I wonder if, when she knitted Tulip, Eglantine realized she was providing her son with a companion conscience? Wonderful, particularly as she takes the piglet's share of the cookies!

Author's reply

Heh, heh - I think Pip really needs that extra conscience to help keep his mischievous self out of so much trouble! Thanks so much for commenting!

Cathleen, I have been enjoying your Pip & Tulip fics so much and this one was wonderful! You really have developed Tulip's voice so well in this. And of course, Pippin's responses to her (sometimes rather emphatic) nudging are perfect. I can just imagine what's going ot happen when they get home . Great job!

Author's reply

Thank you so much for your generous comments, they are much appreciated! I'm so glad to hear you like Tulip, she is still a work in progress.

Have you ever noticed how toddlers and slightly older younglings always tell on themselves one way or another? As a mother, I have had many times when I could barely suppress laughter when one of my kiddos did so. Tulip is a great way to show the magic of whimsy. Hope to hear more from her.

Author's reply

Absolutely, and I used that very idea as a model for this, too! I'm so pleased to hear you like Tulip - thank you!

Pippin's imagination is just delightful. Tulip is such a wonderful guardian and friend.

Author's reply

Awww, thanks Shirebound! I'm very pleased you like Tulip. Yes, she is the imaginative voice of Pip's conscience. Heaven knows the lad needs all the help he can get in staying out of trouble!

Aw! All warm and snuggly :-) I do so love Tulip! The opening scene was wonderfully done :-)

Author's reply

Thank you so much Pearl! I'm having great fun writing Tulip - she's truly taken on a life of her own.

Why, thank you! Glad you liked it!

Ahh, so cute! Lovely! Haven't had time to respond to the challenge myself--am working on my Yule fic--and all the others that are throwing themselves at me. Help! I'm under siege by plot bunnies and nuzguls!

Author's reply

Thank you! Tulip is the one who's had *me* under plot bunny siege lately! Glad you liked it.

Tulip’s knitted heart softened at the sight and her eyes shone. Awww! I've never heard of Tulip before. But I'm sure there are more stories to discover about Pippin and his knitted friend, aren't there? I also loved the name "Snowflake", very appropriate - and nice. I don't care what Merry thinks about it ;-) Thank you for this sweet little story!

Author's reply

Thanks so much for your kind comments, I'm very pleased to hear you enjoyed it! Tulip first appeared in my story "If You Could See What I Hear" which is still a WIP. You can locate it here on SOA - thank you for asking! Cathleen

This is totally *beyond* sweet, adorable, and darling! I just can't get enough of Piglet and her hobbit lad.

Author's reply

Sirebound, thank you so much! It's *very* gratifying to hear you enjoy Tulip with Pippin. The knitted piglet has become more than I expected her to be in the beginning, and she is great fun to write! Thanks again for reading!
