This is looking good, I'll read it all when I have the chance! Grr...evil school...nasty teachers...Gol--Okay, I got a little carried away. Great job on the first chapter, I'll finish the whole thing as soon as I get a spare moment.

Thank you for the review. I hope you'll like the other chapters :)

Awesome as always!! And this chapter was longer then the last one. What a treat!! Sorry I didn't post a review for the last chapter, but I promise not to miss another one if you promise to keep writing excellent chapters like this one.
Poor Legolas and Aragorn. I hope they are found soon before something really bad happens and you leave me with another cliffy.LOL (evil cliffies)
How many more chapters do you think this story will be??? (she asks with pleading eyes for more)
Please update soon!!!
Author's reply
Yep, slightly longer to make up for the shorter ones earlier. :D
I'm sure someone will find Aragorn and Legolas or they won't be able to go anywhere so don't worry :)
There will be approximately 35 chapters plus/minus a couple :) I won't tell you the exact number so you won't know when it's going to end. LOL! It's all written out already so no worries there. :)

Another awesome chapter!! But of course I'm going to tell you it's too short!! Boy I sure am demanding aren't I??? Sorry but I can't get enough!
I am very happy that you are quick to update, it is so considerate for your readers. Keep up the good work and update soon.
Author's reply
I know it's short. I've been hearing that ever since I started posting. LOL! So no, you're not demanding... just among the unfortunate ones that I'm torturing :)

Elrond knows something's wrong. That's good. The twins will search for the ranger and wood-elf. That's better. Aragorn is dying. Wait! That's wrong. And you were on such a roll towards a good turn of events, Estelle. ;-)
Get those twins on their horses soon!
LKK
Author's reply
Yes, Elrond felt their distress. That's very good. :D As for Aragorn dying... well, not that good but do you think I'll kill him? ;) That's for me to know and for you to find out. Keep reading! :D

Sorry I can't leave a long review, but I'm running short on time. That's the reason I haven't reviewed the last few chapters either. But rest assured that I AM reading and enjoying it very much.
I just thought my own reaction to the end of this post was funny. I was reading along, not really sure what to expect when I come to the last line. "He's dying..." Now, a normal person would gasp or cry or jump up and race to his rescue. But me, on the other hand, I said in a very sarcastic tone, "well, that sucks doesn't it!" lol! I must be in a weird mood tonight! Loved the chapter though! And I really am excited to see what's going to happen next!! Keep up the good work!
Author's reply
Doesn't matter long or short, I love them anyway :D As for your reaction, I think you're too sure that I won't let them die. Hehehe. We shall see... ;)

· Chapter 11: Guilty until Proven Innocent
Hmm... small cliffie... :)
You have an interesting definition of the word "small", Estelle.
I wasn't expecting the Chief to be murdered. My guess would have been that the healer would be murdered. (I was pretty sure that *someone* was going to be murdered. Murder seemed to be the most likely crime for them to be accused of.) Since we haven't seen Herbanna yet, my guess about her must have been wrong.
Still wearing my guessing hat... I noticed in the earlier chapter that you didn't mention what that age-old incident was. Could the It from the box be what caused the village to shut itself away centuries ago?
Aragorn viciously stabbed in the side; Legolas' lungs hurt and bleeding again; both accused and quickly convicted of murder; execution by the victim's family's ....
Yes, you most definitely have an interesting definition of the word, "small".
LKK
*all caught up & ready for more*
Author's reply
Actually, I didn't have any idea for that age-old incident. Just wrote it for the effect. Hmmm... maybe can use it for a possible sequel. Heh. The next chapter will be focused on Elrond and the twins. :) Should be posted shortly if my server behaves. :P

· Chapter 10: Confusion All Around
Well, of course the box was empty! Whatever was in there escaped when Aragorn broke the seal. It's clearly invisible to the naked eye, but not invisible to elvish senses. ("Clearly invisible"? That's probably an oxymoron, isn't it? LOL) Now we know that It can possess a body (Aragorn's) and render that body invisible so that the body slips by an elf unseen, but not completely unnoticed. Although how the fact that the elf can sense It is going to help Our Heroes is beyond me. (Hopefully not beyond you, though!)
Oh, dear. :-(
I worry about what Aragorn did while under It's spell ...
LKK
Author's reply
Wow!! Now I'm really gonna employ you! You sure you're not FBI, CIA or some secret agent in disguise?? :D But how sure are you that Aragorn had become invisible? Maybe he just slipped out to answer nature's call. *g*

· Chapter 9: The Secrets Within
So the village has been shut off from the outside world for centuries? Do I even want to consider what effect centuries of inbreeding would have on the people? *considers the posibilities for a moment* Uh ... maybe I don't want to consider the effects, after all.
Turning to other thoughts ... based on your story summary, something bad is going to happen that Our Heroes will be accused of. Doing a little a guess work, I suspect Herbenna might be either responsible for the something bad or at least for the accusations against Our Heroes. Of course, the Chief might be responsible as well. But given Belphena's description of Herbenna's resentment to the pair, Herbenna is my number one suspect for the whatever it is that is to come.
Typical Legolas .... saying he's fine when he really isn't. It's amazing how often he and Aragorn do that, isn't it?
Ooo .... and very curious about the contents of the mithril box and why the contents hiss and make the air chill .....
LKK
PS: I bet you're laughing at my reviews, knowing what's coming in the chapters I haven't read yet, aren't you? ;-)
Author's reply
Oops, I meant to say shut off from outside world for generations, not centuries. LOL!! Will go make correction later.
As for your assumption, well... can I employ you as my crime scene investigator in my next fic? LOL! You're really quite good! :D
And no, I never laughed at anyone's reviews... unless it's damn funny like Lelgalad's on FFNet. LOL!! I enjoy reading your reviews :) Keep 'em coming!

Still some internal bleeding, eh? Not good. Not good at all. :-(
Why didn't Aragorn give Legolas a sleeping draught before attempting the surgery? No ingredients to make it?
You know, I'm taking a real disliking to that village policy of not letting anyone outside the wall. Any village that would sacrifice its children for the sake of a rule ... *shakes head* Not good. Not good at all.

Very sweet of Varil to give up "his" cloak in order to warm Legolas. :-)
I wonder why the village elder is so deadset against outsiders? It doesn't seem natural for a village to lock itself against the outside world for generations. I certainly hope that the phrase No one leaves or enters our village doesn't mean Aragorn and Legolas are trapped there!
I'm very curious to learn more.

Great chapter! I'm happy to see that they let them stay. But I'm sure that it's just setting everything up. :-)
Oh, where did you get the information for the fixing-the-broken-rib thing? Was it just something you came up with, or did you do research on it? I was just wondering, because it was interesting.
Even though it was a little short, I liked it! Keep up the good work, and post more soon!!
Author's reply
Heh, I put up this chapter on Saturday but silly me forgot to publish it. *kicks self*
As for fixing the broken rib, I did do a little research and having a little medical background did help me write certain things. But most of the help came from my beta who happen to be an ER nurse. LOL! *huggles Rhonda and squishes her to death* :D

*deep breath*
Do I feel relaxed any? Nope. I'll have to try again later.
A child, eh? Abolutely not what I was expecting to come out of that bush, I'll admit. I liked that the first paragraph was from his POV; it added to the suspense since I couldn't tell what sort of creature was hiding. Nice touch that Varil thought Aragorn was attacking Legolas. And Varil's reaction on seeing Legolas up close was priceless. "He has funny ears... What is he?" It's a good thing Legolas is ill; otherwise, he might have had some choice words to say. In elvish, of course, so as not to corrupt young ears. ;-)
A short chapter, but a nice one. :-)
LKK
Author's reply
You should relax while you still can! Things should calm down a little in the next couple of chapters but the ride will get a little bumpy after that and if I were you, I will not be holding my breath. LOL!
I'm happy to know that you liked the child's reaction on seeing Legolas. I have no doubt that Legolas would sit and tell him all about elves if he had the strength. Varil would regret asking that question and would remember this lesson for a very very long time. LOL!
The next chapter will be up in a few minutes and I promise it'll be a little longer and nooo evil cliffie. :D

Thank goodness they're out of that cavern! Maybe the fresh air & sunlight will help the elf's spirit as it did (a little) for the ranger's.
I suppose it's asking too much for the "something" that dashed out and rammed into Aragorn to be nothing more than a coney? ..... yeah, I thought so. :-(
Another great chapter, Estelle. I'm anxiously awaiting more.
Author's reply
Yes, sunlight and fresh air does wonders for the elf and man. Hehehe. It will definitely lift Aragorn's spirit a little.
As for the thing that rammed into Aragorn... it's not necessary a bad thing... but who knows... well... I know but you'll have to wait and find out in 2 days. Or more like 1.5 days :D I promise the next chapter will not have a cliffie so you can take a deep breath and RELAX! :)

"Like it?" What kinda question is that? After what's happened to the elf and his friend? How could anyone like it?
Now, if you mean do I like the chapter? Well, of course I do! But that's only because you write well, create interesting descriptions, deliver strong emotional impact, and have good characterizations.
But do I like what you're making the characters go through? Nope! Not a whit.

I'm enjoying this story a lot - poor Legolas! (Oh, I love saying that). I wonder how on earth the pair are going to get out of the cave with Legolas so badly injured. Concussion? A broken arm? Broken ribs? A punctured lung? Ai, this does not sound good at all!
But with the state the pair are in I wonder how anyone can suspect them of any crime later in your story. Update soon, please!

Author's reply
Yessss, poor Legolas (I love saying that too and love torturing him even more *eg*) They will make it out... one way or another :) I'm trying to see how much pain an elf can endure before he snaps *vbeg* Elves are resilient beings. You can mutilate them to the maximum and they'll still live. *g* Okay, okay, I'm not trying to kill Legolas or anything so you can put down that knife! *backs away slowly*

wow! good grammar, and an intriguing story line, despite the fact that the "legolas looses elven grace and is injured" angst has been done -
i just wanted to know if this is going to be primarily angst/misery?
Normally i have no problem with it, but lately i can't seem to find anything that's NOT misery and. . . it gets depressing.
however, I'm not criticizing. I like your work so far and think it shows promise. Good luck, and keep up the good work!
