This is very nice, sweet, but sad. You have to feel the sorrow they feel knowing they'll not see her for a long time. Nice touch

I think they were probably aware that there was a chance they'd never see her again. The choice between mortality and immortality lay ahead for all of them.

Yes - if Celebrían and Arwen had known it was their final parting, it would have been even sadder than it was. I firmly believe that Elladan and Elrohir were reunited with their mother, though!

It must have been terrible for all of them - Elladan and Elrohir blaming themselves for not rescuing her sooner; Elrond blaming himself for not being able to heal her; and Celebrían blaming herself for not being strong enough to stay. Thank you!

Thank you - Elrohir is my favourite character to write (can you tell?) and I find it quite easy now to get inside him and think how he'd react. Despite trying to be strong for Celebrían's sake, he can't hide his sorrow.

Thank you! I've always imagined Elladan and Elrohir supporting each other at this time - but Arwen needed her brothers as well.
