That was so sweet! And "storm Lenniel" - that just made me think of my little cousin and how true and almost completely accurate it is when the personalities of young girls are involved. I got quite the giggle fit when I read the part where the twins left poor Glorfindel confused. Can only imagine what worries about how the twins discovered where mothers came from went through his mind. Glad Lenniel got caught and I'm sure she got her just due. Good writing.

Very cute story. So characteristic of young boys or elves in this case. Good luck in the contest.

Well, for heaven's sake!!! What happens to Lenniel!!! Was she punished for ruining her Begetting Dress? And what, prithee, is this begetting business about, anyway? And does she ever get that kiss?
Good story, LKK! I enjoyed it thoroughly!!
Author's reply
I decided to leave Lenniel's fate to the reader's imagination. She did get punished, but the precise punishment is up to you. She never did get her Begetting Day kiss. At least not for that Begetting Day. ;)
Thanks for leaving me a review. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
PS: Begetting Day is the elven equivalent of a human birthday.

Hah! I laughed my way through this one - you've got kids pegged all right; the Twins' ruminations reminded me of overheard conversations between my daughter and my godchildren, trying to figure out how things work. My only complaint is that you didn't let us know what befell Lenniel!
Author's reply
I'm glad you thought I got the twins' musings right. I don't have young ones of my own, so I had to go by memories of my own childhood.
I decided to leave Lenniel's precise fate to the reader. No matter what I could come up with, I knew it wouldn't be satisfactory. Too harsh for those who liked her. Too easy for those who hated her. This way, she'll get precisely what you want her to get.
Thanks for dropping me a review. :)

Can't you just picture his face as he wonders why the Galadriel is going to give him "her best" when he's ready to become an ada?? *snicker*

Oh, my, I think Lenniel is having a begetting day not son to be forgotten...though I am sure she will wish very much to forget it!
Author's reply
I wonder if that perfect elven memory extends to their young childhood? I bet Lenniel hopes it doesn't. This wasn't one of those begetting days to remember, was it?

LOL! Oh, the wonderful reasoning of elflings. Yes, ellyth train to become naneths, a job as important and difficult as that of a warrior, requiring strentht and endurance and cunning, though slightly different other skills.
Poor Glorfindel :D
Author's reply
I think naneths have a very difficult job. They certainly need all the training they can get, especially naneths who have to cope with 2 clever ellyn or a very controlling elleth. :)
Thanks for the review, Nilmandra.

Good! I'm glad Lenniel got caught by her own mother - she doesn't sound very pleased! And Elladan and Elrohir go running off to play - very sweet. I liked their conversation in the linen cupboard. A nice story, LKK.

Author's reply
I expect Lenniel won't be joining the twins outside any time soon, if her mother has anything to say about it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the story, Jay. Thanks for letting me know.

Author's reply
I hadn't originally planned on following up on Lenniel's fate. But after I posted the first chapter, so many reviewers wanted to know what happened to the little strumpet. I had to come up with some fitting fate for her. The Epilogue is definitely a reviewers' request chapter. :)

Most definitely. That's a part of mother training the twins haven't considered yet. But Lenniel is certainly aware! ;)

I love this little story!
OK. I have to tell you a story about my niece. When she was about 7, she asked my brother in law if he was the tooth fairy. He asked her why she thought that and she said she saw him leave the money under her pillow for her tooth. He admitted he had done that. She thought for a while and then asked him if the other parents knew he was the tooth fairy.
I thought that was priceless! Especially since he's a career Air Force officer.
Author's reply
I'm glad you enjoyed my little twins' little story, daw. :)
And thanks for sharing the story about your niece. That was priceless. Perhaps you could develop a short one-shot about Legolas from that tale. *hint! hint!*

ohhh you have to continue this!!! i loved it!! i sort of wish they had kissed!! hhaha :)
i gather arwen is not born yet!!
Author's reply
You're right; Arwen isn't born yet. The twins have nearly 100 years yet before she enters their lives. I don't think either twin would have liked it much if Lenniel had gotten that kiss. There will be a little more to come. Elrohir, at least, is determined to figure out where mothers come from. :0)

Hey I was wondering about this fic just a couple days ago!! Glad to see an update!
I knew that it was Elrohir! LOL!!! Loved the conversation between the twins where they come to the conclusion that mothers are NOT grown up ellyth, and then Elrohir is like "Wait, then where do mothers come from?" LOL!! Great job. Hope to see the next part soon.
Author's reply
I'm so glad you remembered this story from when I started it so long ago, Iawen! Hopefully, the next part won't take so long to write. *crosses fingers*

Oi! That was adorable! Poor Elrohir! And poor Elladan! I do hope they will manage to evade the evil Ellyth. I hope, also, that Celebrian will come along soon to give Elrohir his much needed hurt-go-away kiss.
Author's reply
I'm afraid our twins have many years of facing the evils of ellyth ahead of them before ellyth stop being so evil. But for the rest of the day at least, one particular evil ellyth will leave them alone. She's run into some trouble of her own. ;-)

What a good question, Elrohir! Where do they come from? Maybe there's some sort of transmutation process. Maybe they get into a cocoon as worm-like ellyth and come out as butterfly nanas!
These two are very funny. Poor Elladan. He's been threatened!

Poor Elrohir! Orc-y elleth and a pained wrist to boot. I hope he does find his nana soon for a kiss to his wrist.
It is amazing how different mothers are from elfling ellyths, both in how little ellyn see them and how their kisses make them feel.
I love the idea of the twins hiding in a linen cabinet. I think Glorfindel should find them there *grin* - I am sure he knows how to handle aggressive ellyth and can give two elflings some advice!
Author's reply
I feel sorry for Elrohir, too. He's had a hard day of it. :-(

Oh, I know you must have little ones or be channeling for them *g*. The behavior is so perfectly descibed, it had me chuckling remembering a similar incident when my nieces and nephews were young. I guess little elflings aren't immune. Lovely.
Author's reply
LOL, no, no little ones of my own. But I do have a niece and nephew who don't realize they're serving as character models. And I have to admit, the whole "birthday kiss" idea might have a slightly autobiographical touch to it! ;-)
Thanks for the review!
