since I can barely imagine how hard it must be for them to lose their cousin the way they did. I'm glad you like the outcome, though.

Yes, this is the reality of dealing with PTSD, of knowing that kind of scouring from the inside out.

A gentle and necessary look at what Frodo went through, and the youngest's reaction to it.

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed it.

*sniff* Lovely...you have done a great job of writing from Pippin's p.o.v. The part where he's teasing the unconscious Sam about his birthday was cute and unexpected.

Very wonderful, keep it up.

I'm just speechless at how utterly beautiful this is, Lily!

"And there was Frodo, ebony curls shimmering in the sparkling sunlight and in his eyes there was joy. A great burden was taken from Pippin's heart and amidst his tears he began to laugh"

This story is especially meaningful because it's from Pippin's point of view -- and we learn as much about Pippin as we do about Frodo. Well done, my friend. This was wonderful. The Light shines through every facet of this jewel of a story.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! You couldn't have found any words that would have made me happier than what you just said. This story is very dear to me, especially because it deals with Pippin and Frodo - my two favourite hobbits, and I'm glad I have been able to share my picture of the two of them.

Beautiful final chapter! I love how Frodo and Pippin's bond is so great that they don't need words. I especially love how Pippin thinks about how Frodo has not regained his former strength and happiness, and that by going west he would be healed. You really show a mature Pippin here who can be friends with Frodo and not just a baby cousin. Great work, Lily! :)

Author Reply: Thanks a lot! I wanted to show that Pippin was not only a silly billy but also a thoughtful and mature young hobbit. I'm glad you liked it.

Wow! I'm speechless! That was beautiful!

I will always remember that smile! When I first saw it watching "The Return of the King", it washed away my last doubts and I thought, he will be healed, and I smiled back :)

Author Reply: It was the same with me. I still can't do else but smile back when I watch that scene. I'm very glad you enjoyed this.

Oh this is very lovely...I like to see the relationship between the hobbits deepened. It must be quite interesting to see all of someone through their eyes. Eyes are windows to the soul, especially Frodo's.....

Author Reply: Eyes certainly are windows to the sould. Other people's eyes are very important to me which is probably why they are often mentioned in my stories :)
