Life is What Happens  by Pervinca 16 Review(s)
powerwriterReviewed Chapter: Epilogue on 4/7/2004
Oh, no. It's over! But, over in a very good way :) It was cute that Merry was the -only- one who didn't know about Sam and Pervinca. You'd think that he'd know everything going on. Was the vision that Pervinca saw in another chapter that I missed? I thought that I had caught up with all the chapters I didn't read in the beginning. I liked the concept of the vision though. I'm glad I read this story, because the first time I read the scenario, I wasn't but did anyway! Very good work :)

Author Reply: How much do I love it when you read my stories! It's so exciting getting review alerts :P I'm really glad you enjoyed it, especially the little Merry situation. I always think of Merry being pretty smart, but you have to admit, that Pervinca and Sam being together is not something that would readily spring to mind, even with the many hints that Pippin dropped. The vision comes from Chapter 9 (I think), when Pervinca and Sam dance and then kiss. I suppose it wasn't really a huge moment, so it'd be easy to forget. I'm really glad you read my story too! Think I'll proof-read it before I submit it to reviewing at HASA though :P

That had the perfect ending! I liked that you made the vision that Pervinca had so long ago be about Goldilocks and Faramir! I also liked the end bit with Merry being the only one not to know what had gone on between Sam and Pervinca! It was great, thank you!

Author Reply: The Goldi/Faramir vision was an idea from a very early stage in the writing (especially, since my first LotR fic was a Faramir/Goldi romance), but the idea of Merry not knowing about the whole thing only occured to me recently! I had to make sure that there wasn't any point in the story that he had been told, though. :P Thanks very much for your reviews - I'm so glad you enjoyed the story :D

A wonderful story! I just read it start to finish, and now I think I'm going to be late for work! LOL!

Author Reply: I hope you weren't *too* late - I'd hate to feel responsible for getting you into trouble :P Thanks so much for reviewing my little story, and I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :)

This has been quite a wonderful story! I loved how you portrayed all the hobbits! The idea that Sam and Pervinc actually had a "thing" for each other was great and well written. I liked all the pranks that Merry and Pippin had planned for the party! The idea that Pippin told Pervinca what was going on and her delaying her wedding believing that he would not break his promise and would return was great! I always wondered if any of the hobbits let their families now that their trip to Crickhollow wasn't going to end there. Thank you and I'm looking forward to the last bit as well!

Author Reply: Thanks very much :) There's actually a very, *very* long story as to what made me come up with the idea for a Sam and Pervinca romance, but it's very odd, so I don't think I'll share it :P They weren't originally *supposed* to play such a large part - it was supposed to be more about Pippin! - but I'm a sucker for romances, and so the romance side of the story took over. I'm really glad you enjoyed it - this was the second LotR fanfic I ever started on.

Can't believe that this is down to the last chapter! I am enjoying it too much for it to be over! Don't stop, just keep going. LOL Loved that Sam told her he still had the little box. So very good, all of it!

Author Reply: I can't believe I've nearly finished it either! You have no idea how long I've been working on this story :P Two years! Almost exactly! I'm trying to tie it up so I can get started on the "Just to Be With You" sequel, but I'm glad you're still enjoying this one :)

Love that Pervinca is still holding on to hope for Pippin. Felt so sorry for her in this chapter. I also love that Pippin was still teasing Sam about it all, too funny.

I like to think that they knew something of what was happening also. I do think that at least one of them might have told a friend or family member and Pippin seems the most likely to have done so. A very good chapter all around.

Author Reply: I don't know how Pippin managed to not tell Frodo about their conspiracy! He does seem like the blabbing kind. Thanks for the review! I took me a while to write this chapter.

I started reading from the beginning, though I haven't gotten through all of it yet! Yes, the later chapters made sense even without reading the beginning ones. I tend to do that a lot :D I like the chapters I skipped...love the Took history. This is a good story :)

Author Reply: Glad to hear that they did make sense! Don't worry, I have a habbit of reading the last chapter of books. It started out as just the last page, and it's sort of advanced from there. I just can't help it! Thank you for your reviews :)

I actually haven't read the first nine chapter of this story, but what I have read I am enjoying so far! It's kind of odd seeing Sam like someone besides Rosie...eek, been reading too many Sam/Rosie stories! Anyroad, keep up the good job and I'll try to read the chapters I missed!

Author Reply: You haven't read the 1st nine chapters? I've never thought of doing that before! Hope it's all still making sense to you, and I am glad you've enjoyed what you did read! I *was* trying for something different when I started this story. I may put a little explanation at the end as to why I chose to write a Pervinca/Sam story. I should finish this one very soon! (Or so I hope)

I knew that! From Obelia Medusa's Making of a Ring-bearer! There is also a Peregrin(e) falcon, and that shows up in one of Baylor's stories, though I forget which one.
