Rhyselle · 2 March 2014 · Chapter 11: Here We Go Again...

How fun! Each article snippet made me smile, but that last bit about Thranduil and his scrapbook made me have to stifle a guffaw (so I wouldn't wake my sleeping husband). :-D Well done!

Author's reply

I'm thrilled you enjoyed this so much! I had a blast writing it, I must admit. Thank you for reading and reviewing! I appreciate it!

Larner · 9 May 2013 · Chapter 19: Noe 'ni Ast Vall

Oh, yes, pollen--the bane of the existence of those of us subject to pollen allergies! And it could well frustrate the Lady of the Golden Wood! Heh! Thanks for the giggle!

walker-skye · 26 April 2013 · Chapter 19: Noe 'ni Ast Vall

Thank you (sniff) for a very sympathetic, and funny story I managed a few chuckles thru my sneezes!

Author's reply

Hey, sneezing and chuckling at the same time is a cool trick. LOL! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Agape4Gondor · 23 April 2013 · Chapter 19: Noe 'ni Ast Vall

This was cute for such a vexing subject. Worse allergy season for me EVER!

Author's reply

Bummer on the worst allergy season ever for you! It only makes it slightly better that elves suffer as do we. LOL Thanks for reading and reviewing!

galathil · 20 April 2013 · Chapter 19: Noe 'ni Ast Vall

Hi Ellie. I love this chapter, poor Lady Galadriel you can feel her frustration,as for Ellie's "grievous upper respiratory allergic reactions". I sympathize greatly with you, hey fever is hell. Are well that's Spring for you. Can't wait for next chapter or your next story. LOL Galathil

Author's reply

I'm so glad you enjoyed this latest installment. I was suffering thorough the season here and began to wonder how it must be for the elves in Lorien at this time of year. I figured with open air architecture, the pollen had to be an enormous pain to them. Thanks for reading and reviewing! PS. My next multi-chapter story is well under way and I'll start posting it when I finish it.

shirebound · 20 April 2013 · Chapter 19: Noe 'ni Ast Vall

What a delightful ending! *snickers* I do love "a celebratory shower of fine golden dust as the trees rejoiced in their bliss." What a shame not EVERYone appreciates it.

Author's reply

I'm pleased you enjoyed the ending! It's true that not everyone does fully appreciate the dusty bliss. Alas... Thanks for reading and reviewing!

UTfrog · 20 April 2013 · Chapter 19: Noe 'ni Ast Vall

My itchy eyes, ears, nose, throat, headache and all the rest of me absolutely loves this story. I think I will mark it for an annual reading. Thank you so much.

Author's reply

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the story, but bummer that you could identify so readily with the consequences of the pollen. My car has had dusty yellow windows for weeks now...We're keeping the allergist employed though! Thanks for reading and reviewing and enjoying!

Alaura J. · 20 June 2012 · Chapter 14: Summer Project

This one made me smile. It's cute to think of Entwives building little houses for us teeny weeny guys. :D

Author's reply

I'm pleased it made you smile:-) I never would have imagined Ents or Entwives making me smile to write them but they did. They are so cute and sweet in a rather large and unhasty sort of way. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 6 June 2012 · Chapter 18: Sense and Consensus

Heh! Cute!

Author's reply

Thasnk! Glad you liked it :-) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 6 June 2012 · Chapter 17: Night Terrors

Sauron's title "the Deceiver" was well earned, obviously, and while wearing his Ring he was so able to sow such distrust! Well done, Ellie!

Author's reply

He certainly did deceive with that ring and with horrible consequences. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 6 June 2012 · Chapter 16: Harvesting Hope

Well, and why not this as well as any other scenario? Although I must admit I like MINE, of course! Heh!

Author's reply

Hey, there are many possibilities when one is writing a gap-filler. Tolkien should have been more explicit. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 6 June 2012 · Chapter 15: A Ring Given, A Debt Incurred

How true to the two of them and the times within which they lived. And these Men and these Elves managed to live with and for one another, achieving he cooperation that made the world in which they lived safer for those who lived alongside them.

Author's reply

A great deal was achieved by the friendship of Finrod and Barahir. Could either of them have imagined that the ring would have made it all the way to Aragorn? Thanks for reading and reviewing!

eiluj · 3 June 2012 · Chapter 18: Sense and Consensus

This conversation had to have taken place at some point. Yeah, the general attitude must have been, "They're descended from who-all?" and "So what are they?" and "Nobody's family tree could be that mixed up: you're just pulling my leg!" My Sindarin is -- to say the least -- poor, but I'm enjoying translating these elves' names as Wise Guy and Windbag. I'm also enjoying contemplating the supposed purpose for this list -- whether seriously or not. A census of all who fought in the War of Wrath? A census of all the elves of Beleriand who might end up wanting to sail to Aman? A census of all the elves of Beleriand who had a connection with Aman, to notify their relatives in Aman, should they die or refuse to sail? Or simply one of a list of several dozen crazy but totally pointless requests designed to punish Istadan and Sûlion? And then there's the question of whose nerves they got on (not necessarily the same person who gave them their assignment): Arafinwë? Gil-galad? Celeborn? Círdan? Eönwë?

Author's reply

Yeah, they do have an interesting background, don't they? I think that Windbag's name actually translates to "son of the wind", but I'm sure that Istadan thought that Windbag would suit him well... I'm not really certain who they angered. I think that once the two were born, someone realized that since they were destined to be the leaders of the remnants of Gondolin and the folk of Doriath, it was important to know their exact lineage. Obviously this story poses more questions than it answers! LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

6336 · 3 June 2012 · Chapter 18: Sense and Consensus

Well what else could you call them? Nolsintelmaed's? Just so long as you don't call them late for supper! Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

I like your name for them. That would be very amusing, but somehow Elrond Nolsintelmaed just doesn't have the same ring to it...LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Fiondil · 2 December 2011 · Chapter 17: Night Terrors

As powerful the second time reading this as the first time, Ellie. The imagery is so immediate. I like the way you "explain" the destruction of the Silvan armies. It makes the deaths of Amdir and Oropher less a consequence of stupidity on their part and more as a result of the Enemy's manipulations, redeeming them in our eyes, as it were. The way the Elves were so easily convinced of the rightness of their hatred and disregard for the Noldor is absolutely frightening, because we can see that same kind of manipulation going on in our own world today without us really realizing what is happening or why. This is truly a cautionary tale for our own times, I think. And I don't think I'll look at a thunderstorm quite the same way, again. Excellent story!

Author's reply

Just realised I never responded to this. I could fully believe that minds were manipulated in this way during wars with the likes of Sauron. Thanks so very much for reading (and rereading) and reviewing!

eiluj · 30 November 2011 · Chapter 17: Night Terrors

Wow. This ties many threads together and makes a believable explanation of the events of that war and after.

Author's reply

Just realised I never responded to this. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

6336 · 4 November 2011 · Chapter 16: Harvesting Hope

Well that is an interesting viewpoint, never thought that, maybe, Hobbits were created by other than the he One! There is quite a mystery concerning their origins after all. Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

I figured speculation on their origins made for an interesting story... Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Ellynn · 30 September 2011 · Chapter 15: A Ring Given, A Debt Incurred

Beautiful, poignant, touching story of friendship. Wonderfully done, Ellie.

Author's reply

I'm glad you found it to be a beautiful and touching tale. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

6336 · 29 September 2011 · Chapter 15: A Ring Given, A Debt Incurred

I doubt he knew, when he made that pledge, what it would cost him. Lynda

Author's reply

I don't think he knew either. However, I think he still would have done it anyway. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 10 September 2011 · Chapter 14: Summer Project

What a wonderful pastime! I love it! Yes, Ents would enjoy such activities, I'd think. And I imagine wee folk finding and possibly enjoying them and the amenities! Lovely!

Author's reply

I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 10 September 2011 · Chapter 13: First Festival: A Celebration of Life Part 2 - A First Festival in Middle-earth

Ooh--quite the twist on the previous one! Melkor's ghastly twisting of Eru's work and children, looking to devour one's forebears, as it were. Chilling!

Author's reply

Yes, it was pretty ghastly. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 10 September 2011 · Chapter 12: First Festival: A Celebration of Life Part 1- A First Festival in Aman

Alas--famous last words and all that. How joyful the day and how mistaken the image for the future. Even in Aman there is no promise of eternal bliss.

Author's reply

That was a hard lesson for the Elves to learn, I'm sure. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

shirebound · 7 September 2011 · Chapter 14: Summer Project

What a lovely story. It warms my heart to imagine Ents playing and having such a joyful time. I know that the wee folk appreciate their labors.

Author's reply

It is fun imagining Ents doing something like this. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

6336 · 7 September 2011 · Chapter 14: Summer Project

I did wonder if the 'wee folk' mentioned were Hobbits, but I can handle fairies! Lynda

Author's reply

The wee folk could have been Humans or even Elves for that matter. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Angwen · 5 August 2011 · Chapter 13: First Festival: A Celebration of Life Part 2 - A First Festival in Middle-earth

Ooo! Nice one, there, Shyamalan! What a twist! ^_^

Author's reply

thank you very much! I had so much fun writing this - probably more fun than I should have. LOL
