Excellent chapter! You've woven a great Eomer/Lothiriel tale by placing them together when Grima still had sway at Edoras. I've been trying to think of another way out for Lothiriel, and briefly thought of having her confess everything to Eomer and then they could pretend to have had an argument while secretly knowing that it was all an act. But everyone is so close at the Golden Hall, and Grima has spies, that it probably would not have worked -- and that's assuming Eomer could hold his temper and act a part! So I think that Lothiriel leaving is for the best at this time.

That was a very satisfying ending to a great story. This story accompanied me for so long. Unfortunately, I was buried in RL the last couple of month so I couldn't read. But it was worth the wait. Now I had several chapters together to read. I like your Lothiriel which in each story of yours is unique. The same is true for Eomer. I loved the twist on the standard wedding customs. Talk about blending traditions.
Author's reply
Hello obsidianj,
nice to have you back from RL! I love to pursue the 'what if..' of different situations they could have met and of the different characters they could be - although for some reason they always end up squabbling ;-)
So thanks for taking the time to review and letting me know you enjoyed the story. And take care RL doesn't swallow you up again!

Hello Galimeril,
it was a bit strange for me as well to reach the end, as these two have lived in my mind for over a year. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the story - and thanks for your good wishes. The flat already looks like a bomb has hit it, a good sign ;-)

A lovely chapter, Lia! I pity poor Ivorwen. It must be so uncomfortable for her. What I really like, Lia, is that you've tied everything together and didn't leave loose ends in the story. I'm glad you continued this story, even when you realized the length it would have to be. Thanks for writing!
Author's reply
Hello Alquawende,
I feel a bit sorry for the maid myself, but I think she'll soon take up the offer of comfortable retirement in Gondor. And it's good to hear you enjoyed the tying up of all the various loose ends.
Thanks for reviewing!

Hello Linda,
thank you so much for your kind words! I am sure I will return to Middle Earth every now and again, although perhaps not for another long tale. But then you never know!

Hi Lia,
I enjoyed this immensely--it's great to see that they are happy and content after all they went through! It's good too that Erchirion will stay longer in Rohan, but what of Amroth? I'm also looking forward to reading your short Eomer and Lothy scenarios and hope that things move smoothly during your move.
PS. I added your gmail to my contacts list using my real name just now. I would love to hear updates about your novel.
Thanks for a wonderful story.
Author's reply
Hello Whitewave,
I'm not sure what will happen to Amrothos, but I get the feeling that he'll go on chasing the ladies for a while longer. And perhaps pay some visits to Rohan to see his siblings?
For the next few weeks I'll be busy with my move, but I hope to start writing again once things calm down a bit. There's still that abduction scenario floating round in my mind ;-)
Thanks for reviewing and I'll keep you posted if I ever get on with that original story.

Ah, a satisfying end, Lia! It's good to see what happened to so many of the interesting OCs we've seen... I especially enjoyed that Beorngar was appointed Captain of the Queen's Guard... so fitting! LOL!
I really enjoyed this lovely tale, and am sorry to see it end. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Hello Barbara,
it's true that I had quite a few loose threads to tie up in this chapter! And when I first introduced Beorngar I had no idea that he'd stay in the tale until the end, but now that appointment is rather fitting, isn't it.
And it's been a pleasure writing for you all. Thanks for reviewing!

Hi!
I just want to say that you made me laugh and cry so many times with this story! that is wonderful to see them evolving in their love for each other. Being in a new relation myself and moving in with my boyfriend in July, I feel sometimes like Lothiriel and I liked reading about her.
Thank you!
Author's reply
Hello Vanadesse,
I'm pleased to hear I managed to move you so much with my story! Eomer is my favourite character from the books, and I like to think that he found happiness in his life after losing so much of his family.

Ah, a proper first Yule for husband and wife as they prepare for the child to come and see the first fruits of the new order.
And Erchirion has a love amongst the Rohirrim, does he? A triple tie now between Gondor and Rohan!
Love the teasing of the husband and the baiting of the lady's maid! No, I don't think she'll stay in Rohan! Heh!
Wonderful tale, and look to seeing more in time. And I'll be thinking about your original work!
Author's reply
Hello Larner,
yes, I wanted to bring the story full circle again to Yule to show the difference. And quite a few of my readers asked what would become of the twins, so I thought I'd give a glimpse of their future as well.
It's good to hear you liked the story and thank you for reviewing!

Another delightfully romantic chapter. I just love the custom of the bridal staff. What a sweet start to their married life--I especially enjoyed the references you made about their first few days together--the wet nightgown, etc. I feel a bit sad though because the story is about to end but also excited that another one might start too?
Author's reply
Hello Whitewave,
I had fun coming up with all these customs (although some of them, like the 'putting to bed', I just borrowed). And it seemed natural that they would look back to the start of their relationship and what attracted them to each other.
As for another story - I have got ideas for that, but it might not involve Eomer and Lothiriel.

*Sigh* If only there were such a man, eh? Truly a pleasure to read, I like the idea of the ribbons, maybe I'll find a way to work that into a poem or something, it's pretty. Very creative, I loved the pillow fight, I laughed right along with them! I hope you have a great week!
Author's reply
Hello Galimeril,
feel free to use the idea of the ribbons. I got the idea from a Swedish midsummer custom, where people dance around a maypole and twine long ribbons around it. And I'm pleased that you liked the pillow fight!
Have a great week, too!

The wedding was definitely original. I was actually quite taken aback and shocked when Eomer threw the sword, without it's sheath, into he air. Poor Imrahil. I can just imagine him beset by a heart-attack, if something bad had happened... Very enjoyable chapter and thanks so very much for writing!
Author's reply
Hello Alqua,
not as shocked as Imrahil ;-) But I thought if Eomer manages to throw his sword up in the air and catch it again during a battle, he might also do so at his wedding. Poor Imrahil will need a stiff drink now, though.

Wow! The short wait is such a treat in itself and the chapter too was delightfully romantic. Poor Lothy--she must have looked like a deer caught in headlights in the tent with Ceolwen. Wonder how Eomer will address that situation. ;-D Will we also get a glimpse of their kids/married life?
Author's reply
Hello Whitewave,
I felt a bit sorry for putting Lothiriel through that talk myself, but just couldn't resist the temptation! We'll get a glimpse of how Eomer will 'address the situation' in the next chapter and then a short epilogue set some months later, so you'll see a little bit of their married life.

Oh, what lovely wedding customs you created!
I especially enjoyed how you incorporated Éomer tossing Gúthwinë into the air... that is one of my favorite moments in the Battle of the Pelennor!
But I never before actually thought about how difficult it is to toss a heavy sword into the air and not catch it in an inauspicious location ;-) ... that takes real skill and coordination. I would have frozen in sheer terror were I in Lothíriel's position.
What a great chapter, Lia! And I am so pleased to see Éomer and Lothíriel together at last, with the blessing of all.... Well done!

It can't have been much fun being a woman in those days. I based a whole story on Aragorn's rather tactless remark about Eowyn!I love Lothiriel's reactiion and just perfect they become engaged in a stable and there will soon be the patter of tiny hooves!
Author's reply
Hello Linda,
I never quite liked that exchange about Eowyn between Aragorn and Eomer either. Tolkien was just rather conservative in that way, I think. Perhaps Eowyn had a similar reaction to Lothiriel in this chapter!
