Oh, Pippin

The two of them always seem to comfort each other best. You do these hobbit very well and I am enjoying this very much. I am wondering how Merry will react once he is able to see Frodo and Sam and realizes the things that they have gone through. At least he and Pippin are on the road to recovery.

Tenacity... very "Merry" indeed.

The tension kept building through the chapter and I wanted to scream, "FEED THE HOBBIT!"

So glad you did feed him at last. We're all feeling a bit better now.

Very bittersweet ending.

Looking forward to more.

Author Reply: Sorry for all the suspense. I'm glad you stuck through to the end :)

I thought I would give you a bit of the extended version of chapter seven. I wrote this for the scene where Legolas is briefing Aragorn and then ended up cutting it.

"He seems to be feeling better. He was asking about breakfast." Legolas informed Aragorn.

"What?!" The ranger looked at Legolas, feigning horror. "A hobbit was asking for food and you didn't feed him immediately?" Aragorn backed away from the elf. "We are not in the habit of torturing our friends here, Legolas." Turning his head slightly, he winked at Merry. "I want you to go get him some food immediately, and we'll speak more on this later." Turning his back on Legolas, he moved over to Merry's cot.

I loved that bit, with Aragorn driving poor Merry nuts. It's so in character for that hobbit.
Wonderful Pip/Merry interaction, comfort and worry for each other. More soon, please!

Author Reply: Thanks, Topaz. I'm working on chapter eight and it should be ready to go next week. :)
