Thranduil's powers are breathtaking.
Author's reply
Thank you so much for your review. I always was fascinated from the special power of the wood Elves. Thranduil is a special elf anyway and he has no ring of power. Glad you enjoy. Lai

Hi, just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed your story, it was great, I loved how Elrond and Glorfindel interacted with Thandruil, how Thandruil was able to forget the past, and how Thandruil was able to help get Elrond back home in time and that both twins survived.

Hello, I´m so happy you liked the story and let me know. It means so much to me. I´m glad the interctions worked to the readers satisfaction. Thank you so much for following the story and reviewing. Lai

Beautiful and happy ending. The arrival of Elrond on the back of a great eagle must have been quite a sight. Now I'm waiting for the sequel "g". Anyway, great story. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Hi minuial, I´m so glad you liked the ending. It was not planned but fun to write some more. I have to thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Hope to see you at my next story. Lai

Glad to see all is well in Imladris and that Glorfindel made it back safe and sound. I enjoyed this story very much and look forward to reading more. Apparently there is yet another threat to the Elves, from what you hinted at in the previous chapter? Perhaps someday we'll learn what that is all about. *looks hopeful*
Author's reply
Hi Fiondil, thank you so much for your kind words. They mean so much to me. You are not the first one who wants to hear about the new threat and now I fear i must really consider this. What have I done? *g*. However, I´ve already started a new story but the idea of a sequel to this one is more and more nagging me. Thank you so much for all the comments and thoughts you shared during this story. I appreciate every one of them. Hope to see you at my new story. Lai

Well written and beautiful story. I would like to read a sequel about the new threat Elrond mentioned in the epilogue and, of course, about his arrival in Imladris. Good work. Keep it up. Thank you.
Author's reply
Hello minuial, thank you so much for your kind words and your encouraging throughout the story. I really appreciate it and I´m so glad you like the story. A sequel..mmhm...the idea is more and more appealing. We will see. The second epilogue is already done and with my beta. Hope you like the ending too. Perhaps I will see you at my next story? · Chapter 18: never lose hope
I have been reading this story all along. I have been trying to cut down on my computer time lately,(a lost cause, I am afraid,) so I do not do as many reviews lately. But I wanted you to know that I am very much enjoying this story. Knowing that the brothers El are tiny right now, and do live to grow up, is the only way one would know how this will turn out. You have kept the suspense going very well. This chapter has tied up some loose ends nicely. Elrond is on friendly, even affectionate terms with Thranduil's sons. Thranduil and his wife are gratefully in his debt. And he is also in Thranduil's debt for the way home. When Thranduil first suggested that he might be able to arrange a faster way, I first thought maybe by river. Then I remembered that all of the rivers in that part of the land seemed to run into the Anduin, and so SOUTH, not North and west, as needed. I like Glorfindel's comment that Thranduil was always good for a surprise! But really,it is not that much of a surprise. To me, Thranduil is known for living in harmony with his woods and all of the creatures in them. It does not surprise me that he would have a friendly relationship with the Great Eagles. That sort of adds another dimension to the appearance of the Eagles at the battle of Five Armies, many years later.
Author's reply
Hi, thank you so much for letting me know that you enjoyed my story. It means a lot to me. I always want to tell so much but I´m still struggling with the language. Without my wonderful beta readers this would not be possible. I´m glad the suspense worked and you are satisfied with the end. The rivers were my first thought too but as you pointed out they all flow in the wrong direction. Then I remembered that Thranduil and his wood elves must have a closer connection with the nature around them and the Eagles seemed the logical consequence. Because the twins have grown up, as we know, Elrond must have arrived in time, but that´s not part of this story, but maybe I can find some time to write a sequel?
Anyway, I´m happy that you found the time to read and review. I really appreciate it. Thank you. Lai

Hi. I suspected that the great eagles will be called to help and I'm glad that Thranduil had that power. Now I would like to see the faces of those in Imladris when Elrond will descend from the back of the eagle. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's reply
Hi minuial, yes you guessed right. I liked the idea that Thranduil has the power to call for the Eagles, but I fear we must imagine the faces of those in Imladris. This will be for another story. The Eagles! The Eagles! Well... at least one. *grin* A cool solution and one I never thought on. Good job! Let's hope Elrond makes it back in time. I feel sorry for poor Glorfi having to bring the horses back. Let's hope he makes it back in one piece as well.

· Chapter 14: forgive me
I finally found a free afternoon to actually sit down and read this story (reminded that I had wanted to do so when I saw your latest update). I think this is a real page-turner myself. I found myself caught up with the story right from the start. Galadhion is my favorite character here (next to Glorfindel who is *always* my favorite character *grin*) and I have liked the interplay between Elrond and Thranduil, the former with feelings of guilt and the latter consumed with anger, both of them trapped in memories of the past, although Elrond is more capable of seeing beyond this. It looks as if Thranduil is getting there himself, slowly but surely. Glorfindel has been way cool throughout, just the way I imagine him to be. I really liked how he told Thranduil off in this chapter. An angry Glorfindel is a glorious sight to behold. *LOL*
I suspected that Galadhion's condition was as much spiritual as it was physical. Of course we already know the outcome *grin* but it will be interesting to see how it comes about.
And I saw that anonymous review (don't you just hate them!?) about this story sounding like an afternoon soap opera. Apparently the reviewer has never seen one because most of them are well written with interesting character and plot development, so really, the person was paying you a compliment, even if he or she didn't intend one. *grin*
Looking forward to seeing how this ends.
Author's reply
Hi Fiondil, I´m so glad you have finally found the time to read my story and I´m even more happy that you like it. I really appreciate your review, because I´m following your stories also but I´ve never had the courage to review because that´s not my playground and I´m much too unexperienced with the topic Valar or SIL. I like Galadhion also very much and the more so because I´ve made him up and he has developed over the chapters with me. The old conflict between Thranduil and Elrond was always fascinating to me, even when Tolkien did not really elaborate about this, but I could imagine some animosity between them Noldor/Sindar; Gil-Galad/Oropher). And Glorfindel is always out of question: He´s simply the most interesting elf in all of Middle Earth. And you are right about Galadhion´s condition;it´s a spiritual problem which will be clear in the next chapter. I´m so glad about your comment about the annonymous review. I´ve never considered it this way. Anyway, thank you so much for your time to review and I hope you will follow me to the end. Lai

· Chapter 13: joy and sorrow
Hi again, I know I havn't reviewed recently, but I am still with you. Good chapter, I was so relieved that the antidote was found and it seems to be working. I could feel for all those parents lined up waiting for the medicine. It is very frustrating to know there is a cure, but be unable to provide it to your child. That could have turned very ugly, but I am glad the elves only resorted to glares and grumbles.
Thranduil was superb when he took time to talk with the waiting parents, even if he just gave them a touch or look, it shows he does really care for his people. With his own son in critical condition, he could have just rushed after the healers.
At least Elrond had enough sensativity to wait until he was asked for his help with the Crown Prince. But once again, it was Elrond to the rescue. "sigh" I will say no more on my feelings here. :)
I did like in an earlier chapter how you addressed the Thornil's feelings. Elrond's thoughts 'He could imagine how he would have felt if the situation had been reversed and another elf had done the work that he had usually been responsible for doing.' I wonder if Elrond would just step aside and allow another to take over his healing rooms. "Elrond swallowed before he uttered the apology which was long overdue. “I wanted to thank for your tolerance allowing my presence in your domain.” This was gallant of Elrond to admit that he did step into Thornil's domain, even if he was asked to.
I hope that Thornil has some triumph in this story. So far, he has been unable to help either prince.
Looking forward to another chapter.
Author's reply
Hi Robinscat, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me; I´m so glad that you are still following the story, despite your aversion about the Noldor elves and I´m glad that you like my wood elves and their King at least one bit. I imagine Thranduil as very caring for his people even if others see only the greedy and self-centered monarch. I can simply not agree with that picture and I could well imagine that he would first bring comfort to grieving parents and then rush after his son. I also think that Elrond would not have stepped aside in his healing rooms but if you like it or not he is superior concerning his skills and I see the palace healer not negativ but he´s a simple healer and compared to Elrond he must not be ashamed to ask for help but it was important for me to let Elrond act respectively and it must be by all means even for him benecessary to ask. And Elrond will soon learn that his skills cannot remedy everything. Hope you will follow me to the very end. The next chapter is already with my beta. Again thank you so much for your review. Lai

Really, now I have to say; Poor Thranduil! You should think on giving him a chance to prove that he is a great elf like the others...
In my private universe, Thranduil is very, very clever, even cunning. He is
a formidable elf by all means. He would never behave like your Thranduil.
So, you can see how much I like your story and read with pleasure. It's your imagination and fine writing which did this!

Hi Irene, I cannot express how happy I´m about your kind words. I´m so glad you like the story so much but maybe when you bear with me till the end you will see that my Thranduil is not as weak and powerless as you think. I see him also as a powerful elf, the most interesting elf, in fact, above all others. That you find my writing `fine`leaves me speachless, because it´s not my first language and my beta readers have a lot of work to do to make this readable. I just wanted to say that I have been following along, good story so far. You drew me in with a glimse of a little Legolas. I love little Legolas' stories. But you went back in time and I realized your story would not center around him. Oh! well, I still am reading the next chapters, so you have hooked me.
I was very glad that the eldest son, went behind Thranduil's back and asked for help. Too bad the only help to be had was from Imladris. At least he did not go to the Gladrium. (I don't like the Lorien elves, never have, they are too arogant.) I only hope this story does not end with Elrond saving the day and the Greenwood elves portrayed as bumbling country bumpkins. (Sorry, I am a Greenwood elf at heart and have always felt that the snooty Imladris elves and the arogant Lorien elves has looked down on us.) "Grins" please don't be offended if you story does end with Elrond saving everyones life.
I am glad that Thranduil has had a change of mind about letting Elrond help, but at the cost of an elfling. I am sure that will eat at him.
Please don't let one anonmous (I think that is how it is spelled) ruin your writing. You have plenty of good reveiw with encouragement to draw upon. You have courage to post your story for all to read.
Looking forward to your next chapter.
Thank you for your gift.

Hello, thank you so very much for your encouraging words. They really, really mean a lot to me. I´ve already considered to end the story right here, because of the one "lovely" review and the lack of others, but such reviews as yours always keep me going. I´m centered on the elves of Imladris - sorry - but I also love the wood elves as much and they will surely not look bad in the end. Elrond will help them - he´s after all the best healer, but I will surely not forgett Thranduil and Co. Again many thanks for your kind words and I hope you will further "suffer" my Noldor elves and I hope to see you at the end. Lai
