I strongly suspect that his foresight is niggling at him right now, even though she professes no more interest in Estel than she has felt for any of his forebears. Certainly he has reason to both desire and fear the day Aragorn comes into his own, as we know in Glorfindel's hindsight.
Author's reply
Very true, Larner. And no doubt he is wishing that he had kept Arwen in Lothlórien where Aragorn would never have met her instead of having her return to Imladris when she did. Such is the way of things, unfortunately. Thaks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Ah, how sweet! Lord Namo has to be my favorite Vala! Beneath all that forbidding exterior is a loving heart that cannot resist his beloved.
I love the way you portray him here.
Author's reply
Hi Celeth. He's a lot of people's favorite Vala, at least the way I write him. And really, what's not to like? *grin* Thanks for letting me know how much you enjoyed the story. I appreciate it.

This is cute. I can imagine the glee Glorfindel felt at this charade and also the embarrassment of some household members on calling Elrond 'Ada'.
Author's reply
Yikes! I happened to be re-reading some earlier stories for fun and saw that I never responded to your review, obsidianj. My bad. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it very much and sorry for the delay in responding.

· Chapter 24: Labyrinth Time
This was a really awesome chapter to read. I like the idea of those two meeting (I wonder if they met again in the afterlife and remembered this?) I wonder why neither Luthien nor Arwen ever made use of the labyrinth? I'd like to see those two meet somehow, in a dream or vision. Maybe something like that could happen in 'Tales from Vaire's Loom? (not that I'm hinting or anything) :)
Author's reply
Hello Emma. I so glad you enjoyed this tale. I'm sure they did meet again in the Afterlife and remembered this first meeting between them. I cannot say why neither Lúthien nor Arwen ever walked the labyrinth. Just one of those things. Anyway, your idea of them meeting in a dream or vision is intriguing. You never know. The Muse may actually show me if such actually happened. *grin* Thanks for leaving a review. I really appreciate it.

· Chapter 44: A Winter’s Tale
Hi Atto,
I'm really not feeling very well right now, but I wanted to leave a review to this as I've been absolutely horrid with reviews for a while. I'm sorry about that. :( Anyway I liked Aragorn very much here, and how he dealt with Celebrindor. I'd wondered if Celebrimbor had any sons...Celebrindor...have I heard that name before somewhere in your works? It sounded familiar.
(I really wish Aragorn could be here to heal me at the moment, I feel like death warmed over. *grimaces* And we're supposed to go to my sister's tomorrow for Thanksgiving? Erm, I don't know I can make it...)
Well, I just wanted to thank you again for posting EA2 and for this story, and hope that an EA3 will be on the way.
Much love to you, and Eru's blessings. Have a wonderful Eruhantale.
Tye-melin,
Kaylee
Author's reply
Hi Kaylee. I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well and hope you feel better real soon. Thank you for letting me know how much you enjoyed this tale. Celebrindor is not a character in any of my other stories; I borrowed the name from Appendix A as I wanted a name that was similar to Celebrimbor's.
Anyway, Eru's blessings to you, too, and have a happy Eurhantalë if you can. Tye-melin.

I am so impressed with this beautiful, but sad tale. It was truly a blessing that Aragorn was able to release the poor elf's fea and send him to Mandos for healing.

Thank you, Tari. I appreciate you letting me know how much you enjoyed this tale.

· Chapter 44: A Winter’s Tale
A very enjoyable ghost story - and one with what one can call a happy ending. Aragorn did after all manage to free poor Celebrindor of the curse Sauron had put on him.
It makes me wonder if any of the other ring-makers suffered a similar kind of fate
Author's reply
Hi Sunny. Now that you've mentioned it, it does make you wonder what Sauron might have done with the other ring-makers, especially after he killed Celebrimbor. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed this story and I appreciate you letting me know. Thanks.

I rejoice that Aragorn was able to bring to naught the curse Sauron laid on the poor Elf so long ago. The Heir of Isildur helping to turn away some of Sauron's evil even before the final battles against Mordor's forces! Well done, Fiondil.
Author's reply
Perhaps this was a dress-rehearsal for that battle. *grin* Thanks for letting me know how much you enjoyed this tale, Larner. I appreciate it.

What a delightfully shivery, yet touching, tale. I like to think that it was indeed Celebrindor giving Aragorn a soft farewell touch on his way to finally answering Mandos' call. And it seems that Aragorn was able to have a "practice run" at releasing lost spirits from their curse! Well deserving of its 1st place finish at Teitho.
Author's reply
I like to think so as well, Cairistiona, simply because I'm a sucker for happy endings. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I appreciate it very much.

what a sad and creepy tale, Fiondil. Poor Celebrindor knowing now what happened to his father. I´m so glad Aragorn found a way to help him. I only hope Lord Namo will renew his call and will finally take this long lost child home. Liked this tale very much and first place on Teitho was really deserved. Thank you for a wonderful evening read. Lai
Author's reply
Hi Lai. It is sad and creepy but also hopeful. I have no doubt that Námo renewed his call and Celebrindor went willingly to him. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks. for letting me know. I appreciate it very much.

· Chapter 44: A Winter’s Tale
Congratulations on your placing first in Teitho, I enjoyed this when I read it on the site and have enjoyed rereading it here.
I could see something like this happening, Sauron being who and what he was, he was probably too eager to get his hands on the ring to guard his thoughts and that is how Clelbrindel was able to pick up on them. I hope Namo was not too hard on Celebrindel when he finally reached Mandos, it wasn't his fault he couldn't get out of his hroa! I trust he is sleeping peacefully now or is he already reembodied and working for a certain jewel smith in Vanyamar?
Good one Fiondil,
Huggs,
Lynda
Author's reply
Hi Lynda. I'm sure Námo was very understanding and sympathetic and treated him very gently. And I wouldn't be surprised if he did end up working for a certain jewel smith in Vanyamar. *grin* I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

That was quite a surprise. Poor Celebrindor had to haunt such a small place for so long... I'm glad that Aragorn found a way to free him.
"“Ah… I didn’t know that,” the Elf said, sounding pleased for some reason. " After hearing about his father's death, how could he sound pleased? Or was he just happy to know at last what happened?
Author's reply
Hi someone. I think he was simply relieved to finally know what his father's fate was. I'm sure it must have been gnawing at him all that time. Anyway, thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it very much.

What a fascinating tale! Aragorn is so wise, and discovers a way to heal a troubled spirit that few might have thought of. I wonder if he remembered this experience, and was able to feel confident that he could release the Dead from their cursed existence later in his life? Very well done.

Hi Shirebound. I'm sure he did remember this in later life. I'm glad you enjoyed this tale. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

· Chapter 43: From Argwon to Ethel
This sounds like the kind of story that the elves will be teasing Aragorn with years later! The small child who didn't give up in the face of a targeted campaign from a household of elves and managed to last for two months... That tells much about just how stubborn Aragorn was, and that same inability to give in made later it possible for him to get his throne. Great story, Fiondil.
Author's reply
They would tease him, too, though they would've had to wait until after Elrond revealed the truth to him. I'm glad you enjoyed this tale, someone. I appreciate you letting me know. Thanks.

How delightful. It was such a drastic change for little Estel, but he came through with flying colors. As he grew older, he would once again find out about his real father and who he was. Elrond is an excellent choice as "step- father"'
Author's reply
Hi Tari. Yes, Estel made the transition well enough and Elrond is a great "step-father". Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.

I read this over on Teitho and thought it was yours.
I am not sure how I would have handled this, but it seems that total immersion would work. It would probably have been eaisier had Aragorn been either a little younger or old enough to understand that he had to be hidden. Glorfindel, of course would have delighted in calling Elrond 'Ada'!
Huggs,
Lynda
Author's reply
I think total immersion was the only real solution. Aragorn was just old enough to know something was not as it should be but too young to be able to sit him down and reason with him. And Glorfindel probably got a real kick out of the whole thing. *grin* Thanks for reviewing, Lynda. I really appreciate it.

I'm sure there were weeks, perhaps even months, before Glorfindel left off the custom. Cheeky little Elf!
Nicely done, though terribly sad for the Dowager Queen.
I like each of the characters as you've drawn them. Especially Elrond. I'm glad he spent time near Estel's side. How could the little one call him Ada if he didn't act like one?

I imagine Glorfindel was the last to give up calling Elrond "Ada". Cheeky little Elf, indeed. LOL! I'm glad you liked the story and the way I drew each of the characters, especially Elrond. Thanks for letting me know, Agape. I really appreciate it.

What a clever idea! This not only brings a new sense of self -- and family -- to Aragorn, but, I am certain, great delight and humor to Imladris for a very long time to come.

it was a clever idea, wasn't it? *grin* Thanks, Shirebound. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
This is a heartwarming tale. The last line from Glorfindel made me teary-eyed. It is such a fitting thing to do. I liked the symbolism of Thranduil climbing the stairs out of deep despair to light and hope.
