Larner · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

I was remembering that song a couple of days ago. Heh! This would be a BIG shock to the system, and particularly to the people of Wiseman. Most interesting situation, but I AM glad Amarie is there with her beloved husband. As for Turgon--he needs to accept he's not much of anyone special now. Heh!

Author's reply

Yes, it's a very BIG shock, Larner, but at least Finrod has Amarië now and I doubt he'll let her go. As for Turgon, well, that's another story. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

galathil · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Hi Fiondil The wait was worth it. Now I am really can't wait, to see what the good people think. I hope that a certain prince/police officers father turn"s up.( Are you sure that you can't through in Aragorn and company in?) He! He! That would really put Loren in a spin. So glad to see Turgon turn up. LOL Galathil

Author's reply

Hi galathil. I'm glad you found the wait worth it. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

Laer · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Amarië! Yea :) And Elrond! Double yea :) But oh buddy, the problems they are having, and they are now having to explain how the new elves got there. Yikes!

Author's reply

Hi Laer. I can see you doing a happy dance even now. LOL! Yes, they have problems galore as we will see. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Laer · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 95: The Ride to Wiseman

oh dear surprises. Yikes..hopefully it will be a happy one for all this time :)

Author's reply

You'll find out soon enough, Laer. *grin*

Amony · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Now THAT was entirely unsuspected!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought that judgment would have stripped Turgon of his arrogance but obviously I was wrong. Poor Glorfindel :( :( :( That was very insensitive and very dangerous of the Valar, Glorfindel could have very easily slipped his leash and it was a heavy blow for him. I hope you plan to put Ecthelion in the picture, I bet that the meeting between him and Glorfindel will very dramatic :D ;) Cannot wait until the next chapter :D keep it up.

Author's reply

Hi Amony. There is a reason for the way Turgon is acting here and we'll learn about it in subsequent chapters. I'm afraid Ecthelion won't be here. He's still back in Valinor. Perhaps someday he and Glorfindel will reunite. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Arwen75 · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Well, I was hoping Elrond & Celebrian would manage to make it for wedding but I was not expecting everyone else. I was grinning like a loon through this - just what I needed as just left my (adopted) son at my mother's for his first night away from us. he was fine - I, on the other hand, was in tears once I got into car. So this was a real treat to read although I am now going to be impatient till Monday.

Author's reply

Hi Arwen. Oh, mama's suffering from separation anxiety. LOL! I'm sure you'll adjust rather quickly. I'm so glad to hear that the adoption went through. Congratulations. I know a lot of people were hoping Elrond and Celebrían would be able to make it for the wedding, but why stop with just them? LOL! Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it very much.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Atya, I'll quote myself: "My guess? Earendil brought Tristan and Iseult's families to join them for the wedding. Oh, and Celeborn, Galadriel, Elrond, Celebrian...and the Valar. *grin* Anyway, I'm probably completely wrong, but I'll see soon. :D" In fact, it looks like I was completely *right* and then some...well, *possibly* except for the mode of transportation, there was no mention of Vingilot. Did they go by Valar or something? Even I didn't even dream Turgon would be there, or the High Kings! My goodness, they've really outdone themselves! Good Lord, what will this mean for the "godless Elves" babbling faction of Wiseman, what with this influx of so-called "godless" Elves? Is Elu there or not? It sounded like he wasn't, but has he just not been Reborn yet? Oh, and Matanamir! Haha, I didn't even suspect THAT! *stocks the Cliff House refrigerator with leftover turkey breast, cranberry sauce slices (you know, Atya, the kind from the can), Southern skillet corn, yam and marshmallow casserole (much better than sweet potato, I swear), green beans with sesame seeds, and apple and pumpkin pies* *fills the bread basket with crescent rolls* *puts out those jam filled pastries that look kind of like bear claws except having jam in the middle and I always forget the name* *puts Martinelli's sparkling apple cider within easy reach* (Thanksgiving means lots of food but also lots of leftovers, especially when it was just the four of us!! I hope your holiday went well! :) ) Tye-melin, Kaylee

Author's reply

Hi Kaylee. Well, Eärendil didn't bring Tristan's and Iseult's families since they would have no reason to be there, but certainly other people have come who do have a vested interest in being there for this particular wedding. And no, Elu Thingol is not there, though he has been reborn for quite some time now. Again, he would have no particular reason to come even if he is related to Elrohir. In truth, I suspect that the High Kings are there simply because they badgered the Valar into letting them come but others had to remain behind to govern their kingdoms, which is why not everyone we would like to see there is there. Anyway, we'll see how the people of Wiseman react to these visitors over the course of the rest of the story. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Tye-melin.

Yay! Hops up and down on one foot! I was right, more wedding guests and such additions to the party! Is there any one left in Aman, it looks like they emptied the place out? The Valar must have commandeered a few Swan ships for this lot. Glorfindel and Turgon need to both step back and take a few deep breaths, before 'discussing' things. I can't wait to see what Nell's parents reaction to her partial bonding is. Yes, I did read this at 4.00 a.m. this morning after getting off work, will probably take a nap this afternoon but can't sleep any more at the moment. Packs up Banana Bread and Pumpkin Bars for Cliff House, takes elevator up and joins Sunny in finding a good spot! Sleepy Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. Yes, more wedding guests and Very Important wedding guests. You're right that Glorfindel and Turgon need to step back and take a few deep breaths before they discuss things. In fact, Glorfindel won't deal with Turgon until after the wedding. Too much else is going on. Hope your foot is doing better. Thanks for reviewing. Hugs back.

Ora · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Whatever I had imagined, it was not that. I was afraid the Elves were in danger and I'm glad that's not the case. Gandalf was great, I loved Glorfindel's reaction when he didn't tell them what was happening (I suppose the others were as infuriated, they just didn't show it). I do not really know the characters who lived in the first two Ages (I have only read the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit), but you have a very clear way to show who is who. I just don't understand Glorfindel's reaction when he saw Turgon. What made him react so badly ? I can't wait to meet the other guests. Will we get to see Thranduil's reaction (if he is there) to Legolas becoming a policeman ? I think the question was asked a few chapters back. Till Monday, Ora

Author's reply

Hi Ora. I don't think too many people imagined that all those people would show up, though I know many were hoping that at least Elrond and Celebrían and possible Galadriel and Celeborn would show. In order to understand Glorfindel's reaction upon seeing Turgon you would have to read "Elf, Interrupted", where we learn about Glorfindel's relationship with Turgon before the fall of Gondolin and how that has affected him even after dying and being reborn. We will not be seeing Thranduil here, unfortunately. He would have no particular reason to come for the wedding since he's not family. I'm sure he'll hear all about it and about Legolas when they visitors return to Aman. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Kevana · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

It's happening and it is glorious. *starry-eyed stare* This is the greatest. Turgon! Just - Turgon is back!?! And Galadriel! And the Kings! Ahhhh I can't take it till Monday, I am going to explode. Amarië too! Oh goodness, how many of them will be staying? Elrond and Celebrian finally get to see their sons again! And their reunion with Glorfindel involves him getting taken down by Ron, somehow that probably feels like old times for those who knew him as a newly Reborn. LOL! Whatever Loren thinks, this is the best surprise ever. Maybe he'll get used to it when he calms down. I have to go read this again, I know I missed things! Have a fantastic weekend! -Kevana

Author's reply

Hi Kevana. I'm so glad you like the surprise and the fact that Turgon is there among others. As for how many will end up staying, that remains to be seen. And poor Loren... well, I bet the visitors were pretty shocked at how Ron handled him and Finrod allowing it. Oh well... nothing they haven't seen before. LOL! Thanks for leaving a review. Have a great weekend yourself!

Sunny · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Oh dear - such a lot of important guests for the wedding! I had suspected that Celebrían would _not_ want to miss out on her son's wedding. I suspected that from the moment she heard that Elrohir had found a ladylove, she would be plotting and scheming to find a way to attend the wedding. And probably half the population of Aman would be right there alongside her, plotting and scheming to be included among the wedding guests! So Glorfindel had a bad reaction to meeting Turgon again after all these ages. Can't really say I'm surprised. Lots of stressful things have happened to him recently (including almost dying again) so when confronted with this surprise I'm just amazed he did not slip his leash, despite his ring. I'm sure the next chapters will be ... interesting. I'll be baking a lot of cookies for the expected influx to the Cliff House on Monday - and I'll make sure to get a good view of the fireworks. I'm sure the Valar are already settled in with popcorn and drinks to watch the mirroanwi's antics.

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. Yes, Very Important People. Glorfndel has had to deal with a lot of stress these past six months or so and having this lot get dumped on him isn't helping. I think he could've handled it all if Turgon wasn't there, but seeing him has brought back certain memories and oaths and it's just too much. Hopefully once he calms down (and Turgon gets off his own high horse) he'll be able to deal with it better. And yeah, I'm sure the Valar are all jockeying for the best seat in the house for the coming fireworks. LOL! Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

Dreamflower · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Olórin, for his part, turned and smiled. “I understand your frustration, my friend, but I assure you I am not being deliberately mean. To tell you anything would spoil things for others. How very Gandalf-y of him. :) I am reminded of what he told Frodo: Many folk like to know beforehand what is to be set on the table; but those who have labored to prepare the feast like to keep their secret; for wonder makes the words of praise louder... I must confess that of all the things I guessed and suspected, this was not one of them! Yet I certainly can see the logic of this happening here and now. The wedding is an important one. Poor Glorfindel! Truly, it doesn't matter how long ago a trauma may have been, it's always there, just under the surface. And actually dying, and in such a horrific manner has got to be truly PTSD inducing as far as trauma goes. I do hope that he and Turgon can work things out between them. But Turgon is going to have to learn a lot about how the modern world works, and have to learn how to be a lot less arrogant and judgmental. I look forward very much to the ap Hywells meeting Galadriel and Celeborn. That will be fun.

Author's reply

Hi Dreamflower. Yes, very Gandalf-y. LOL! Glorfindel has a lot of baggage where Turgon is concerned as well you know from reading "Elf, Interrupted". We'll see how the two of them deal with things as the rest of this story progresses. We'll also see why Turgon is acting the way he is. There's a reason for it. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for leaving a review to let me know. I appreciate it very much.

Eruherdiriel · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

So, my guess was pretty close. Wonderful. I love the idea of everyone being there. Where is Sador? Looking forward to Gareth and Galadriel. ~Eruherdiriel

Author's reply

Hi Eruherdiriel. I'm glad you liked this. Sador is still in Valinor and the reason for it will be revealed in a subsequent chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

rikki · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

Ah, this is going to turn out to be the wedding of the century. With the high kings, parents and grand parents attending, Roy and Sarah may have to move the wedding to the athletic field to accommodate everyone. I am excited to see who all turned up from Valinor. The ap Hywels are in for quite an introduction to Elven royality. Poor Tristan feeling like he is informally dressed in his T-shirt and both Tristan and Iseult feel overwhelmed with all the new comers. I look forward to Garath meeting Nell's parents. It sounds like the next few chapters are going to be filled with the wedding and all the attendees. I am going to put on my best geek T-shirt and climb to the Cliff House to get a good seat to watch the festivities. Hope that you had a good Thanksgiving.

Author's reply

Hi rikki. I suspect it'll be the wedding of the millennium for the people of Wiseman. And Tristan is very informally dressed for meeting anyone, never mind royalty. LOL! We won't actually get to the wedding immediately. There will be lots going on before hand and then lots going on afterwards but the rest of the story will revolve around these visitors and the impact they have on Wiseman and its residents. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it very much.

Sarah · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

How wonderful! I was grinning like an idiot all the way through this one, Finrod running off to find his lady love had me chuckling. I had not realized how much I missed some of our favorite Valinoreans until now, though you may need to think about putting together a "guest list" of all the new (temporary) arrivals. Sirens? I think perhaps that they're all about to get a crash course in dealing with the modern-day mortal, let us hope that one of Liam's more...patient...coworkers is with them, or fists may fly. I can't wait to see how everyone handles this, the Wiseman wedding guests are in for quite the supprise. Jaws will drop and some heads may even roll (though lets hope everyone plays nicely together). I hope you had a safe and relaxing holiday!

Author's reply

Hi Sarah. In the course of the next few chapters we'll see who is there. People can always make their own list. *grin* As for the sirens, yeah, these Elves are about to get a crash course on dealing with modern-day Mortals. We'll see who shows up. And it will be interesting to see how everyone handles this incursion from both sides. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

UTfrog · 28 November 2014 · Chapter 96: Surprises

What a delightful surprise! I know most of us were hoping for Elrond and Celebrian, at least, to attend the wedding, but you have surpassed yourself! Hope we have lots and lots of chapters on everyone meeting everyone else. Glorfindel's reaction to Turgon was well written and totally in character with your other stories. Thank you so much.

Author's reply

I'm glad the surprise exceeded your expectations and that you feel Glorfindel's reaction to Turgon was well written and totally in character. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

obsidianj · 27 November 2014 · Chapter 95: The Ride to Wiseman

Smart move keeping the parents and sons separated on the way to Wiseman. Could have been a long ride otherwise with sulking parents/children. This way they could talk to other people and learn a bit more about the other elves. I'm really curious about the surprise. But it can't be really bad. Olorin is too relaxed for that.

Author's reply

Hi obsidianj. It certainly made the drive nicer for them all, keeping the parents and sons separated. And you're right. Olórin is far too relaxed, so whatever the surprise is, it can't be too bad. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

FV_Whisper · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 95: The Ride to Wiseman

It's good to see the gang from Wiseman is helping the brothers and parents to mend fences. The shock isn't over yet and all four of them will have some time going before things are smooth again, but it's a start. It would indeed be interesting to see if there are more Elves about like the ap Hywels, living among Mortals and what part they'll have to play in the Valar's masterplan. Mortal born is a term Iseult and Tristan will have to get used too. Now what is going on in Wiseman, that's the question that will keep us busy until friday (evil, evil monday cliffy lol! ) There was a reason why it was convenient the wedding date was delayed and I have a feeling what is going on now has something to do with it. Grinning at the tame Maiar comment, no most Maiar are not really what you would call tame. If there wasn't anything up yet, Olórin being there is a sure sign something is up! (And a good practice for the ap Hywels, yet another encounter with one of the powers). And Olórin is smirking just a little too much... Let's hope for Glorfindel's sake of surprises it's only the Maiar coming up with the own wedding decoration and needing to show off (somehow, I don't think that's the case lol) Speaking of both Olórin and geeky t-shirts in one chapter, I stumbled across some designs he might enjoy! http://wirdoudesigns.deviantart.com/art/You-Shall-Not-Pass-349124306 http://wirdoudesigns.deviantart.com/art/Fly-you-fools-350440607

FV_Whisper · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 94: Family Ties

Posted to soon... Seeing by their real Elven names and their parents, it seems the ap Hywel's have quite a thing with gemstones, now haven't they?

Author's reply

A lot of Elvish names incorporate some reference to gemstones and their names are not all that unusual for Elves.

FV_Whisper · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 94: Family Ties

Tristan and Iseult really don't know what's coming to them now, don't they? And Námo has his own way of getting some sense into them for sure. Now that things are out, they'll likely to be slowly opening up to the idea of more Elves and being part of an Elven society again. They've lived too long among mortals pretending to be Mortals and have truly forgotten what it is to be Elves. “Studiously polite as always, Findaráto, when what you are actually thinking, to put it in the vernacular of the Mortals of this day, is ‘What the hell does he want now?’” Ah yes, Námo has a way of putting things, but I think that's the question everyone has been asking. I suppose what Námo lacks of friends otherwise will be made up by the many reborns who are his friends all too likely. And Irmo should know better than to tease his brother in such a way! And I can understand the other Elves, not getting the joke, wanting to be out of the line between Námo and Finrod when the later asked! O my, Manwë sure must have had some fun with Glorfindel's comment and just needed to reply to that lol! Must have been quite the busy moment for the Valar. O yes, getting into trouble is Glori's special talent for sure! Now for the ancestors of the brothers and parents. *gin* this made me happy! One of my guesses was their Vanya ancestry came (partially) from one of them who came with the host during the War of Wrath, met a Sinda and stayed for some time. So Tulcafindil it is. I had to look him up at first, but remember him from the darkening story. I guess it didn't become anything with his female companion at that time after all though. I hope we hear more about their other ancestors. I still have some more guesses open lol O Námo, did you really have to drop the bomb about Nell like that? lol Well, I guess if he didn't do that, their parents might not have find out until the happy couple had actually gotten married in the end. It must have been quite a shock for Iseult and Tristan finding out, but they are clearly over reacting and blaming Gwyn in it is wrong and it's no wonder the way he's reacting on it. I think some quiet time to let things sink in would be in order for them. I don't know if that will happen any time soon though.

Author's reply

Hi FV_Whisper. Námo has had LOTS of practice getting people to open up and reveal their deepest, darkest secrets, so getting the ap Hywels to talk about their families was a snap for him. LOL! Hopefully, now that the floodgates have opened, so to speak, they'll be more forthcoming about their respective families and share their stories with their sons. And yes, they both overreacted to the news about Gareth and Nell, but shock will do that to you and hopefully when they calm down a bit they'll be more reasonable and see that blaming Gwyn doesn't help matters. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it.

Tira · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 95: The Ride to Wiseman

Hmmm...curiouser and curiouser. Heh, and I'm rather interested in hearing about Finda's stupid moment. Perhaps one day we will get lucky. Loving the story, as always.

Author's reply

Hi Tira. Maybe we'll find out about Finda's stupid moment someday. I'm glad you are still enjoying the story. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Kitty · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 95: The Ride to Wiseman

It is understandable that Gareth is a bit upset about how that meeting with Nell went. He missed out on a lot, and the fact that they didn't even know each other at all doesn't help. It has to be strange to be practically married to someone you don't know at all! Seeing that some of the Valinórean Elves know Tulcafindil and his wife, this might make things easier for Iseult and Tristan to finally start talking about their past. And knowing that there was a purpose behind their own staying and not sailing might help them to come to terms with the not so amiable parting with their families, who knows? At least I hope they won't take it badly. We all know not all Elves like to be influenced, after all. Oh, that would have been sad if Edhellond had been torn down. How good the Elves came along right in time. Do you think the Valar had something to do with the house being available? Now that is strange, all the Elves gone with no notice. I just hope there's not happened another catastrophe, like the attack on Glorfindel. Olórin turning up didn't help there, until he smirked so much. Then my first thought was if maybe Elrond and Celebrían have arrived with more wedding guests, seeing it's only two days away, but on the other hand, it doesn't seem to be making much sense to send them to the college, of all places, seeing as they don't really know anything about the world as it is now. That place would be a bit public for a first meeting, so I really don't know what to think. Oh well, only two more days and a few hours and I will hopefully know more.

Author's reply

Hi Kitty. I'm sure that having a whole year at least before the wedding, this will give Gareth and Nell plenty of time to get to know one another more and accept that they were "made for each other". Hopefully, meeting people who know Tulcafindil and his family will help the ap Hywels lighten up about things. Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Anyway, as to the mystery of why Edhellond was found deserted and why Olórin is leading them toward the college, you'll learn soon enough. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Kitty · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 94: Family Ties

Poor Tristan, he was so set on everything having to be proven, and that is going to upturn his world view once again. No wonder he had to touch Námo to convince himself he was real. And 'little tumult'? Fitting – for that's what he caused right now. *sigh* I really wish Tristan and Iseult would stop hiding who they actually are. It's not fair to their children, IMO. The ap Hywels – all four of them – have to be quite shocked about the familiar way the others, and particularly Glorfindel and Finrod, act around Námo. For them he's a forbidding, powerful figure, and there these two are joking with him and teasing him. Has to be quite the shock. That certificate from Manwë was great! What a fun way to prove at least one identity – and it should give Iseult and Tristan something to think that the Valar go to such lengths to back up Glorfindel and the others. In any case, I'd love to see that letter, too! Framing it would be the least to do with it – it's quite the treasure, when I think about it. Námo is right, they are denying their sons their identity, and that's not fair. Blending in with the Mortals is one thing, but practically denying that they are Elves is another matter altogether, and I don't think they are doing themselves any favour with that. That parting shot was so very Námo! Oh well, at least it forced poor Gareth to own up to what happened, and his parents took the identity of the ellith quite well, particularly after how they acted before. Now that's not fair, blaming Gwyn for what happened with Gareth and Nell. As if he forced them together! I hope they apolotise to him. Nice story about Námo having friends! By now, he has probably many fans, or more correctly friends, among the Reborn, as he is always there for them when they need him. He may come over as intimidating and stern when he wants to, but he can be so soft and friendly when necessary, too, and I think they all love him.

Author's reply

Hi Kitty. Tristan has allowed himself to forget what he was taught as an elfling about the universe, so Námo showing up as he did was quite the shock, but he prides himself as being a scientist, and the better scientists are always willing to discard outdated theories when new evidence comes to light, so I don't think he'll have too hard a time assimilating all this into his worldview again. I'm glad you like the story about Námo and Finrod's inside joke. I'm sure he's the envy of the other Valar with all the Reborn friends he has. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Kitty · 26 November 2014 · Chapter 93: Meeting the ap Hywels

Even after decades of experience, long drives make me tired, so it must be much worse for Finrod, who has nearly no practice yet and has to concentrate on stuff we would do in our sleep, so to speak. You know, I've read a lot of books about archaeology over the decades and was just thinking how they were struggling to find any details and answer so many questions even about cultures that got lost just a few hundred years ago. And then there are the Elves who saw the cultures get lost during the last ice age and to reawaken over time. If they wanted to, they could probably answer a good number of questions the scientists have. I can just picture the uproar and excitement if they'd do that – though it is clear they will not do it. But it's mind-boggling to think that they could answer so many questions because they have lived through all these earlier times. Not to mention knowing cultures we can't even discover any more because there is nothing left. Sometimes it's hard to wrap my mind around what it means to be immortal. Poor Gareth, he's so nervous, and understandable so. Tristan and Iseult are quite the contrast in appearance, though Tristan's shirt made me snicker. And then I had to think about the time when the son of my cousin lived with my aunt for a while. Auntie is as prim and proper as Iseult and loves elegant clothing, and her grandson at that time was into goth style, all black, blonde hair coloured black and blue, rings in nose and ear and a chain from nose to ear. Can you imagine these two together? Even worse than the ap Hywel parents! Now that was unexpected, Tristand and Iseult questioning the identity of the other Elves. It really doesn't make much sense; as the others said, the Mortals wouldn't care any way, as they don't know these old legends, so claiming wrong identities wasn't necessary. And they had these identities long before they meth Gwyn and Gareth, so it couldn't be just to impress the two. The ap Hywels didn't know about Glorfindel being in Imladris, and maybe not even about Elrond? Strange. Either they are way too young to remember these times and only know them from legends, too, or they have lived pretty secluded. Or both. *shakes head* While I think it would be wise to not believe everything and question some things, I get the feeling the ap Hywel parents are overdoing it in that regard. And it's an easy way out to demand proof, because they know perfectly well that they can't give any. No one gave out birth certificates back at Cuiviénen! You rang? and I get that reaction a lot? ROFL – that was so very like Námo! Oh, I had half expected for at least a Maia, if not a Vala to turn up after that, but that was just too hilarious! Our dear Lord of Mandos has a flair for the dramatic and theatralic, doesn't he?

Author's reply

Hi Kitty. Well, there was a time when Barahir was into archeology, before moving to Wiseman. It must've been amusing for him to listen to all the theories put forth about ancient cultures and he would have to bite his lips to keep from laughing at how wrong they were. Unfortunately, it would've been far too dangerous for him to reveal what he knew about the past, so he just kept quite, pretending to offer a different viewpoint for the sake of argument. I suspect that often his 'theories' were shot down by the 'experts'. Anyway, the ap Hywels have lived away from elven society for so long that they are naturally suspicious to have them suddenly pop up out of nowhere (literally and geographically speaking). At any rate, I think Námo cured them of that in a big way. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 25 November 2014 · Chapter 95: The Ride to Wiseman

Atya, Curiouser and curiouser, to quote another favourite book of mine. :) But I imagine Olorin knows what he's about, even if the rest of them have no idea... My guess? Earendil brought Tristan and Iseult's families to join them for the wedding. Oh, and Celeborn, Galadriel, Elrond, Celebrian...and the Valar. *grin* Anyway, I'm probably completely wrong, but I'll see soon. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IeF9xfvyJQ I thought I had better share this with you in honor of Gwyn and Gareth's parents. This is what I think of whenever I see their names... Have a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have lots of fun :) Tye-melin, Atya. Kaylee

Hi Kaylee. Well, you won't have long to wait to know if you're right or not about the surprise. *grin* The story of Tristan and Iseult is quite famous (Wagner did an entire opera about them) and typically Celtic. Thanks for reviewing. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, too. Tye-melin.
