Ninquetari · 23 February 2014 · Chapter 13: Culture Shock of a Dark Nature

I highly enjoyed this particular chapter, as I'm a salesperson on a bookstore, and can highly identify with Nick's thoughts, but can also see why Vaire would find those hilarious. Also, of previous chapters - making the Valar take personality tests would be fantastic. A field day for Freud and Jung indeed...

Author's reply

Hi Ninquetari. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, given it's subject matter. I don't care for the genre myself but I know it's pretty popular with teens. And it would be interesting to see what the Valar make of the personality tests. More than Freud and Jung would have a field day. *grin* Thanks for leaving a review. It's very much appreciated.

Lindelea · 23 February 2014 · Chapter 2: Conversations

“What else would we be doing in the middle of the woods with the temperature well below freezing in the wee hours of the New Year?” Well, of course! And why does the phrase "Famous last words..." run through my mind at this point? “But really, what Mortal in his or her right mind would bother to go blundering in the woods on New Year’s Eve of all nights?”

Author's reply

Hi Lindelea. Well, no one ever said Elves were always playing with a full deck. LOL! And yeah, famous last words as we will see. You would think that these people would have learned long ago not to tempt the universe with such lines but some people never learn. Thanks for reviewing. It's appreciated.

MJ · 22 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

It's taken me more than a day to stop laughing at the "zombie hunters." Of course, you couldn't have known that my sister and I have been calling this The Zombie Apocalypse Winter, since whenever we think we have it licked, here it comes again. I'm glad to see the Elves taking the advice of Alex and Derek, since even the Elves who have never left Middle-earth still can't have quite the same perspective toward living in a Mortal world as Mortals themselves. (Though Esty might be a better choice for arts-and-crafts oriented sales than eBay, lol.) Excellent work — I'm looking forward to seeing how these plans are implemented. Oh, and does Derek happen to think that Námo's last name is "dude"??? ;D

Author's reply

Hi MJ. Yeah this does seem like the Zombie Apocalypse Winter, doesn't it? And you're not the only reviewer to mention Esty, which, frankly, I've never heard of since I'm not into that sort of thing. I'm sure the ELves will learn about it on their own. We'll see how things go with them. And I wouldn't be surprised if Derek did think Námo's last name is 'Dude'. LOL! Thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Soledad · 22 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Sorry, but I 'm completely behind Alex. Ever since he's set foot into Wiseman, the Elves showed the same condescending attitude towards him and, frankly, towards all other Mortals. Alex is just reacting more sharply because he is more aware of his own considerable abilities. I find him fairly tolerant towards elvish snobbery than the Elves deserve. I would have washed my hands on the whole lot a long time ago. Liked Derek's ideas, though. Elves on eBay - it has a nice sound to it.

Author's reply

Hi Soledad. Oh, I totally agree with you. But Alex does have issues and we will see how they will affect him and the Elves later in the story. Ron was right to take him down and remind him just who the Elves are because the stakes are much higher than he realizes. At any rate, we will see how the Elves are also called on the carpet for their attitude towards Mortals and Alex in particular in a later chapter. Trust me, they don't quite get it all their own way. Glad you liked Derek's ideas. Thanks for reviewing. It's always appreciated.

obsidianj · 22 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Whoa, Vorondur. That was kind of surprising... or not, come to think of it. I hope Alex gets his attitude checked and Derek also. Love the idea of a Zombie bootcamp... I'm not so sure they get the right people to sign up for it, but it really could improve tourism for the town and that would make the elves more palatable to the towns people especially when there is more employment opportunities to be had for all. The craftshop idea is also a great idea. I think one of the reasons why tensions are running so high is that most of the elves are bored. They were sent to Wiseman on an exciting mission, but now reality sets in in that they have a long way to go before they can do anything and they are just sitting around with too much time on their hands and nothing to do in a strange culture. I bet a lot of them wish they never left Aman especially not for this...

Author's reply

You're absolutely right, obsidianj. The Elves are indeed bored and they are feeling exactly as you describe. Hopefully, though, with employment idea like the zombie hunter boot camp and setting up shops and the like, they'll become less bored and they're feelings of anger and frustration will dissipate. We'll just have to see. And Vorondur is cool here... we see a side of him that he rarely displays any more and it's a side of him that Alex and Derek both needed to see so they could readjust their attitudes toward him and the other Elves. Thanks for reviewing. It's always appreciated.

obsidianj · 22 February 2014 · Chapter 15: What Happens in Edhellond Stays in Edhellond

The anger management classes can't get started in earnest soon enough. And it is not only Glorfindel that needs it... I think Alex can use that too. It was funny to see that everyone deferred to Finrod the moment he used that special tone and expression. Derek is just funny with his "Namo dude" remark. There is a lot of resentment running among the group, and I think they need more conversations like this to bring it out in the open and deal with it. This reminded me a lot of my childhood, where, when the anger was simmering under the surface for a while, my mother would make sure that there was an explosion and everything was brought out in the open. There was a lot of shouting involved, but everyone had their say and we agreed on new rules. Life was a lot easier after one of these "discussions",...until the next one ;-). People driving by our house probably thought we were murdering each other... But I learned a lot about the motives of my family and how everyone's behavior affected everyone else.

Author's reply

Hi obsidianj. There is indeed a lot of resentment running among the group and while some of it has been diffused here, it isn't completely resolved and we'll see how it continues to plague the Elves and their Mortal friends. Things will get worse before they get better, but hopefully the anger management classes will help to some extent. Interesting about your mother's method of dealing with interfamilial anger. Thanks for sharing and thanks for reviewing. It's always appreciated.

bookworm · 22 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Zombie Boot Camp! *glee* Alex & Derek have the right idea - small business is the way to go - the internet has been a boon there. Also I thought I would let you know, I have the same Myers-Briggs as Nienna *glee*

Author's reply

Hi Bookworm. Small businesses should help them get set up and integrated into society and show the Mortals that they are contributing positively to the community. Cool that you have the same type as Nienna. She's one of my favorites among the Valar, at least the way I write her. Thanks for reviewing. It's always appreciated.

Larner · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

A zombie-hunter boot camp? Oh, good grief! But it'll sell!

Author's reply

You bet, Larner. LOL! And who better to run one than those who once hunted down orcs? Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Clouded Leopard · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Hi Fiondil, The title threw me off until I started reading this chapter, but then again you do give interesting titles to your chapters. On Vorondur, if I remember correctly other than Finrod knowing Ron's past I don't think anyone else knows about how he lost his sons. One to mother nature and one to war (arrow in the back). So Alex and Derek would not know about Ron being a warrior ages back in our history. Why people underestimate Ron I will never know. Randall and Manuela? I thought Laurendil and Manwen were going by Randall and Amanda. It looks like dinner was uncomfortable for the youngsters when they came home all excited about their day. Good for Alex and Derek taking the initiative to break the tension at the table and Derek's interesting take on what to call the training camp. It seems he has some wild ideas but does have a point. Their are a lot of gamers out there that would love to improve survival instincts. Alex, Derek and Ron also have the right of it when they said the elves could open up a shop to sell handicrafts, show how their crafts are made and start classes. Great chapter Fiondil.

Author's reply

Hi Clouded Leopard. Oh, I'd forgotten that I originally gave Manwen the name Amanda. When I came to write EA3 and was assigning Mortal names to various Elves, I decided on "Manuela" for her. And as I've used that name consistently throughout this story (and I've passed the number of chapters from EA2), I've decided to keep "Manuela" for her and went back and changed it in "Christmas" since it occurs only the one time there. Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency. You have a better memory than I. As for Vorondur, obviously, those Elves from Valinor (other than Finrod) would not know his past except in general terms, i.e., he once lived in Nargothrond, fought in the War of Wrath, that sort of thing, but more than likely the Wiseman Elves do know about him losing his sons. Alex and Derek, of course, wouldn't have a clue, so it would be easy for them (Alex especially) to underestimate him. Well, that won't happen again, not after this. Derek is smart to suggest using the "zombie card" as he puts it, since it's very popular now among the paintball players and all and that's a good way to disguise what they're doing. And maybe most of their clients would never learn the truth and join the cause, but they'll be making money and training those that need to be trained and that's all that matters. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and especially pointing out the inconsistent naming. I appreciate you doing so very much.

rikki · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Loved the title. Such humor and so true. Its nice that the alpha dogs have decided on a pecking order here and seem to be settling down on the porch again. Though I am getting the impression that elves all seem to be alpha. Is this because of their long life experiences or are they just normally that way? Alex and Derek are naturally alpha if you look at their careers and experiences. So I may have just answered my question. Getting taken down by Vorondur must have been an eye opener to Alex. Better even than Amroth talking to Alex, this points out not all the big dogs look like big dogs. And great ideas in expanding the earning capacity of the elves. I loved the idea of the boot camp, though I am wondering what the elves will say when they see zombie hunters for the first time. That presents a mental picture that is just funny. The ideas for selling on Ebay and craft shops is also good. I am sure when the elves get started they will really start getting ideas. It might even be a good idea if some of the elves travel around some of the craft shows in the lower 48. They might even get lucky and find other elves. But even though there has been some progress on uniting the Valar and Wiseman elves, it seems like there is a long way to go to get past some of the issues that are arising. And some issues may never get resolved. But I look forward to see how you have the elves countering the gossip that is flying around Wiseman right about now.

Author's reply

Hi rikki. I had fun coming up with the title. And yeah, I think they're all alphas to one degree or another, so it makes it hard for there to be just followers instead of leaders. Being taken down by Vorondur drove the lesson home more than any talk by Amroth since it was so unexpected. Hopefully, both Alex and Derek will remember this lesson long enough to revise their own attitudes. I'm sure the Elves will be a little bit nonplused when they meet their first "zombie hunters" especially the type who spend their days doing accounting or tax returns or other "meek" jobs and then turn into hard-as-nails warriors on the weekend ready to "kick zombie butt". LOL! You're right, though, that the Elves do have a long way to go to get past certain issues and we'll see this throughout the story as they continue to find their way. Thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Lindelea · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 1: Finrod’s First Day at Work

A former king. Working in a bookstore. Still, he sounds as if he's landed on his feet. I feel a bit like Glorfindel, when he said, “now that I’ve gotten used to the idea of the great and glorious Finrod Felagund being a working stiff, I am quite fine about it.”

Author's reply

Hi Lindalea. Hey! The guy has to earn his keep somehow and there are no kingdoms for sale at the moment! LOL! I imagine a lot of people felt a bit like Glorfindel at first, but after awhile they just accepted it as "normal", whatever normal may mean. Thanks for leaving a review. It's very much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of the story.

Dreamflower · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Ooh, the "Zombie Boot Camp" thing sounds like a cool idea! And selling Elven craft is just as cool! Let me know when the website opens--I'd buy their stuff in a heartbeat! It's still pretty clear that the Valinor Elves need some grounding in mortal history and especially in mortal pop culture! Maybe they should have a "movie night" at Edhellond or something. There are so many references to things that we take for granted that everyone knows, yet it's almost like another language to those who don't! I loved Vorondur's take-down of Alex. These are not "tame" Elves, Alex!

Author's reply

Hi Dreamflower. I think everyone enjoyed Vorondur's take-down of Alex. You're right. These definitely are not "tame" Elves. LOL! And movie night sounds like a good idea. You can learn a lot about a culture that way, though it's sometimes exaggerated, but it would certainly help them to understand the references that are made. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Sunny · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Oh yes, just because Vorondur is now a psychiatrist, that doesn't mean he has forgotten how to fight. And I'm certain he has forgotten more dirty fighting tricks than Alex has ever learned. And I'm sure the collective knowledge of fighting that the Elves have amassed will be useful when they open the doors to the first group of wannabe zombie hunters, though they should definitely also get Mortals like Paul Pettingill involved as well. I'm sure they will do a booming business, though sorting out the people they want to recruit from the loonies might be a chore. They might also consider getting in touch with the SCA, then they would also have a reason to play with their own weapons. Swords and such, that is. Here's a SCA-related vid for your amusement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1TTLtxzNTU *snickers* And I certainly wouldn't mind buying some real Elvish stuff - I have bought lots of hairtoys (and other things) online, mostly on Etsy, but also on Ebay and a few other places. :-)

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. Thanks for the link. It was a lot of fun. And you're right about Ron having forgotten more about dirty fighting than Alex has ever learned. We tend to forget that, as Alex has, and possibly Derek. Well, they've been disabused of that for sure. And the SCA... hmmm.... Thanks for commenting. I appreciate you taking the time to do so very much.

6336 · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Oo!, Zombie Boot Camp! Craft Store, E-Bay! Though Etsy might be better for crafts. Good suggestions. Let me know when they open up the internet store! Both Alex and Derek have issues, their own and together, getting those figured out will go a long way towards easing tensions within the group. Finding a purpose for the Valinor Gang other than preparing for the Dagor Dagoreth will also do a lot, not that they aren't working on that. I wonder if Vivian(Vaire) could give them some tips? Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. LOL! Yeah, Alex and Derek both have issues, but hopefully this little demonstration of Ron's will get them figured out. It will certainly help ease the tensions within the group. Vivian... nice name. I'm sure Vairë would approve. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. It's greatly appreciated. Hugs back.

Kevana · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Dude! I saw the first four words of the title and went "sign me up!" before even reading the story. Best chapter title ever! I am so happy at this turn of events. Derek, you're a genius. You can't have a decent Apocalypse without zombies, after all. ;) For real, I'd be all over that, camo gear and paintball guns and chasing through the woods. And I'm a klutzy dork with zero survival skills, so I'm sure the more wilderness-experienced people would jump at the chance even faster. Hopefully the whole zombie thing won't freak out the Elves the way the werewolf thing did Finrod, since there's not really an equivalent in their world (at least that I can recall). Ron's action was a surprise, but I'm glad he was the one to drive that lesson home to Alex. Alex and Derek haven't had much of a chance to see the Elves in full-on action, and I guess it's true about familiarity and contempt. Ron's probably one of the few people who could do that without Alex actually fighting back, or at least I imagine so. As touchy as this whole situation is, it seems there's a lot of growth still to come on all sides here. I really enjoy how you've made it clear that nobody – not the Elves, not the Mortals, not the Maiar – are perfect and all are going to get things wrong and hopefully learn from it all. As I prefer to see it, there's not really a "right" side in these scuffles, just a bunch of people dealing with themselves and some pretty heavy stuff. Just my take anyway and something I greatly enjoy about your writing. But for real...ZOMBIES. There's an awesome podcast program for beginning runners called Zombies, Run! I was doing it last fall before I hurt my knee and had to switch to swimming. It's fantastic, there's a storyline going on with characters that help train you as if you're wearing a headset and learning to be a "runner" for a post-Apocalypse settlement. You have to run places and avoid zombies while collecting supplies. And sometimes you'll run into mobs of zombies and have to speed up to get away from them, you can hear them growling in your ear while people on your headset yell at you to hurry up and escape. It's great motivation and very immersive. *grin* I totally recommend it to anybody, it's available as an app for smartphones and it's just a few dollars. If you're not into running, you can also do it on a stationary bike or just walking (or sitting on your couch, although that's not as fun). Have a fantastic weekend! We went from snow to 70 degrees in a week, I think the ocean is calling my name. -Kevana

Author's reply

Hi Kevana. I thought the title was one of my better ones. *grin* Not into zombie hunting myself though I've had to write about various paintball markers and zombie targets and the like for my job so I'm fairly familiar with it all. I'm like you, a total survival klutz. The podcast app though sounds like fun. Too bad I don't have a smartphone. *grin* Anyway, you're right that probably only Ron could've taken Alex down without Alex fighting back. I'm sure Ron has impressed the hell out of Alex and Derek with his move and it reminds them that here is someone who may have put his sword up but hasn't stopped being a warrior and never will. Hopefully, Alex's own attitude will improve. And since all these people from the Valar on down are created beings, then it stands to reason that none of them can be perfect, though some are capable of achieving perfection better than others. All have flaws and blind spots and that's what makes them interesting as characters. If they were absolutely perfect, especially the Valar, Maiar and Elves, what would be the point? Perfection, when you stop to think about it, is boring. It's the strive toward perfection (or away from it) that makes life interesting for us. Wish I could join you at the beach, but while it's warmer than it has been, it's still winter here, but enjoy the ocean anyway and have a great weekend yourself. Thanks for taking the time to review before heading for the waves. It's much appreciated.

someone · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Those employment ideas are excellent, and they can develop them into any direction. "Real historial/fantasy clothing made to your measurements" could be one for some of the ellith. I'm pretty sure, too, that they have some gardening tips up their sleeve and could start a business that improves damaged landscapes after acid rain or something. Nice, relatively calm chapter. They should go on a zombie boot camp, all of them, and shoot at each other with paintballs until all the anger is used up. P.S. Vorondur rocks.

Author's reply

Vorondur rocks, indeed, someone. LOL! And your suggestions for other types of employment are very doable. I'm sure the Elves will think along similar lines once they get going. And you're right that sending them all to a zombie hunter boot camp somewhere and having them take their anger out on each other that way would be a good thing. Probably won't happen, but you never know. Thanks for leaving a review. It's always appreciated.

Monalex · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Hello Fiondil!! I understand that Alex was being disrespectful of the Elves and that he needed to be taken down a peg, but really why most the mortals always apologies for any disrespect when the Elves never do so?? I saw that none of the Elves that were in the discussion before apologized for their prejudice and arrogance against the mortals and even their fellow Wiseman Elves... It's just not fair!! Is it really supposed to be the mortals always serving the Elves?? Is Alex always going to be held below the Elves, never allowing him to state his opinion of their actions?? I am guessing that in this camp they will learn sword fighting and archery, typical Elvish Fighting techniques, but are they also going to add pistol and rifle shooting and martial arts?? This is how modern warfare is being held and something the Enemy will use to his advantage, so it would be very important they include it!! Guess this means that the Elves considered warriors from Valinor will have to perforce learn and start training themselves in modern warfare (pistol and rifle shooting, electronical equipment, bombs, etc)It would be great to see them acquiring this new skill!! Learning for once something from the mortals!! It would also help the Wiseman Elves in showing up to the Valioneran Elves and maybe the prejudice between this two groups would diminish. And Alex and Derek are right, sell the idea of a Camp for Zombie Hunters and they will come in droves!! Hahahaha...the way the mortal mind works, they can play with that!! And through it select the mortals they want to recruit and take them to and advance course or something like it where the real training begins!! :D And they could make a big company that encompasses all of the items the elves make, I'm quite sure mortals will buy if they make or do objects with a sense of the ancient!! Great Chapter!! You had a lot of very interesting ways in which the Elves can adapt to this mortal society. :) Monalex

Author's reply

Hi Monalex. It's true that the Elves should also be apologizing for their attitudes toward Mortals, but Alex was crossing a line here with Ron and Ron responded appropriately in taking him down as he did to show that Alex can't have it all his own way and that all choices have consequences. Now that the air has been cleared between these two, maybe things will get better. We'll have to see. Anyway, since the zombie hunter boot camp would involve weapons that are mil-sims of modern weapons, the Elves will need to learn how to use them as well. I think the training will eventually cover all kinds of weapons, both modern and ancient, with the Wiseman Elves perhaps handling the modern aspects of warfare at first while the Valinóreans deal with more traditional weapons. It will be a partnership, which is the whole point. Thanks for reviewing. It's greatly appreciated.

Ellie · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

Okay, Yum on the chocolate cream pie :-) Everyone involved in this story has an attitude, and most of them need to adjust it in some way before things get out of hand - which they already seem to be threatening to do. Any time peace is acheived it is tenuous at best lately. Ron is a frightening individual for all of his calm and clinical behavior. I tend to forget that about him. It is a bit scary really.

Author's reply

Hi Ellie. Yeah, chocolate cream pie. Yum. You're right about everyone in the story having an attitude and that most of them need adjusting. And Ron is indeed a frightening individual. His past is full of darkness as well as light and, as he reminds Alex, he was a warrior long before he ever became a psychiatrist. He's still a warrior, though he's now fighting a different kind of war, a war for the minds and souls of Mortals experiencing emotional turmoil brought on either by life circumstances or by disease. Anyway, thanks for leaving a review. You know how much I appreciate it.

Leoglin · 21 February 2014 · Chapter 16: Zombie Hunter Boot Camp and Other Money Makers While Waiting for the Apocalypse

The title was priceless!! I read it and started laughing. Of course Findrod's insistence on an explanation was pretty funny. The zombie training camp is a perfect ruse. It will bring in more money for the Elves, as well as create added tourism to the town itself. Everyone could potentially benefit. Hopefully this doesn't sound rude, but I'm glad that Vorondur took Alex down a peg (literally lol). It's understandable everyone is a little on edge, but sometimes his attitude... *shakes head* Hopefully now that the air is a little cleared, at least where he, Derek and Vorondur are concerned, they can help to improve dispositions all around. I will look forward to Monday's chapter! Thank you again for posting such a great series. ~Lin

Author's reply

Hey Lin. Glad you liked the title. Told you you would get a kick out of it. *grin* Alex does have an attitude problem, and not necessarily all having to do with the Elves, though it's most evident when he's dealing with them. Ron was right to take him down a peg or two. I'm sure both Alex and Derek are rethinking some hard truths by now. I'm glad you are enjoying this series. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it. See you Monday.

LOL love the idea of Zombie camp. they will be making some good money with that one. Also love the idea of them opening up their own shop. I would buy from them.So let me think, going to zombie camp and getting some swag to go with it..yep. I'd go broke. but I would be a prepared zombie killing machine who would look stylish while doing so. Glad that Derek and Alex are on better terms with the elves. I miss the interaction with them all. Including Zach and the rest of the mortals.. Ah well. I'm going to sit back and wait for the ads to appear so I can get registered now. :)

Author's reply

Hi Laer. Hey! If you're going to go out and slay zombies, who says you can't also look stylish at the same time? LOL! I'm glad you liked the chapter, but I'm afraid you'll be waiting a long time for that ad to appear. *grin* Thanks for leaving a comment. It's much appreciated.

Lyana · 18 February 2014 · Chapter 15: What Happens in Edhellond Stays in Edhellond

Whoa - good thing Alex and Derek are as unflappable as they are... I remember that when I read the Silmarillion for the first time after reading LOTR, I had to keep reminding myself that it was *elves* I was reading about because all the ones in LOTR seemed to be so perfect. I think you're capturing the reality of elves attempting to integrate with modern mortal society very realistically. Now for everyone to come to terms with their prejudices and the myriad of stresses they're dealing with. Yeah, I'm anticipating more fireworks. :-) Looks like Finrod is quickly self-correcting on how to engage with mortals, and it's just in time!

Author's reply

Hi Lyana. They are a bit unflappable. *grin* It is good to remember that the Elves, being created beings just like the rest of us from the Valar on down, are not and never have been perfect, though they may seem that way to us Mortals. They are as flawed as the rest of us and we see it here. Hopefully, they'll be able to work things out but it won't be easy and, yes, there are more fireworks in the future (or what's the point of writing this story? *grin*). Finrod's no dummy and he realized he was in the wrong. Apologizing to Alex and Derek was the right thing for him to do. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's very much appreciated.

Just thought of an answer to the Elves unemployment problem, have them start a business, a day care might be an idea, I am sure not all of them spent their time practicing for the Dagor Dagoreth! Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. Well we know that Nell is going for her certification to work in a day care so maybe others will do the same. The quesiton of employment and possible options will actually be addressed in the next chapter. And no, they aren't spending most of their time practicing for the Dagor Dagorath. Thanks for your ideas. I'm sure others have their own suggestions as well. Hugs back.

Quite a bit of resentment, Larner. Hopefully they'll work their way past it and get on with things. Thanks for commenting. It's appreciated.

Yikes, me thinks the boys are going to learn a lesson on calming down. Not that there isn't more that need to learn it. I wonder if the elves would have issues with the culture shock /differences. A lot of elves unemployed in one house would be very stressful. The money situation alone can cause a lot of hurt feelings and worse; hateful thoughts. :(

Author's reply

Hi Laer. Yes, the boys do need to calm down, as do everyone else. The topic of work and possible employment opportunities will be addressed in the next chapter. Thanks for revieiwng. I really appreciate it.
