"If only your uncle had stayed home!" lol... :-P I hear ya, Frodo! Hello Myst! I'm sitting here with a bowl of popcorn and a sody pop; I'm here for the long haul. In dial up, that means at least two chapters! You know, until ROTK came out, I often thought the same thing about Frodo; why was his ending so sad? When Gandalf had the Afterlife talk with Pippin, and Pearl pointed out to me the color in Frodo's cheeks upon boarding the white ship, I then understood. Plus, a little of life's sad experiences go a long way. Here's to a good story: Salute! (raises her Pepsi can). Pippinfan

Hi there! I am so glad you enjoyed tht prologue. Part of my continued effort to find just the right way to market this story. I think I lose a lot of readers by making it take so long for either of the main characters to come into it. Still the ones that stay with me, seem to be loyal and that is worth a lot. I can understand why Tolkien had things end for Frodo as he did. I believe it is the right and true way. I just also thought it sounded lonely. And yes, the sad expeariences can go a long way. Some will haunt forever. Frodo's smile at the end of ROTK, *sigh* it is breath taking. I thank Peter Jackson for making clear what I don't think Tolkien did, that leaving with the elves would be a good thing for Frodo. I am so looking forward to seeing what you think of this story since you are not a tremendous Frodo fan. It will be a new perspective. Slainte, Mys

This is good. I wonder when they will discover that link/"lost spells" thing. Good luck.

Oh, this was such a wonderful chapter! I loved it and again, you've moved me. :) Keep up the good work, it's coming along great!
Keener · 20 January 2004 · Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen
Such a great chapter. I loved the snowball fight! It was great to see everyone having fun and being happy again for having been so troubled before. Frodo and Linwe's love for each other is truly blossoming! Thanks again so much for writing this fanfic! :) .~Keener~.
Author's reply
The snowball fight is one of those bits of whimsy that hit me when I least expected it. I think I was taking my son to preschool at the time. Thank you so much for reading and telling me what you like. It is wonderful to hear that someone reading this is getting out of it what I did when I wrote it. I could talk forever about this story and Frodo and Linwe, but I guess the story speaks for itself. Thank you, Mys
Miriel · 20 January 2004 · Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen
Oh, hooray! Another chapter! I do love this so much. I'm so glad that Frodo and Linwe are falling in love! Well, I know Linwe is... I loved the snowball fight, it was just...so cute. :-) There were some minor spelling errors in this chapter, I can't remember them now; along with extra letters. Just little things. Do you have a beta reader? (If not, I'd be more than happy to help.) Anyway, thanks for another wonderful chapter! Cheers!
Author's reply
I wrote this chapter months ago, but it all becomes new again when you and my other readers tell me what your favorite bits were. The snowball fight is definately one of my favorite parts in the whole story. Thank you for mentioning the typos and for offering to do beta reading for me. I am sorry to say that I do have someone doing that job for me I just got impatient and posted the last several chapters without letting them go through his inspection. I think he is over worked (I am not the only writer he works for) but he is a dear freind who would be sad if I took the job from him. I may come to you later. I have other story ideas coming to mind and I could not possibly saddle him with any more work. Thank you so very much for the offer. I will not forget it. Mys Author Reply: Hi Miriel! I was wondering if your offer to beta for me is still good. If it is I would love to have you do the work for me. I just talked to my current acting editor and he finally admitted that he does not have the time to do the work for me. You would be perfect for the job. You love the story, you love the characters. I would be very comfortable with you helping me out, and I desperately need the help. e-mail me at kemhulse@msn.com If you will take the job. Thank You, Mys
Keener · 16 January 2004 · Chapter 14: Chapter Fourteen
Again, you've almost made me cry! This chapter was very moving and I think it's great that Frodo and Linwe are each other's confident now. It will help them both having someone to talk to who shares the same loss. There's no doubt about it, Frodo and Linwe were made for each other! Keep the updates coming, I can't wait to see what comes next! Your story is just like reading an interesting book that you just can't put down! :)
Author's reply
Your review is enough to make me cry. :) I am sorry I keep making you put this "book" down. Ethusiastic responses like this make me want to post the whole story now. Chapter Fifteen is currently getting spiffed up and ready for it's debut. Hopefully it will not take me long to get that done. Thank You, Mys
Miriel · 16 January 2004 · Chapter 14: Chapter Fourteen
Oh, goodie, they're finally talking! At first I wasn't sure if they were going to, but now that they have...yay! The scenes with them together are beautiful. I truly do enjoy them. Thank goodness that you updated! I was just looking at this story sadly again yesterday, hoping that you hadn't forgotten about it. :) Oh, one more thing, I think you may have forgotten a sentence at the end of the chapter: Frodo smiled, a bit sadly "It does in a way. You get used to it I think and learn to sort of step around it and keep going on." Turning away, Linwe nodded her head once as though in agreement, then started walking back towards the Cotton farm, without letting go of Frodo’s hand. The words were few but they were enough. Not even the Gaffer could stand up to the fury he saw in the gaze Linwe had fixed on him. In a quiet voice, he said "Yes Ma’am," and made his way back to his room. "The words were few?" his words? Her words? Huh? I think I'm missing something... Anyway, I love love love love this chapter!! Please update soon!
Author's reply
Bless You! Bless You! Bless You! Every now and then the site will take some bit of the story from one spot and put it where it does not belong. That line about the Gaffer belonged way back in the first part of the chapter. I did not catch the error when I skimmed over the preview. It is a shame because that misplacement of the sentence kind of messes up the scene where ti goes and detracts from the ending. Of well, it is fixed. I am so glad you liked the chapter. I will try to get back to my schedule of once a week posts. Thank You Again! Mys
Miriel · 12 January 2004 · Chapter 13: Chapter Thirteen
Sorry it took so long to review, I just realized that this was up! Oh my goodness! We have arrived! And the moment was just as lovely as I anticipated. You really must update this soon. I'm dying to know what they will do, what they will say, now that they have found the one with whom their hearts have been entwined for so long.
Author's reply
Was it just what you had hoped? I am so glad. I am in the process of working out the kinks on fourteen. It has some really lovely bits in it and there is a scene with Frodo and Linwe that I consider the point at which I really became a writer, and learned how to use words to paint a picture. I hope to have it up soon. Mys
Keener · 6 January 2004 · Chapter 13: Chapter Thirteen
Wow! Every time I read this it just keeps getting better. I loved this chapter and chapter 12, since they seem to be the happiest. Also, Linwe finally met Frodo! I love how although they've just met, it seems they're already in love. :) Again, this is a very beautiful and touching story. Keep up the good work!

Oh my! Iu have been away from this for too long. I posted all of that before the holidays got into full swing and I have not made it back. It is a good day to find such lovely reviews waiting for me. Thank You! Mys
Keener · 19 December 2003 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven
I have been reading this fanfic since the beginning, and it just gets better. Keep up the good work! I am also a writer, and I think it's inspiring as well as fun to read fellow writer's works and to see their thought process put down on paper (or computer for that matter!) Anyway, I think this story is great and has at times nearly moved me to tears! Once again, great job! ^_^
Author's reply
Thank you so much for this glowing review. Actually my writing process involves both paper and the computer. I start off by writing everything in a spiral bound notebook. Then I type it all up on my computer generally making massive changes. I save my notebooks and many of the early computer drafts so that I can see how far I have com in developing this. It is so very cool that we have fan fiction sites to post what we have been working on and read what other people are doing. I have read some really neat stories from emerging writers and seasoned writers as well. I only wish I had time to read more than I do. I do not consider myself to be a writer. I draw and paint. However last April I was talking to my freind Pearl Took, about this idea I had for an alternative ending for Frodo. Pearl is a fabulous writer, it come to her so much more naturally than it comes to me. I highly recomend you read her work. Anyhoo, Pearl liked my idea and encouraged me to actually write it. Pearl may not have started this fire but she has encouraged it to keep burning. I aspire to be as good as she is. I am honored that my story has moved you to tears. Thank You again! MysteriousWays

This was a powerful chapter. I like Esmeralda. :) Oh, good, the Ring is destroyed. Now Frodo can come home! Ah, I suppose updates will not be as frequent during the Holidays? That's alright, I won't be here as much. I love this, and more people should review!

My apologies for having not reviewed, I haven't been able to come here for a while. This is an excellent chapter, and I love how she has reconnected with...the elf whose name escapes me. Her lonlieness only adds to the joy that will come when she meets Frodo. Please update soon!

It is good to see you again! With the holidays upon us I am figuring things will be quieter here for a bit. I am always happy when anyone has the time to stop on for a visit. I am so glad you like the chapter. I have this urge to post all that I have right a way, but the reality is that I am currently struggling to make needed changes to chapter eleven. I can hardly wait for Frodo and Linwe to meet myself.
Without a Name · 27 October 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
Hmm, this is very interesting. I like that you have given Linwe more of a history, and I think that the connection between her and Frodo is intrigueing. I don't normally like Frodo romances, because I DO NOT approve of slash, and the OC's aren't usually well developed enough, but I'm enjoying this one so far. Keep up the good work - I especially look forward to when they realize what is happening.
Author's reply
Thank you for the review who ever you are. You are not the first person to express appreaciation for my developement of Linwe. I have spent a lot of time getting to know her, talking about her with my writing mentor, I have written pages about her in my journals. I think some readers have been put off by my starting off the story with having the focus so strongly on Linwe, but it had to be that way. I am greatful to those of you who have given her a chance and have stayed with the story. You are all a truly wonderful audience. MysteriousWays
Miriel · 20 October 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
THAT is so incredible! I love how she feels what Frodo feels, and even has physical signs. (the bruise) I can't imagine what will happen when Frodo reaches Mordor... Yes, the Tooks most certainly have had odd going-ons in their bloodline. Oh, do update soon! (Although I believe that you update on...Mondays, is it?)
Author's reply
Yes, I do try to post new chapters every monday. In hact I need to scooch along and be sure Chapter eight is at least partially presentable though it has not been through my editor yet. I felt that the best canidate to offer Frodo a chance at romantic love would have to be a lass who could on some level relate to what he has been through. Personal beliefs and expeariences of my own led me to the idea of their having these shared expeariences. I have had this story kicking around in my head for over a year. I went through many different scenarios on how this could play out before I settled on this one that I feel is the most believable. Thanks again for letting me know how much you are enjoying the story. MysteriousWays :)
Miriel · 14 October 2003 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six
Oh no! They just missed the hobbits...I guess that we will have to go through more anxious agony until they *FIANLLY* meet. That's very interesting that she dreams about "shoadowy figures." She's (most likely, right?) dreaming of Frodo. I can't wait to know if he dreams about her! I really love the way that you are handling this story so far. It's not another of the usual Frodo/maiden type stories. It's better, well thought out, and has a believable character. Please update soon!
Author's reply
ENJOY THE AGONY!!! heehee As a matter of fact I have given this story lots of thought. I have no wish to deminish Frodo's sacrifice in anyway. It is a balancing act, maintain the magnitude of his sacrifice while still allowing for the possibility of love. I feel that it would take a ver speacial Hobbit Lass to achieve that balance so I have given lots of thought to who that lass is and what makes her special. Linwe is not me, she is nicer than I am. I have spent a lot of time getting to know her and I love her as much as I love Frodo. There are a lot of romance stories out there written for Frodo I am honored that you think so highly of mine, and that you were able to percieve the thought I have put into it. MysteriousWays
Miriel · 8 October 2003 · Chapter 5: Chapter Five
Everything is building toward her and Frodo...Brandy Hall, hm? Closer to Frodo. Oh, I can hardly wait until they first see each other, and they lock eyes, and just *know* who they have been waiting for. Another wonderful chapter. Please update soon!
