Recovery in Rivendell  by Budgielover 8 Review(s)

Now I do worry about Pippin. His injury seems to be quite grave. It's all the more fortunate that the entire incident occured within Elrond's realm. I hope he will help the poor Hobbit, and quickly.

At last, they're reunited! And Pippin is soon to be in Elrond's healing hands! Thank goodness. I had been worried that something else might befall the travelers before reaching the safety of The Last Homely House. I have much faith in Elrond's healing abilities, but I hope it won't be a long, arduous recovery. Pippin has been through so much already!

I bet they were all overjoyed to see each other again! I'm glad Pippin didn't need to try and fight off anyone in his state! At least they are almost back to Imladris! I hope Pippin's sight returns, how terrible! Looking forward to more, thank you!

Phew!!! I was hoping it was the other Hobbits coming.
Not knowing a thing about horses I have to ask does the burnt sugar method thingy really work?
I love the way the hobbits band together around each other when one of them is hurt!
Thanks so much for a wonderful story!!

Author Reply: Hi Tetshira! Thank you for the review. To answer your question, I don't really know if the sugar trick would work. I was told about it by a 'horsey' person who said it would, but I would hate to be stranded in the Wild and have to try it out. I, too, love writing the hobbits supporting each other - they share a closeness that so many of us would like to have and so few do.

This chapter and the one before it are wonderful. This story just keeps getting better with each new chapter. Keep them coming.

Ah, lovely reunion. Evocative descriptions, as usual. I especially liked this turn of phrase: "began to walk as smoothly as the wind over grass"

I only wish my horse had been as intelligent and pleasant as your horses!

Budgielover,

Another cliffhanger! How wonderful the love of hobbits! Not only does it fill and surround them, it touches all of good heart who come to know them. I love your elven horses and their ability to understand. I will wait patiently, good writing takes time, but know that I am waiting.

SUCH a wonderful chapter! Brave Pippin, and gentle, compassionate Aragorn, and that AMAZING horse, and the hobbits nearly unable to bear up under their relief and shock. Oh, I loved every bit of it! And of course, things like this...

"Displaced from hugging his little cousin, Frodo wrapped his arms around Pippin’s knees, as if to keep the tweenager from going anyplace else."
