· Chapter 34: Remembering Boromir
You always write so beautifully. I can see every nook and cranny of Pippin's place of abode. And the loneliness. You had me near tears. Of course Minas Tirith would exude of the essence of Boromir. And the Horn!!! *heavy sigh* Even knowing he lives, it is hard to read of the grief of those who loved Boromir.
And glad I am so see Pippin visited upon by Durlin. Much better than a Jacob Marley! This servant of Boromir's is Eru-sent, is he not? Love his character. Youd did good!
"... things I don't want to forget." That is so important, isn't it? Remembering those we love or have shared hard times with and joy, too.
I love that you give each one of our beloved questors a kindred spirit, though my heart goes out to Hirgon, not knowing of his destiny.
And Boromir - though sleepless he is not alone. And that is a good thing!

And all prepare for the assault they know this darkness heralds. At least Frodo and Sam are well on their way, and Faramir is capable of following the greater good rather than strictly his father's dictates.

· Chapter 33: Calm Before the Storm
I couldn't travel fifteen miles in a day! Give yourself some slack, Boromir. Poor Arthad. Holding up well to Boromir's impatience.
Dearest Boromir. Glad I am that you undertook this tale and continued his life. It was too sad when Tolkien ended it so abruptly.
As for the storm, I'm glad Boromir recognized it for what it was. Even though it interrupted his wonderment at the 'new' Boromir.
Loved it all. Great chapter!

· Chapter 35: That Way Lies Hope
It's depressing to see Denethor losing hope. At least Durlin holds out for Boromir. And Boromir is right. What good is hoarded strength when you come to late.

Boromir's ordeal has taught him what it means to be humble while gaining humility. He will make an even greater leader.

· Chapter 35: That Way Lies Hope
At last the presence of the Ring is revealed to those who must know, and Boromir speaks rightly that the time for care is now past--best not to come too late. Excellent!

And while they would at least keep his memory alive, he thinks on them and worries in return. And Sauron's darkness troubles them all....

Oh, indeed there is reason to be concerned! And I am glad to see more gentleness reach the heart of Faramir's brother!

· Chapter 34: Remembering Boromir
It's kind of ironic that everyone in this chapter thinks Boromir is dead, but they don't want to forget him, so they talk about his life. I like it that at the end of the chapter the object of their thoughts is also troubled and so not dead.

And the object of their grief himself worries for them. May the hearts of all fine the truth brings them strength! And I certainly appreciate Merry's frustration at the thought of being left behind!

· Chapter 33: Calm Before the Storm
An apt title for the chapter. I like seeing Boromir like this. Thoughtful and mindful of things other than just fighting. He needs this new found wisdom in the time after the war, unless you plan on killing him off after all...

· Chapter 32: Darkness Approaches
The waiting before the storm. It is good to see Faramir ready and strong for whatever is to come. It is heartbreaking to see them all mourning for Boromir, knowing that he still lives ;-).

It is great to see the beacon lighting through Boromir's eyes. That is one of my favorite scenes in ROTK movie, and you bring back the memories with the description here.

I find I like the increased appreciation and contemplation of the beauties around him as he approaches his home and appreciates his rebirth at Amon Hen. And they are certainly right about the clouds overwhelming the sky, as we know!

· Chapter 32: Darkness Approaches
You 'spoke' Denethor so well I swore I was standing by his side, along with faithful, not simple, Durlin. Oh, and the no safe road for Boromir near broke my heart. Denethor must feel so encompassed by the Enemy.
As for Isildur's Bane - I think Denethor will grasp the truth before Faramir even speaks it.
Hopefully, when Faramir has a moment away from his father, Durlin will speak of hope.

· Chapter 31: Fire on the Mountain
Incredibly good writing with the scene between Denethor and Hirgon. I'm so glad you put in the details about the Southern beacons and the men they would loose to the fight for those lands! Excellently done! Whoo hooo!
I love Boromir seeing the beacons.... it is spectacular. And his resolve at the end....
What an awesome, awesome chapter. You have outdone yourself. I am sure Boromir is pleased...

Forearmed is better than to delay too late. I am glad Boromir is able to predict precisely how his father seeks to bring all who can come into the city to offer it the defense it needs. And he still moves forward steadily. Excellent!
