· Chapter 43: Epilogue: Another Conversation Among the Valar
Oh, nicely done! Still a few loose ends but they are not going any were just yet.
No, I don't think Maglor, or the Harthadrim will be living any were but fairly close to each other and I don't think Maglor will be too far from his Naneth and brothers.
Irmo is not thinking this through properly, with beach front property and a nature preserve he will have elves flocking to Lorien, he could make a bundle and retire to Tahiti!
Sorry to see this one end, it will be going on the e-reader, might even try to put it on the tablet, I still haven't made it in to the valley for driving lessons for it, maybe Friday, I am off that day. I am working the 4th, but hopefully it will be fairly quiet and at least they are feeding us so it should not be too bad.
Looking forward to your next story,
Have a happy 4th,
Huggs,
Lynda
Author's reply
Hi Lynda. I suspect you are right that Maglor and the Harthadrim will be sticking close together and that they will all join Maglor's brothers and naneth in their new settlement and become one big happy family.
That's too funny about Irmo. I love your take on him.
Next story will start on Friday, so you have something to look forward to on your day off. Good luck working on the 4th.
Thanks for all your reviews and your oopsie alerts. I appreciate your eagle eyes. Hugs.

What a beautiful ending to this long difficult epic in the life of Maglor. It is so good to see Maglor getting the healing and hope and future he and his family deserve. I love the family Maglor has now as well as the hope for a future with the family he will rejoin.
“Well, if he does come, I refuse to reconfigure Lórien with beachfront property,” Irmo declared with a huff and they all laughed. LOL!
Who ever would have guessed that some who did not heed the call would go on to form the Elf Academy???
Author's reply
Hi Ellie. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for all your help in making this a great story. I appreciate it very much. And yeah, who woulda thunk it? *grin*

I rejoice that these are returned home at last, and are finally knowing the peace they both require and desire. And the plans for the future sound --sound, at least. And I see that room remains for those who become the core of the Elf Academy to remain until the time comes for their purpose to be made manifest. Well done. And another maze? Hope they don't find themselves totally disoriented before they are ready for it, knowing what becomes of those who find themselves in Namo's mazes!
Author's reply
Hi Larner. Oh, this maze is one of Irmo's for the enjoyment of the Reborn or anyone else recoverying in Lórien for whatever reason, so the only real danger is forgetting how to get back to the entrance once one has found the center. *grin*
Anyway, I'm glad you rejoice in how Maglor and the others have returned home and last and are finally knowing some peace. And yes, we do get a hint of those Elves who remained behind to become the core of Elf Academy.
Thanks for taking the time to read and leave reviews. I've appreciated them all immensely.

Metta? Metta?? Nooooooo! *sigh* Okay, this *is* a good stopping place for this wonderful homecoming story, I'll give you that. But this...
"“We will not allow them to meet alone and in fact I plan to monitor that meeting very carefully. Unlike his brothers, who have passed through Námo’s realm and been purged of all their darkness, Macalaurë still has darkness in him, though the greater darkness has finally been purged with his renunciation of his Oath. It will take some time for him, for all of them, to be purged of what darkness still clings to them and enter into our Peace.”
I wanna see this!! I wanna see it NOW!!!! *toddler stomps* *crosses arms* *pouts*
Okay, little tantrum over. I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this story (even the end, despite the tantrum *g*). It was such a fulfilling thing to see Maglor finally coming home and overcoming (most) of the darkness, and truly, I have no problem with an ending that doesn't tie up all the loose strings. I'll miss the updates on this story, but hopefully you'll return to Maglor at some point and give us, as Paul Harvey used to say, the rest of the story. In the meantime, good luck on whatever story you're writing next.
Author's reply
LOL! Oh I imagine you're not the only one to be having a tantrum over the ending, Cairistiona, but I am glad you agree that this was a good stopping place. There amy or may not be a sequel to this story sometime in the distant future, but in the meantime, I have another story that I will begin posting on Friday that I hopw will keep you entertained and I am in the middle of writing Elf Academy 3 if you've been following that series, so something to look forward to. Thanks again for all your wonderful reviews. I've enjoyed them very much.

*applauds* A marvelous, masterful story, full of emotion, suspense, and surprises, and also delightful humor such as:
I do not recall Atar telling us to close up shop and come home.
I can redesign part of Lórien as a wilderness preserve
*grins* Well done, my friend.

Thank you, Shirebound. I'm so glad you loved the story, especially the humor, and I appreciate all your reviews. On to the next project.

Oh no, its over :'(
But I'm glad that it was a truly happy ending for Maglor, coming home to his family and having his own family now too. It was a very beautiful tale and wonderful while it lasted. I will miss the updates.
But there are so many other stories that could be told from here too. I wish I could beg you to write of Olorin's adventures when he goes back to Middle-Earth, together with Fionwe and their fellow Maiar. That should be fun.
Anyway, I remember you did mention that you will be starting another story soon (you didn't think I'd forget that, did you?), so I'm really looking forward to that :-)
Author's reply
Hi Celeth. Yeah, it's over, but who knows? Maybe there'll be a sequel sometime in the future, the Muse and Eru willing.
At anyrate, I'm glad you enjoyed this story and I appreciate you taking the time to let me know with your wonderful reviews.
I will be posting the new story beginning on Friday. It's about as long as this one was so you'll be reading it through the rest of the year. That gives me time to be working on Elf Academy 3 *grin*
Thanks again for your reviews. I very much appreciated them all.

Lovely conclusion to a great story. I liked having an idea of where everyone would finally settle. I also like the subtle references to the Elf Academy series. Great job all around. May you have a great summer.

Hi UTfrog. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story and found the ending to your liking. A new story will be up on Friday and I hope you enjoy reading that one as well. It's a bit different from what I usually write. Thanks for all your reviews. They were gratefully appreciated.

A truly fair and well balanced judgement. It was very good to see Elrond and his parents stand there beside Maglor - I do love the idea of the twins making traps for him when they were first with him and his brother.
To spend time in Lorien seems a perfect thing - and it was good to see Arthalion reunited with his brother - now, perhaps, to see Maglor reunited with some of his.
Author's reply
Hi curiouswombat. I thought it was a fair judgment and I don't think anyone will go away complaining. And the Harthadrim do need space and time to adjsut to their new home and Lórien is the perfect place for it. In some ways they're almost like Reborn in that respect, so having Finrod help them through the transition is only right. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's greatly appreciated.

Fiondil this is so wonderful and I feel like I can finally come away from the edge of that cliff and breathe again!! Jeez louise, you know how to drive the emotional roller coaster!

Hi Kevana. So how do you paste in pictures like this? That is so cool. I'm glad you're feeling happy through the tears and no longer teetering on the edge of the cliff. Hooray that Arthad is reunited with Arthalion, and that all have heard the judgment given by the Valar, and that the renunciation is now a matter of record throughout all of Aman. And that Elrond and his parents greeted Maglor as lovingly as they did speaks volumes. I'd not thought of Elrond and Elros seeking to kill Maglor myself, or not doing so repeatedly. Yet in his way in your-verse he was modeling the love he knew in his heart was true toward the Children by the Valar and Iluvatar Himself, preparing both for their own joyful futures.

Beautiful, just perfect.
Finally Elrond and Maglor. I'm happy with their reunion. Now his family....
I'm not sure where is Elrond now in Valinor, did he create a little Imladris for himself and his people? I wonder if we was hoping for his kids were coming with the Harthadrim.
I'm curious if the Harthadrim will keep together or they will go with their families...It seems that Maglor's kids have been picked by different Valars.
And Arthalion and his brother, what a beautiful reunion and he is now a Harthadrim.
I'm going out for vacation, I won't be reviewing but for sure I'll be reading, just to let you know that I'm not quitting this story.
Thank you
Author's reply
Hi Fantasia. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. Some of your questions, I can't answer because I don't know for sure, but I suppose it doesn't really matter at this point. The important thing is Maglor's been publically reconciled with the Valar and Arthalion and Arthad are reunited and Arthalon has been declared not guilty of kinslaying.
Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Have a great vacation.

What a beautiful chapter, I totally expected Earendil, Elwing and Elrond to speak for him!!! :) Seems like just the thing to be done for the love and care he poured to the twins... and that memory of Elrond was too lovely, hahahaha, Maglor explaning how the trap should have been done to be able to kill him, I can totally see it!!!
Although I must say I'm dissapointed in the three Kings and Queens two of them (Olwe and Arafinwe) said they had forgiven him but when it is time to stand up to it in front of everyone they chicken out or more to the point with hold a public "pardon" before the Valar and the rest of Aman, even if it is only for apperances they should have spoken up.
Author's reply
Hi Monalex. The whole thing was carefully orchestrated, as we see it hinted by the fact that even Finrod did not speak up, but he had already discussed what should be done with the Harthadrim with the Valar beforehand. More than likely the Valar told the kings not to do or say anything, to allow others to speak if they wished. Eärendil and Elwing and Elrond were the best choice for giving a public display of forgiveness toward Maglor, for they were the most injured by his actions.
I'm glad, though, that you enjoyed the sharing of memories between Maglor and Elrond.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a coment. I greatly appreciate it.

Please delete previous review. (That'll learn me to review before my first cup of tea, or I could blame the cat, she got me up at 5:50 a.m. to help her hunt for a critter in the bedroom, that cat has got to learn how to operate a flash light for herself!)
So, one more time:-
Just a few eyes to cross and tees to dot! Or is there more, pretty please we have to see Maglor meet with his family.
Good to see Arthalion reunite with his brother and to know that he is not guilty of Kin Slaying!
I'm awake now, I think?
Huggs,
Lynda

No problem, Lynda. I knew what you meant. Thanks for sending a corrected review, though. Yes, just one more chapter and we will be bringing this story to a close, but there's another waiting in the wings and I'll start posting that story right after the Fourth. So stay tuned. Hehehe, I didn't think Thranduil would want to be without his Dorwinion wine - so he took Dorwinion grapevines with him. I wonder if he also decided to go into the winemaking business? Just to be assured that he would have _good_ wine available, of course... ;)
I see Maglor is being very much the proud father when he compares Estel's lamps with one of the ones in Oromë's house. :)
So wonderful that Eärendil himself came forward to speak for Maglor! And the interaction between Maglor and Elrond was also great!
So the Harthadrim are all going to Lórien for a while to rest and to figure out how to integrate into Valinórean society. And letting Finrod oversee this? Pure genius! He is such a wonderfully compassionate person, and yet, being a Reborn, he might well decide to tutor some of the younger Harthadrim in the Art of Driving the Valar Batty if that is going to help their with integration. ;)
And of course *reaches for the box of Kleenex* the meeting between Arthad and Arthalion was wonderful, and greatly anticipated.
Author's reply
Hi Sunny. Finrod is certainly the best one for the job of overseeing the Harthadrim's integration into Amanian society, having had to do it himself once.
I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, especially the reunion between Arthalion and Arthad. Definitely a 3-hanky moment.

Wow. I cried at the end of this one. I so love how they all gathered around Maglor when he truly needed them. Namo has a sense of humor, a bit dark but still. I like it...as long as it isn't aimed at me. They wouldn't need to water the trees for a very long time if I would have been there. LOL

Thank you again for writing. I am enjoying this enormously and always look forward for Mondays and Fridays. Many moving moments in these last few chapters. The public apology in Alqualonde, Maglor's family appalled by the dreadful Feanorian oath, Arthalion's steadfast loyalty... I also loved lighter episodes, like Galadriel acting all sour when faced with these people who make rude jokes despite (and unfittingly for) their high station. Go Galadriel, somebody should tell them off :) The image of Maedhros' in Lorien made me wonder how Feanor himself would have behaved if reborn. How his version of immature behaviour would have looked? (I know that he is not supposed to be released until the end of the world, but still fun to imagine this).
Author's reply
Hi Twoflower2. I am glad you are enjoying this story. And there are indeed many moving moments, especially in these last few chapters, but I like (and prefer) the lighter moments. They're more fun to write, for obvious reasons. And that's an interesting question about Fëanor. I've never thought of how a Reborn Fëanor would be like. Too bad we'll never know.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's very much appreciated.
