The inimitable Shirebound provided this brilliant plot-bunny.
Set in the AU of my Frodo and his Cats stories
on Tol Eressea long after both Frodo and Sam have settled there.
In the timelessness of that Distant Shore not much changes and few mind.
But no one told Tom and Goldberry, Frodo’s very superior and prolific cats , about this.
Or ~*~ If they knew it, in their feline indifference, they simply chose to ignore it.

This is my own tale of Frodo’s struggles after his escape from Mordor and the destruction of the Ring. Yet, if Aratlithiel will permit, it is inspired in part by her heartbreaking CU story “Son of Drogo” wherein, and not for the faint of heart, the worst thing imaginable befalls Frodo. It is this in addition to the loss of the Ring that haunts him in this story.
Slightly AU with an intriguing OC Elven Woman.

Post quest Frodo angst. With OC, who COULD have existed canon-wise. Or at least someone like her. Not quite a romance. More about understanding our own pains and learning to cope with them.
A bit Bronte-ish with some minor hints of Wuthering Heights but mainly this is all Tolkein-inspired.
