Lovely. I suspected Aragorn would have given them horses, but this makes a stronger relationship. The hobbit gifts were just perfect. Thank you.
Author's reply
Thank *you*! There were a few ways those horses could have been given (or earned), so I'm very pleased you like the result. :)
addie71 · 12 October 2013 · Chapter 10: Kingly Gifts
Oh, me dear, what a lovely, lovely chapter. It was so fitting and moving to know that Halbarad’s son Cîrbarad was the first Steward of the Northern Kingdom. And it was heartwarming to know that the gifts from the Travellers were perfect reflections of the givers as well as being perfect gifts for the King. I loved every word of this.
Author's reply
What a lovely, lovely review! Thank you, Addie. I always envisioned this story as a gentle, loving one, and hope that each chapter reflects that. It was fun to imagine what types of gifts the hobbits would bring their dear friend and King.

I hope those secrets reveal any time sooner.. can't wait to read more more and more...
Author's reply
Thank you so much. All will be revealed very soon. :)
lovethosehobbits · 16 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Another enchanting chapter! Sorry it has been so long since I have had a chance to review it.
Author's reply
I'm so happy you're enjoying this, my friend. I certainly know how little time you've had this summer to relax over fanfic. *hugs you*
Antane · 14 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Sorry it has taken me so long to get to this, my dear shirebound. I love the ending - Frodo's joy and the light shining so brightly just as Gandalf guessed it might - love how you described it and Merry and Pippin's reaction and that Sam already knows the big secret. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
the light shining so brightly just as Gandalf guessed it might... That's exactly it! *happy bounces* Thank you so much for your sweet comment.
Estelcontar · 11 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! A surprise for Aragorn! As a great lover of Aragorn and of surprises, your chapter just made my evening! I can't wait to see what the surprise is. I'm sure it will move Aragorn very much.
Author's reply
I hope I didn't write that part badly! The surprise is *from* Aragorn. Actually, he has two surprises in store that I hope you enjoy.
Anonymous · 11 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
amber was sacred to their people, and only the leaders of a Ruling Clan were permitted to wear it. Hmmm, I have this feeling that they might make an exception when it comes to the King Elessar :) And now I'm dying to know what that surprise is!!
Author's reply
You're right... they just might make an exception! :)
Andrea · 8 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
it was as if the light from the Lady’s starglass had moved inside him, somehow. How wonderful - even more so because Merry and Pippin are able to see it :-) And still we have at least two more events to look forward to: the contest and the surprise!
Author's reply
Knowing that there are so many folks who find joy in Frodo living healed and loved... *happy bounces* Thank you, Andrea. I'm really delighted that you're enjoying this tale.
Fiondil · 8 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Ah, Aragorn has a surprise in store for everyone. Can't wait to find out what it is. And that was shrewd of Frodo to tell them about the pearls that had been lost. I'm sure there will be a good deal of horse trading over those pearls now. *grin*
Author's reply
I'm very glad you like the idea about the pearls. I'm sure the visitors have been trying very hard to come up with something they could offer in trade for horses. Aragorn had one surprise planned even before he left Minas Tirith, but since getting to know the visitors, there might be something else as well.... :)
Dreamflower · 7 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Oooh! Secrets! I love your secrets! I can't wait to find out! (But I guess I'll have to!) ;)
Author's reply
Awwwww, thank you. :) Aragorn and I hope you enjoy his surprise(s).
Linda Hoyland · 7 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
It is good to see the Snowmen so accepted. I would love to read a sequel in which Aragorn and the Hobbits visit them.
Author's reply
I would love to read one, too! I've planned, when I post the final chapter, to invite folks to write their own tales or short scenes about that if they're inspired to do so.
Larner · 7 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Sam has seen it for years, and now it is visible to his beloved cousins as well. Beautifully done!
Author's reply
Thank you! Indeed, how could Frodo's radiance not be obvious to those who love him?
addie71 · 7 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Frodo was now so free with laughter, and shining so brightly, it was as if the light from the Lady’s starglass had moved inside him, somehow. ~ That is so moving. I'm glad Merry and Pippin were able to see it. I love how the dogs that the people were so nervous about were the very things that opened them up to the Snowmen.
Author's reply
I appreciate you highlighting that line! I wasn't sure how to end this chapter, but then Frodo started laughing, and... :) I do have quite a soft spot for dogs. *beams*
UTfrog · 7 September 2013 · Chapter 9: A Fair Exchange
Great chapter. I love the idea of the Snowmen's pearls being used in the path. Glad the dogs satisfied everyone that they were friendly.
Author's reply
Thank you so much. I had such a good time imagining all the little parts of this chapter. :)
Andrea · 1 September 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
Great chapter! I like it that He-An and his people are getting along so well with the others. And that Elanor experiences dreams like Frodo did, is also very fitting. After all, she IS very special! But what I liked most - of course - was this: “I’m the luckiest hobbit who ever lived, Aragorn.” That makes me happy, too :-)
Author's reply
That makes *me* happy, too! Frodo loved and contented and surrounded by his friends and family... that's the true heart of this series. Thank you, Andrea.
layne · 20 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
That's a lovely and ... peaceful update, with everyone being contented and all. Love the singing session. What I wouldn't give to hear Arwen and Pippin, and Gimli of course, singing. I totally understand Aragorn's reasonings for forbidding men to enter The Shire, but how I wish that he and his family could still visit their hobbit-friends there!
Author's reply
Thank you. How we wish we could attend a happy gathering in Middle-earth like that! Since this is part of my AU series, I debated whether Aragorn would still enforce the 'ban' in this story... but decided to leave it in. Frodo & Co. will (I'm sure) make many trips south to visit the King and his family.
Antane · 17 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
Sorry it has taken me so long to get this! This is such a sweet ending. Definitely sounds like one of the reason Frodo considers himself so lucky is because he can spend time with his 'nieces and nephews' like Elanor and all. I have 10 reasons to feel so lucky myself and I love to have another thing in common with our dear! ;) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
You're indeed blessed, Aunt Antane. :) I'm glad you enjoyed this gentle chapter.
whisperer · 16 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
wheeww.. i cannot wait more to finish this tale... then i am the luckiest reader :)
Author's reply
What a truly lovely compliment. Thank you.
Linda Hoyland · 16 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
I love your vision of a healed Frodo able to enjoy the fruits of his labours and enjoy a long friendship with Aragorn. How wonderful that Elanor should have prophetic dreams!
Author's reply
Thank you! In this AU, I can't imagine Frodo being anything but healed, loved, and completely at peace. What a joy to write!
Linda Hoyland · 16 August 2013 · Chapter 7: Common Ground
How wonderful that the death of the Witch King should benefit these people too. I love the cuture you have created for them. My apologies for being so behind, I need to clear out my mailbox so I'll find the story alerts for those I look forward to!
Author's reply
Thank you for reading, Linda. I don't think I've ever created a culture for a race of people before, and it's challenging and fun to build on the tiny clues the Professor left for us.
Estelcontar · 14 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
What a charming and enjoyable chapter. I so love seeing the Ice Men getting along so well with our friends. I do also love Aragorn's sense of humour. Can't wait to read the next one.
Author's reply
Awwww, thank you. Our beloved friends in Middle-earth certainly deserve their peaceful and happy times after so many difficult ones. Aragorn (in my AU, at least) has always felt so comfortable around the hobbits, it's a pleasure to highlight his 'lighter side'.
Dreamflower · 13 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
*grin* You are the first thing I am reviewing on my new computer! This is such a delightful chapter, and it's so lovely to see all the ways in which the new people can interact with the people of Arnor! I loved the idea of Elanor's dreams! This is such a delightful AU!
Author's reply
I'm honored! Congratulations on your new baby, and may you have many fun years together. :) When everyone in a group tries very hard to get along and be respectful, it's wonderful what bonds can be created. And I always felt that there had to be something very special about Elanor; it's such a pleasure to share what I've imagined about her. Thank you so much!
Larner · 13 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
Such a gentle and sweet evening, in which they learn so much of one another. Love that Elanor has the same gift that Frodo has known, and that she loves the dogs.
Author's reply
I was really looking forward to writing about this evening; there was so much I wanted them all to say to one another. I'm very happy you enjoyed it!
UTfrog · 13 August 2013 · Chapter 8: All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
What a lovely evening everyone enjoyed. Good food stories, friends, and dogs. Perfect.

Thank you so much. I enjoyed experiencing this evening as it unfolded.
