Samwise, as loyal as any soldier of Gondor, would die for his master, or die if not allowed to follow him; that much is clear.

Frodo I find intriguing. He seems weary, fragile and childlike, yet he plays this dance of words well and wisely. I cannot help but admire him even as he evades my attempts to learn his purpose.

Suddenly, revealed -- Isildur's Bane! The world goes still.

I could take it right now, spare this innocent the doom that surely awaits him, and by so doing seal the doom of my people, and indeed the world.
