THIS IS A COMPANION FIC TO CARPE DIEM! I have not given up on Carpe Diem so don't worry. But I have currently been working on a few tough chapters of that story and I need some time to think and organize my thoughts. Don't worry.

WARNING: This fic is extremely AU (alternate universe). It takes place during 2050 A.D. That is 47 years from now (2003). Technology has advanced so I have probably made some changes here and there. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T LIKE MODERN DAY LOTR FICS!!! Because you won't like this.

NOTES: This wasn't really inspired by anyone but it just suddenly came into my head one day. I haven't read any other modern day LOTR fics though there are probably several out there. If anyone knows any good ones, please tell me.

This story takes place 20 000 years or more after Tolkien's epic adventures of middle-earth. Now whom could possibly live that long? Elves of course! This will concentrate on several of the already existing elves of middle-earth (aka. Elrond, Galadriel, Celeborn, Elladan, Elrohir, Legolas, etc.). I'm not sure if Gandalf will make an appearance--- I simply have not decided. Believe it or not, there WILL be references to Arwen Evenstar and Aragorn II. They will not come alive again because I don't believe in a story where everything is happy-go-lucky and everything is perfect.

You MIGHT want to read Carpe Diem before you read this story but it's okay because I'm pretty sure you will understand without reading it.

But let me give you a basic summary of Carpe Diem (though the story is not complete yet) because I may make reference to that fic here: Many years after the departure of Celebrian but many years before the arrival of Aragorn II (Estel), the race of elves faced a relentless enemy with a powerful weapon: The ability to claim absolute control over one's mind. The elves (especially the family of Elrond) fought the evil and it was eventually defeated.

There are a few times in this story when I will refer to old characters from Carpe Diem: Elanor (she promised herself to Elrohir in Carpe Diem but they did not marry), Aikasse (an elf from my other fic who lost his elven instincts and power after being attacked, but he is still immortal), and Alcarin (the sister of Aikasse who is fond of Elladan).
