I'm a thirty-something stay-at-home mom (which means I'm part chauffer) bitten by the bug to steal from Tolkien. I first read LotR when I was nine and have read it about once a year ever since then. I'm not a true fanatic, since I haven't tackled "Silmarilion" or "Lost Tales" yet, but I'm bad enough to make loud scoffing noises at the screen when I watch the movies. Legolas has been my favorite character since my father first read the Trilogy to me, and all of my stories reflect this. I objected strongly to Peter Jackson's portrayal of Tolkien's Elves, and have attempted to make my offering slightly more canon - with limited success; I am heavily influenced by Ivanhoe!
