That was quite a picture. Aunt Ivriniel in a pink! donkey cart drivig ahead of the Rohirrim. That is too funny. That was an unexpected turn. Ivriniel drinking Arak. Who would have thought.
Author's reply
Hi Obsidianj,
yes, Ivriniel has hidden depths ;-D And an impeccable taste for colour of course...

Oh, no. Now Eomer helps in creating 2 Lothiriels, although he doesn't know it yet. The plot gets more and more involved. I think in the end nobody can disentangle it anymore. All are involved in either creating more twists or abetting preposterous ideas. Imrahil and, it seems especially, Elphir will throw a fit when they find out. I think Elphir needs a lesson. Letting a friend speak about Lothiriel (and women in general) like that without telling him to take a hike.
Author's reply
I actually had some problems myself keeping the plot straight in my mind at all times, it got so convoluted. As for Elphir, he's in for a set-down by Eomer, but you might have reached that bit by now. One of those scenes that are a pleasure to write.

This chapter made me laugh. The plan gets more and more preposterous. Lothiriel digs herself deeper and deeper into a hole. It doesn't help that she finds willing helpers. The hole just gets deeper. And garlic to drive Eomer away? A good thought if he never eats garlic. But I have the suspicion that garlic is commonly used in Dol Amroth, and then it doesn't work...
Author's reply
She doesn't just dig, she digs with a plan in mind, that's even more dangerous ;-D
And what you said about the garlic suddenly made me wonder if it would work against nazgûls (the equivalent of vampires in Middle Earth?). There's a plot bunny...

Oh, boy. Lothiriel is getting deeper and deeper into trouble. Eomer will find out... and then she will be truly caught. Now on to read the next chapters of this charade.
Author's reply
Yes, this Lothiriel is a great digger of holes for herself ;-)

Finally, I have time to start reading this story. Eomer and forgetting that kiss? Yeah, right, dream on. Lothiriel is setting herself up for a deep fall. And this time she has co-conspirators. I don't think Lothiriel's plan will work, but that is the whole point of this story;-). I love to see how you make her wind and struggle, to get out of this fix.
Author's reply
Hello obsidianj,
and nice hearing from you again! You are of course right that Lothiriel has made a bit of a misjudgement there concerning the memorability of her kiss - but then she lacks practise (at the moment...).

This was a great chapter. Eomer is such a typical stubborn man! At lease he saw sense in the end. I'm sorry this is almost over. Wishing you a happy Christmas.
Author's reply
Hello Linda,
they're both pretty stubborn, aren't they ;-D But as you said, at least he knows when to take a leap of faith.
Happy Holidays to you as well!

the Gondorians will probably put another explanation on the hurried wedding, but I don't think Eomer and Lothriel care ;-)

Yay! Another fantastic chapter! Everything is finally sorted out - and done very well, I thought. Not too quick, or too easy for either of them, instead just the right amount of disbelief and realization. I can't wait to see what the wedding will be like.
Also, Hild is now my hero, I think.
Merry Christmas, my dear! Have a fantastic time of it.
Author's reply
Hello Imladris,
yes, I thought that it wouldn't be believable if everything just resolved into bliss without some inner struggle on both their parts.
As for the wedding...ehm...I'm afraid I won't show that. The next chapter will wrap up the story some more and then the epilogue is set some years later. I've done so many weddings (and wedding nights) that I wanted to do something different with this story.
And a very Merry Christmas to you as well!

I love her stubborness. A good match for Eomer indeed! What an excellent display of the same behavior he was exhibiting. that was sweet that he called her Gliwen there when he came by and picked her up.

These two stubborn children do deserve one another! I'm rather proud of her, really. At least the rain has cooled his temper, as he realizes she does not take this situation lightly! And of course she had to do the traveling without her father's blessing--again! She does tend to behave precipitously!
Author's reply
Hello Larner,
I think the Rohirrim will actually be quite impressed by her too. And what is a father's absence good for except to play truant? Poor, clueless Imrahil ;-)

Fantastic as always! I love Lothíriel's stubbornness - her refusing to leave until Eomer talked to her was a stoke of brilliance. Her stubbornness, as a match for Eomer's temper, is a thing to behold!

they seem to be well matched in that respect, don't they? The working title for this chapter was actually 'Occupy Edoras' ;-D

Awww - love her in this chapter - good thing she's so stubborn! Sometimes you have to be to get through to the other side; it appears that the irresistible force met the immoveable object. :-) And I had to chuckle - the first time he encountered her, she was a puddle of tears. Now she's a puddle thanks to the rain. What was that you said about fire and ice turning into puddles?? I hope they can negotiate their relationship in the future so that she doesn't always have to become a drowned rat to get his attention!
Author's reply
Hello Lyana,
lol, you're right about the puddles! But don't worry, the Meduseld household will do their best to turn her out presentable again, after all they have a considerable stake in having a non-grumpy Eomer again ;-D

Hello Larner,

Eomer... please don't do something stupid. Please don't do something stupid. Please don't do something stupid.
I'm really proud of Lothíriel for telling him the truth. It was never going to be easy; but the tangle of lies was getting too much - so as much as it's hurt her and caused more problems, at least it's out in the open.
Fantastic as ever!

Hello Imladris,
I'm not sure Eomer can hear you ;-D And I agree with you that Lothiriel is better off with telling the truth - at least in the long term. Short term I'm not so sure...

Author's reply
Hello galathil,
the problem might lie with 'letting Lothiriel explain'. And also Eomer being Eomer the 'calming down' might take a while ;-)

What a horrible interlude for both of them! :-( Hard to imagine how it might have gone worse, and it certainly did take a huge amount of courage on her part. But I hope someone can talk sense into Eomer soon...

yes, she didn't really choose a good moment - although there would have been no good one anyway. As for somebody talking sense into Eomer, he's rather pigheaded at times...
