I like how its coming along! Oh yeah I have been meaning to ask you, I am looking for suggestions for my first story based on Elladan and Elrohir, and I'd really appreciate it if you could help to spread the word! I'd also like to offer a topic for one of your stories, what if it were possible for elves to get sick,or there was a toxin that could make them fall victim to illness? Please reply!! Thanks!!

Author Reply: Thanks, Silvertree! I think I only wrote about Elladan and Elrohir in this story, and "By Chance or Purpose". You might want to contact the moderator of this site, Nilmandra, who's truly the "elf expert"! She might have some ideas for you about the twins. (And thank you for the story idea. You never know where they might lead!)

Exceptional. That is the only word I can use to describe this story. This was one of those tales that I couldn't put down - once I finished one chapter, I had to move on to the next one. The idea of Saruman wanting to forge a new Great Ring was a fantastic plot device. The only thing that bothered me was that now I have to wait for a new chapter. The angst! All in all, though, a job well done.

So it's Frodo's mind to Merry's mind using Narya. I also used that ring in my story but I have never thought of using it the way you did. Very interesting. I wonder it we can think of other use of it.

Another great chapter. I really liked Gandalf praising Pippin's 'abilities.' Will we see more of these 'abilities?'

Most lovely chapter, shirebound! I'm sorry it ended so soon. The part of Galadriel moving Pippin to his cot...so sweet. Good things come to those who wait (semi-patiently!), so I'm waiting for the next chapter. Thanks again for sharing. :-)

OO I am so enjoying this story. It combines my two favourite elves Elladan and Elrohir with the other wonderul characters from LOTR. :: sighs in complete and utter happiness:: The tension you have built within the storyline is almost tangible and I'm wallowing in the wonderful angst!

This is brilliant, please continue.

I am so in awe of the way you have constructed this story. It is an idea I have never seen done before.

Now you'd better duck before I come after you with a frying pan for leaving us with that cliffie!

But Gandalf,” she said, troubled, “the strength Elrond and I channel into Frodo will be temporary. When withdrawn, it may be that his efforts to guide Merry back to us will cause him to be even weaker than he is now.”

Hmm . . . a little warning of further angst and comfort to come? I can't wait to see what happens between Frodo and Merry. Your scenes of Aragorn calling back Frodo from the depths are some of my favorite lines in all of fan fictdom.

You go, Shirebound! Please keep this story going . . . I need hobbits desperately in my life! This story is better than vitamins . . . better than champagne . . . right up there with lembas and warm milk. Thanks for all your hard work.

Ah, nice to see there is a way to call Merry back (lovely Merry-angst, and Pip-angst, and Sam-angst, poor tired Sam, and...) but not without danger to Frodo, it seems. Are we in for a hefty dose of Frodo-angst in the near future?

Your Elladan sounds altogether like one of my Tooks!
“Elladan is much better, Frodo,” Elrohir said, coming to join them. “Several ribs are broken, but Elves heal very quickly. He is awake, and already impatient with being bedridden for just these few hours.

Perhaps he shall have to become an honorary hobbit like Legolas and Gimli...

As always, looking forward to more.

I like the way you show the twins in this story, how protective Elrohir is of Elladan, and able to feel his pain. I loved how eager he was to remove Saruman's finger to get the ring off! Things still sound bad for Frodo and Merry, though.
