I love this conversation between Arwen and Eowyn. It could not have been easy for either of them.

Linda Hoyland · 18 May 2010 · Chapter 29: Discovery

Hilarious!

Author's reply

Thank you! =)

Linda Hoyland · 18 May 2010 · Chapter 28: Grey and Black

I liked your account of this grim meeting.

Author's reply

Thank you! When I saw the challenge about characters with opposing traits, Aragorn and the Mouth of Sauron came to my mind immediately

Linda Hoyland · 18 May 2010 · Chapter 26: Of Healing

I loved this glimpse of my favourite moment in the book

Author's reply

I didn't meanit as the healing of Faramir when I wrote this drabble, it should take place after one of the many battles of the Dúnedain in protection of the Shire. But you are free to interpret it as you wish, of course =)

Linda Hoyland · 18 May 2010 · Chapter 25: Of Beards

Just delightful!

Author's reply

Thank you! I saw a very some very long discussions about Círdan's beard in some forums, and wanted to contribute with my own bit ;)))

Cairistiona · 17 May 2010 · Chapter 28: Grey and Black

Ooh, that one gave me shivers! Not that I have a lick of sympathy for the Mouth of Sauron but I would hate to ever be pinned by Aragorn's keen eyes like that.

Author's reply

Being under that gaze must be really scary, if it made even the Mouth of Sauron afraid without a word... Better to be on Aragorn's side! =)

grumpy · 16 May 2010 · Chapter 29: Discovery

Amazing what childred will find find to play with, and have fun with it to!

Author's reply

The most unexpected things, I can say :D

6336 · 16 May 2010 · Chapter 29: Discovery

Elrond wears a wig! Gasp! Just for bad hair days, right? Lynda

Author's reply

I don't know about the book-Elrond, but I'm quite sure movie-Elrond does ;) And maybe he was trying to hide the receding hairline once ;)

6336 · 16 May 2010 · Chapter 25: Of Beards

Oh, L.O.L., that was good, I think Olwe, King of the Lindar(Teleri) has a beard, but he is in Aman so probably dosen't count! Lynda

Author's reply

Yes, I guess there are more bearded elves in Valinor. The conversation was meant to be about Middle-earth =)

RS · 7 May 2010 · Chapter 19: Reading from Palm

I feel like tapping the fortune teller on the back and saying "I know what you know!". Nice!

Author's reply

Yes, but she would reply that it's no big feat to know *after* it happened ;) Thank you for the review!

Linda Hoyland · 7 May 2010 · Chapter 19: Reading from Palm

This fortune teller knew far more than Aragorn could ever have guessed. An enjoyable drabble.

Author's reply

Oh yes, she knows much! ;) Thank you for the review!

Linda Hoyland · 7 May 2010 · Chapter 18: Ash and Smoke

A lovely glimpse of my favourite moment from the book.

Author's reply

Thank you! I feard I won't be able to do it justice with only 100 words, so I'm glad if I succeeded, if only partially, maybe.

Linda Hoyland · 7 May 2010 · Chapter 15: NOT a pet

Poor Huan!Being so special must have had drawbacks at times!

Author's reply

Heh, poor doggie indeed! ;)

Cairistiona · 6 May 2010 · Chapter 20: Wild, free, but not children

Ooh, a Ghân-buri-Ghân ficlet! I am so intrigued by those people and their drums and their mysterious nature, so I am thrilled to see this. In so few words you've still shown how they think and view what's happening in the greater world beyond their wooded hills. Absolutely perfect!

Author's reply

Yes, they are very intriguing, even more because they live so secretly that even Tolkien doesn't say much about them. They almost don't appear in books of lore, but they have their own world and history - almost like hobits =)

grumpy · 4 May 2010 · Chapter 14: Advertisement

I would like a pair of these boots, if the guy every gets them to market, need a pair of boots that can go for miles and miles, without getting corns on the feet.

Author's reply

Well, in that case I would recommend some other shoe-maker, a Dúnedain one, or even elven, who knows how such shoes are made properly. I fear this guy's boots will fall appart after the first rain... but you would look very tough wearing them in a city ;)

Cairistiona · 20 April 2010 · Chapter 6: The Broken Sword

So stirring! I love that last stanza especially--no big surprise there!

Author's reply

Thank you very much! No, not a big surprise indeed ;)

Ellynn · 16 April 2010 · Chapter 5: Halbarad's Farewell

You evil girl... this was so sad! Are you trying to make us all cry? Actually, everything was "fine" until the last two stanzas. They are so sad, so strong, so heartbreaking, so... perfect. Beautifully done, my friend. :)

Author's reply

I'm sorry! It wasn't me who killed Halbarad, it was Tolkien, really! But it *is* sad, one of the saddest moments in the book... Thank you very much for the review!

RS · 15 April 2010 · Chapter 5: Halbarad's Farewell

Ok..Now you just made me cry! How I hate the fact that Halbarad never got to see Aragorn become king! This is beautiful!

Author's reply

Thank you very much, and I'm sorry for making you cry! But the truth is it is sad... Halbarad's death was a great sacrifice for the victory against Sauron...

Cairistiona · 15 April 2010 · Chapter 5: Halbarad's Farewell

Oh, that was beautiful... in that reach-for-the-tissue kind of way. *sighs*

Author's reply

Thank you very much! I'm really glad you liked the poem about Halbarad, since you write him so great!

Cairistiona · 10 April 2010 · Chapter 3: I Am Darkness

Your visual stories are always amazing and this is delightfully creepy. What a task you set for yourself, to crawl (no pun intended) into the mind of Ungoliant, but it was worth the effort to have produced this story. It was wrenching to see the death of the Trees from Ungoliant's point of view, and the spider visual at the end had me reaching for my flyswatter!

Author's reply

Thank you very much! Yes, it was very creepy and wrenching to write... And that will have to be one HUGE flyswatter! =)

RS · 7 April 2010 · Chapter 2: The Price of Love

I am bawling!!! I am in awe. This has got to be the most profound "return to Cerin Amroth" piece I have ever read! "Where are you, my love? .....the wind dries my tears as your hand would do once, strong but gentle, with a healing touch. I look at the sky, and I see your eyes in its deep greyness. I listen to the wind, and it brings to me the memory of your voice, whispering my name like a prayer and assurance in the same time."........You're breaking my heart! "I slip my hand into yours. We are young again, and we walk among the birches of Rivendell. It is spring..." This so brings out my fear of the inevitable and yet it gives me hope and strength at the same time. I can't think of anything to say but.....BEAUTIFUL!

Author's reply

Oh, thank you for the review! If it helps somehow, I was crying too when writing this... I'm so glad if I managed to do what you say in the last line. There can be no greater success to me with this story. Thank you very much!

Ellynn · 7 April 2010 · Chapter 2: The Price of Love

Oh. *speechless* At least, in the first moments. I'll pick out two sentences. One is: "There is no ship for me, for my Blessed Realm is wherever you are..." There are many stories from Arwen's POV, describing her love for Aragorn, but this sentence is one of the best I've ever seen, in a way that it perfectly summarizes her feelings: there is so much said, with just several ordinary words. And the second sentence is: "Without you, there is a piece of me missing..." Again, it seems simple, but the way you write it, it is so touching and strong. Great work.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear that those sentences have such effect!

Larner · 7 April 2010 · Chapter 2: The Price of Love

Again, a well-conceived examination of her thoughts as she looks backwards. Excellent bookend moments for a love well enjoyed, and a future she is only now able to contemplate.

Author's reply

Thank you again! I'm glad you liked the sadder second part too!

Larner · 7 April 2010 · Chapter 1: The Tree of Love

Well conceived examination of Arwen's feelings.

Author's reply

Thank you!

Larner · 7 April 2010 · Chapter 0: Introduction

Thanks for the background to your character.

Author's reply

Just a brief introduction =) I enjoyed the game very much!
