| Waiting is always hard. Waiting with someone you can trust seems to help, at least a little. I loved Éowyn's reunion with Waerith! It felt very real to me. "bands of worry" like something tightening around one's heart – such an evocative word picture! "This was her life now..." Never was such a reward more deserved. How difficult it must be, to be a seer, knowing what will come to pass but being unable to speak about it until afterwards! "Tell me of the man with blue eyes filled with love." How curious she must have been! How happy she is to hear the reality behind her foretelling! (I wonder if it will occur to Éowyn later that Holdlith also foresaw her suffering but could not speak of it. How the older woman must have suffered in having such knowledge and having to keep it to herself!) (I love to see Éomer sounding cheerful.) Éomer's reaction to "My King" is completely believable. I am glad that Éowyn knows him so well, including when to goad and when (and how) to reassure. Lovely! Author Reply: Lin! Hello! I'm glad that Eowyn's reunion with Waerith works! Yeah! ""bands of worry" like something tightening around one's heart – such an evocative word picture!" thanks! :-) And yes! I should imagine that being a seer would be a tremendous burden. Holdlith wanted to give some comfort to Eowyn but could not tell her of the hard times which she also saw! As she says Eowyn had to find her own path or it would not be her path. And she was also willing to bear the consequences of her actions. But Eowyn has a forgiving heart. I like to have Eomer seem cheerful at times! It is good for him! :-) Grief comes upon us in waves. "My King" seemed a particularly good way to show this. This is a hard transition for Eomer, until the last couple of months he had not been the heir. There had always been Theodred. War, the death of his cousin and now his uncle in rapid succession. It will take time. I wanted to show that. While in Gondor he was presumed King by his uncle's word. But it hadn't hit home until he came home. Thanks for writing and I hope you are well! :-) (((hugs))) MM | |

| Faramir. This was her life now because of her actions. She smiled and within those moments she forgave herself for not being the perfect chatelaine and for not ever wanting to be. That's a wonderful and healing realization. The stronger Éowyn becomes, the more she can help heal others. Author Reply: Shirebound! Exactly! Forgiving yourself for what you perceive to be your shortcomings is a very powerful thing. It will help her to be who she really is. Now she can go on from this moment and help others. She can become the healer that she says she will become. Thank again for being such a faithful reader and writer!! (((Hugs))) MM | |
