· Chapter 8: For the Wizard Who Has Everything
Dear Shirebound,
This is a very late review. As I said, I have read your Hobbits stories many times, and have always enjoyed them. This chapter is one of my favourites. I should have left a review sooner, I can't recall now why I did not do so. Did the site not allow non-member to leave review, perhaps? Anyway, thank you for sharing your gentle stories.

A lovely way for the Hobbits to finish their day, and it must have been pleasurable for Elrond as well!
Author's reply
I hope they all enjoyed that day, and every day. :)

· Chapter 1: The Tol Eressëa Lending Library
I love the image of the elves, whom we always associate as being much more elegant than we, sprawled on the grass!
I also love Elrond's wisdom in dealing with the hobbits need to heal; overall hobbits love company, good food, near elegant living (for farm folk) and good company. A library is full of tales and stories to share and if a hobbit can't love that he can at least love the crowd of strange folk coming to read these books. And how clever of Elrond to make them in a language that some of these Tol Eressea elves cannot read!
Just brilliant and heart warming at the same time.
Author's reply
Oh my, thank you. I'm so delighted that you enjoyed this. I love imagining how the hobbits found new lives -- and new friendships -- in the West.

'There's no growing old while the Sea is still young.' *sigh* That is nice. I love Tolkien's vision of the Sea ...
Author's reply
I live about a ten-minute drive from the ocean, and love to watch and listen to the waves, and think about lands faraway. Somewhere out there, the hobbits are enjoying life in the West.

The hey diddle diddle song again! :-)
Yes, Gandalf would be very upset if they started treating him formally or some such...
I've always loved the sheer mythological feel in some of Tolkien's writing -- the sun and the moon being one of those...
Author's reply
That hey diddle diddle song gets around!

It's as they've said before...they're all part of the one big story, and for all its toil and suffering they got a glorious chapter indeed... :-)

It would be amazing to have all that time to learn and grow, and then an equal time to put it all to use. But then, there's always more to learn...
Author's reply
I'm sure most of us have wondered what we'd do, and learn given all the time in the world.

I just love this story. My camera bringing the horses close up felt a little like it. Would now love a sequel about Frodo seeing Earendil's ship!

I hadn't thought about a parallel with Gallileo! What a joy to give Frodo this 'magical' experience. The amazing Feanor must have been a combination of every wonderful and curious inventor who ever lived.
Elves certainly like to be on the cutting edge, don't they? =)
Author's reply
They sure do, and it's a pleasure imagining little tales like this.

Oh my gosh, I love this so much! I can rarely get enough of stories of Frodo finding happiness and healing in the West. I seriously believe he would have---why else would Tolkien have sent him there?
This is just precious. And I need one of those after-twilight lights---it would save on electricity! Very clever!
I would love to read a wee sequel to this as Frodo and Bilbo go inside and find out just how comfy and hobbity their new hole is!
Author's reply
I seriously believe he would have---why else would Tolkien have sent him there?
I totally agree, of course! :)
Thank you for the sweet review, Lily. *hugs hugs*
