Larner · 19 August 2008 · Chapter 6: Tomb Raiders

Oh, I agree--they would have respect in such a case.

Author's reply

And Elladan would never have explored the tomb if he'd known what it was ...

Larner · 27 July 2008 · Chapter 5: The Bridal Chest

Things do change over the years, even for Elves, apparently; but none so great as the one that draws her west, away from Middle Earth, her family, her home, her loves--all of them tarnished by what was done to her. Love the symbolism of the chest.

Author's reply

For Celebrían the happy memories are still there, but they mean very little just now. The chest represents much of her life, and she will remember that in time.

Agape4Gondor · 26 July 2008 · Chapter 5: The Bridal Chest

Oh my! A really bittersweet moment... Darn - I hate Elven stories... they always tear me up. The chest being filled piece by piece, age by age, memory by memory, was beautiful... especially the wee things...... *sobs*

Author's reply

It all meant little to Celebrían at the time - but Arwen filled the chest with the things she knew her mother would remember and love.

Agape4Gondor · 26 July 2008 · Chapter 4: Narn I Hîn Elrond

Wow - so you're saying she is still immortal? Though slightly (grins) AU - I really like this... loved the silver... and her brothers... and the cloak! Nice job.

Author's reply

Hmm - I don't really do AU, so I'm not sure!

Alassante · 24 June 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Here is another review that I wanted to leave a copy on here so you had it with the story. Aww this is very sweet. The fact that the twins wanted to celebrate Aragorn's birthday with him enough to travel so far, I doubt they were 'in the neighborhood'. I always love stories that shows the affection between Aragorn and his adopted family. I don't think that Peter Jackson showed the love Elrond felt for him very well and we know what he did to the twins. *sob* The books hint at it but do not delve into it as much as Aragorn's relationship with Arwen. So its only fanfiction that gives us a little bit more into the love they must have felt for him. This was a very well written and enjoyable fiction, Jay.

Author's reply

Thanks, Alassante - this is why I love fanfic! I can explore things Tolkien only hinted at.

Kitty · 21 May 2008 · Chapter 4: Narn I Hîn Elrond

Yes, Arwen sailing with her brothers is another option, though it is still sad that Arwen had to part from her beloved forever. I so wish the Professor would have given them both a happier ending!

Author's reply

I've read some stories recently where Elladan and Elrohir wait in Lórien until Arwen fades and dies - at least this version spares them that!

Larner · 21 May 2008 · Chapter 4: Narn I Hîn Elrond

It would have been so good in many ways had she indeed been able to sail. However, she had made her decision, and it proved a bitter one when she realized her beloved preceded her.

Author's reply

It's difficult to imagine how this AU would have worked out for Arwen in the end. Would she have learned to be happy in Valnor?

Agape4Gondor · 2 May 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

That was sweet.

Author's reply

:>) Thank you!

Kitty · 29 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Great birthday surprise for Estel! He had to be a bit lonely at times down there in the South, always forced to hide his true identity, always having to be careful what he said. How nice of the twins to visit! And they found the perfect way to find Estel without any problems.

Author's reply

It would have seemed odd if they'd arrived and started asking for him. This way, he's sent to them!

Larner · 29 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Lovely--he must be in Rohan if he's having to translate Sindarin. And they've come for his birthday, have they? Wonderful! Nice, Jay.

Author's reply

I'm not sure if he would have been in Rohan or Gondor at this time, so deliberately left it vague!

Grumpy · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

I can just see the twins thinking that they have not seen Estel in awhile, that maybe they should take a little trip and wish him a happy birthday, if they hurry they can make it.

Author's reply

They are very fond of their little brother, and love to surprise him like this!

meckinock · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Sneaky. Very sneaky. But very nice. What a wonderful birthday surprise for my favorite Ranger in disguise.

Author's reply

Sneaky and cunning - but for all the right reasons.

shirebound · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

"...this way, we knew you would be sent to interpret for us, so we could see you without raising suspicion.” How clever! :)

Author's reply

Oh yes, they're very clever and cunning :>)

Idril Celebrindal · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Oh this was great! I smiled all through it. Idril

Author's reply

Thanks - I'm glad it made you smile :)

ellie · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

How sweet! I love it! What wonderful big brothers! I wish you would write another long twin fic.

Author's reply

I love the twins as big brothers to Estel - however much they tease him, they love him. I don't know about another long twins fic - but I'm finally writing 'Beyond The Dimrill Gate' again, after far too long. There'll be an update today or tomorrow!!

Esteliel · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Oh, this is absolutely delightful! What a great find! And what a sweet and endearing moment. Had I been Aragorn, I would have been SO delighted to see my brothers. I love this drabblet to pieces! It's great! Esteliel

Author's reply

The only problem for Estel here is that no-one knows who he is, so they'd wonder why he was so pleased to see these messengers.

Elflingimp · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Messengers From The West

Very sweet those twins, I just luv them, very clever of them to speak Sindarien Deb the Imp

Author's reply

:>) Yes, they're clever - and cunning!

Bodkin · 31 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

How could the twins resist such games? It's not in a boy's nature - and there are two of them! But 'tables, chairs and stools' ... Well as long as it's only furniture. I think Elrond might come closer to snapping if it were books and scrolls.

Author's reply

Despite their dangerous games and vivid imaginations, the twins have a healthy sense of self-preservation. They know better than to damage Elrond's books!

Agape4Gondor · 10 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

This is FABULOUS! Oh my gosh... at first, I was afraid Imladris was under attack! And then.... well, it was great fun. I would have loved to have joined them! 'Course at my age, I'd probably have broken something! :-)

Author's reply

Under attack? Yes, by over-imaginative children and a grown elf who really should know better by now :>)

Agape4Gondor · 10 March 2008 · Chapter 1: Namárië!

I must say that I'm glad you started a 'new' grouping. I had the darndest time trying to find out what I'd read and not.... So this is great - hopefully, I will keep up with you! Lovely drabble... a very difficult time for all concerned... and I loved the three-way farewell.

Author's reply

I was finding it hard to keep track of the stories too - so time for a new series! This must have been a dreadfully sad time for all concerned, but I wanted the twins and Arwen to be together at the moment of parting.

Kitty · 8 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

Nice extension at the end! Ah yes, what is Ada's anger (or Erestor's) after surviving Gondolin? *grin*

Author's reply

I think Elrond and Erestor are used to this sort of thing - especially when Glorfindel's behind it!

Kitty · 8 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

Oh yes, they are alive - though somehow I have the feeling they will need a certain balrog-slayer to protect them from Ada when he finds out *how* they did act out the fall of Gondolin *lol*

Author's reply

Their parents are used to them acting out Glorfindel's stories! I've expanded the story a little now as well.

Larner · 7 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

And Nana and Ada are likely to wish to remove their heads! Ah, children's imaginations! Heh!

Author's reply

Oh, yes - they're in trouble now! I've expanded the drabble now to include extra details.

docmon · 7 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

They may not be alive for long, once Ada gets a look at the wreckage... Nice use of that closing line!

Author's reply

And I suspect Ada is on the way now ... Thanks! The line could have been very angsty, but it seemed to fit in with the twins' games as well :>)

Elflingimp · 7 March 2008 · Chapter 2: The Fall of Gondolin

Well here I came thinking this was a serious story(Tee Hee!) I guess I was suprised! Elflings!!! LOL Hugs Deb the Imp

Author's reply

Serious? With the summary about Glorfindel's bad influence? *Grin* I can do serious, but this line just leant itself to elfling games!
