Hahaha! Orkish troubles, indeed!

Lindelea · 17 October 2018 · Chapter 32: Awakening of Hope

Oh, I love this! Sonnets are a challenge to write (at least, I find them so). I love the shadowed background, against which the light that springs up shines all the brighter. It is almost like seeing hope slowly infuse the darkness of despair, ending in an ultimately uplifting thought.

Starlight and Moonlight · 26 September 2018 · Chapter 19: The Last Mallorn

So much depth in this one! You are such a talented poet!

Starlight and Moonlight · 26 September 2018 · Chapter 31: Orc and Spring

Ah ha ha this one is so cute! My little sisters would love it.

Starlight and Moonlight · 25 September 2018 · Chapter 15: Túrin Turambar

Love the ending so much! I've actually thought about that a lot.

Starlight and Moonlight · 21 September 2018 · Chapter 5: Eagles of Manwë

You are such a talented poet!

Starlight and Moonlight · 21 September 2018 · Chapter 3: Shadows of Nan Elmoth

Wow! This one is my favorite so far!

Starlight and Moonlight · 21 September 2018 · Chapter 2: Of Names and Decisions

Beautiful!

Levade · 27 May 2017 · Chapter 29: Beorn's yule song

Love the idea that they sang this and were warm and happy and safe. Also, it's very catchy...

Levade · 27 May 2017 · Chapter 31: Orc and Spring

I love the image of some poor orc sneezing his way as he follows his fellows... Spring is amazing, but hard on noses!

Larner · 27 May 2017 · Chapter 31: Orc and Spring

Ah, my friend, you have me laughing out loud! Poor Orc! I can so appreciate it, considering my own seasonal allergies, but I still love the flowers that make me sneeze and wheeze! Delightful!

shirebound · 26 May 2017 · Chapter 31: Orc and Spring

*giggles*

Larner · 15 July 2016 · Chapter 30: Westu Théoden hál

Oh, but I do love this! So appropriate for Theoden and his passing.

Author's reply

Thank you very much!

Larner · 15 July 2016 · Chapter 29: Beorn's yule song

Ah, it is indeed appropriate for the Yuletide season, but I rejoice to read it any old time! Good to hear from you again!

Author's reply

Thank you! I wrote it around that time, but couldn't post it until the results of the Tolkien Mailing Competition were announced, and then I realized I forgot to hit "publish" after I uploaded it here...

shirebound · 15 July 2016 · Chapter 30: Westu Théoden hál

Beautifully written. I suspect this poetic form isn't easy!

Author's reply

Thank you!

shirebound · 15 July 2016 · Chapter 29: Beorn's yule song

Delightful! It's wonderful to imagine a lifetime of Yule cheer for a character who's been through so much tragedy.

Author's reply

All of Tolkien's characters deserve a bit of a Yule cheer :)

Larner · 20 February 2015 · Chapter 28: Herblore

So nice to see Toby being lauded as he deserves. Delightful!

shirebound · 17 February 2015 · Chapter 28: Herblore

Some of them slipped on the coals smoldering As Tobold smelled the smoke, he smiled broadly Better than boiling them were the leaves burning A delightful poem, and it's nice to think that Rohan's bards are singing of Shire history.

Larner · 27 September 2012 · Chapter 27: J. R. R. Tolkien

How utterly fitting! Yes, worthy of the Master himself! Was listening to the Dwarves singing "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" and shivering at how Shore managed to adapt Tolkien's own poetry and sound so utterly Dwarvish! Am shivering in anticipation!

shirebound · 27 September 2012 · Chapter 27: J. R. R. Tolkien

How wonderful. I especially love the final lines.

Larner · 25 September 2012 · Chapter 26: Hobbit limerick

Three? I'd heard but two, with the first being released December 14th and the second next year in December! But after today watching the video blogs regarding the making of the films I must say I am eager to see them! And it's lovely to see Orlando Bloom back in Legolas's makeup and costumes, as well as both Ian Holme and Elijah Woods having at least cameo appearances. And the gown they had Cate Blanchett in as Galadriel was wonderful! And Howard Shore is doing the music again! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! (I fall at Shore's feet and cover them with kisses of adoration!)

Author's reply

Yes, it's offficially three now! The third should be in July 2013.

Larner · 27 August 2012 · Chapter 25: Son of Fire

Alas for Maedhros, as in the end he gives himself to the flames to end it all!

Author's reply

Just like his father, he ends in flames...

Larner · 27 August 2012 · Chapter 24: Gilraen's Lullaby

Beautiful images here, and so proper for our young Hope.

Author's reply

Thank you!

shirebound · 14 June 2012 · Chapter 24: Gilraen's Lullaby

Such a bittersweet lullaby. This is absolutely beautiful. There, names are not secret that can bring a danger And father to child doesn't have to be stranger *sigh*

Larner · 5 June 2012 · Chapter 23: The Broken Sword

Oh, but considering the focus of my latest story I DO love this and find it very timely!
