| Sam's determination to help Pippin is mostly, of course, from his own affection for him--but it's also because he's Frodo's dear cousin, and as he told Diamond--no Havens for him. I could imagine him thinking of having to tell Frodo of his cousin's end one day and deciding he wasn't about to have to do that. |
