whitewave · 1 August 2021 · Chapter 12: Flotsam: Chapter 2

I enjoyed the pet names they gave each other! Good that they met each other incognito -- loved the touch of Eomer being half-naked. There are too many fun moments to mention, thanks for sharing this.

Author's reply

I too always enjoy the scenarios where they don't know each other's identity, especially if they clash a bit at first. Thanks for reading!

whitewave · 28 July 2021 · Chapter 11: Flotsam: Chapter 1

I love all the different mini-stories with all the scrapes and turns that you put them both through! This particular one is quite action-packed I think and their "meet-cute" is quite memorable too. So many funny moments and even Amrothos manages to amuse even if he is only mentioned--I love it!

Author's reply

Thanks! It's fun to imagine all the different ways they could have met, even though Tolkien would probably not approve of most of them ;-) And Amrothos will have a quick cameo in the next chapter.

Radbooks · 24 July 2021 · Chapter 11: Flotsam: Chapter 1

Oh, wonderful start! I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter!

Author's reply

Thank you! And there will be more next weekend.

SimplegirlfromLP · 5 June 2020 · Chapter 10: Joust: Alliance

These little stories were delightful, everything you write I thoroughly enjoy. Thank you for posting.

Author's reply

Thank you! This is a nice format for playing around with an idea, without it - hopefully - morphing into a full blown novel, as so many of my stories tend to do. Glad to hear you enjoyed them!

Linda Hoyland · 2 November 2017 · Chapter 10: Joust: Alliance

It is always a treat to read a new story from you and this was truly delightful.

Author's reply

Thank you! I've had this idea of Lothiriel dumping Eomer in the water in my mind for a long time, but only now got round to writing it. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Larner · 5 September 2017 · Chapter 10: Joust: Alliance

A wonderful ending to the story, and worthy of both of them, considering how Lothiriel is in this story. Just picked up "The Elephant Thief" and hope to get to it soon, once I'm finished with my current Nook book. Sounds interesting!

Author's reply

Thank you! I just felt like writing something lighthearted and this idea fit the bill. And I hope you'll like Elephant Thief :-)

Larner · 5 September 2017 · Chapter 9: Joust: Truce

Oh, but so fun! First they dunk one another in the stream, and now he realizes that she is Imrahil's daughter and a minx as well! Delightful as they draw one another to themselves.

Author's reply

She's certainly a rogue ;-) But as you said, one that draws him in...

curiouswombat · 4 September 2017 · Chapter 10: Joust: Alliance

And a lovely ending to a delightful story.

Author's reply

Thanks, Wombat :-)

demeter d · 28 August 2017 · Chapter 9: Joust: Truce

Make me number three, I love that last line! I believe this heralds the return of Lady Owl! That was the first one of these I found, and has long been my most favorite. Now this one shares first place with the other.

Author's reply

You're right, these two incarnations are quite similar, they even share a bird mask. Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

bookworm · 27 August 2017 · Chapter 9: Joust: Truce

/Wheeze THAT LAST LINE.

Author's reply

She's as quick with words as with a staff ;-)

curiouswombat · 27 August 2017 · Chapter 9: Joust: Truce

I absolutely love that last line :)

Author's reply

I was giggling away while writing it ;-D

curiouswombat · 22 August 2017 · Chapter 8: Joust: Challenge

What fun!

Author's reply

Thanks, Wombat!

Kath · 22 August 2017 · Chapter 8: Joust: Challenge

When the final story appeared on tge site I realised I hadn't read any of them. What a delight it has been to read so many different scenarios about the first meeting between Lothiriel and Eomer. You make them seem such opposites, but at the same time each is very stubborn. We know it's going to end happily but it's wonderful to read the misunderstandings, scrapes and dislike they seem to have to go through first! I loved all of your stories and am sad that this seems to be the last. Many thanks. X

Author's reply

Hi Kath, you're right, somehow my characters always end up being pretty stubborn! And I like playing round with them, so I might well add another scenario at a later date. This particular one, for example, absolutely insisted on being written ;-) Thanks for reviewing!

Larner · 20 August 2017 · Chapter 8: Joust: Challenge

Now, THAT was quite the manner in which to meet the lady! And they each managed to upend the other as intended, I see. Lovely!

Author's reply

I think they've both made a lasting impression on the other... but more next week!

Larner · 20 August 2017 · Chapter 7: Equine Royalty

Oh, but I see I must find "The Elephant Thief" next, considering how much I loved "The Bride of the Sun." Impressing one another must have worked for the two of them.

Author's reply

Being honest with each other is always a good idea - and I hope you'll enjoy 'Elephant Thief'!

Larner · 20 August 2017 · Chapter 6: True Love Knows no Season

Ah! Two cases of love at first sight! And well done in both cases, apparently. Perhaps not quite eleven months for these two to come together, but they will have a lovely foal to celebrate that union, won't they? Heh!

Author's reply

Yes, and perhaps their own firstborn can ride that foal one day :-)

Larner · 20 August 2017 · Chapter 5: From Dutiful Daughter to Virtuous Wife

Somehow I missed finishing the series. This one is so delightful. Aunt Invriniel in this one is so like my grandmother who thought of us as her great Barbie dolls to dress and pose, only we were already far too self-directed. And she is definitely the proper princess for this lion!

Author's reply

LOL, poor you! I had a godmother like that, who always gave me perfume for my birthday, probably because she didn't think me feminine enough... Thanks for reviewing and I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed this story!

Artemismoonhuntress · 1 September 2012 · Chapter 7: Equine Royalty

Lia, I first found your stories of Eomer and Lothiriel on fanfiction.net and was immediately enthralled your writing style is humorous yet can portray other emotions, unlike so many other wooden stories I've read. I think my favorite version is On the Wings of the Storm, this one, and The Abduction. Keep writing! Artemis Moon Huntress

Author's reply

Hello Artemis Moon Huntress, thank you! Somehow a bit of humour creeps into all my stories, even the serious ones. And 'Wings' and 'Abduction' are two of my own favourites as well. Thanks for reviewing! Lia

Linda Hoyland · 30 August 2012 · Chapter 7: Equine Royalty

What a delightful story! I laughed out loud.I was only thinking a few days ago how much I missed your stories.I've been rereading the older ones.

Author's reply

Hello Linda, nice to hear from you again! And I'm flattered to hear that you've been rereading my stories. If real life doesn't eat me up, there should be a new one coming up soon. Take care Lia

galathil · 29 August 2012 · Chapter 7: Equine Royalty

Hi Lialathuveril, thank you for your wonderful set of little's stories about Eomer and Lothiriel.Eomer being one of my favourite characters and not enough is written about Lothiriel. Can't wait for you next lot of work.LOL Galathil

Author's reply

Hello Galathil, as you can probably guess they're some of my favourite characters as well ;-) I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed this series and I hope you like the new story as well. Thanks for reviewing! Lia

Virtuella · 29 August 2012 · Chapter 7: Equine Royalty

Aw, sweet and very amusing! And I'm glad to find you posting a story after such a long hiatus! :)

Author's reply

Hello Virtuella, yes, it's been a long time! Not that I've been idle, but mostly writing original stuff, not LotR. I hope you've been keeping well! Lia

Larner · 28 August 2012 · Chapter 4: The Lion Tamer

ow, that was quite a different view of Lothiriel--rather sedate in her way, but patient with one who started out behaving like and idiot! Glad he straightened up for her. Obviously the staff realized she was a treasure before he did!

Author's reply

Yes, for me the fun about these little vignettes is to draw different Lothiriels and Eomers, without getting bogged down in a long tale. This one is rather rougher than usual and as you said, she's more reserved.

Larner · 28 August 2012 · Chapter 3: Stable Girl

They ARE well matched, the two of them! Glad the Riders cheered. They aren't going to treat her anywhere as badly as she might have thought.

Author's reply

Yes, I agree. I'm sure she'll soon start to conform to Rohirric customs...

Larner · 28 August 2012 · Chapter 2: Lady Owl

Not quite as artless as the last scenario, but still slightly naive. Loved the parallels between the story and the reality! Heh! "If I kiss you, will you turn into a princess?" No wonder she was smiling!

Author's reply

'Kalif Storch' was one of my favourite childhood tales, so it was fun to include that into a story of my own.

Larner · 27 August 2012 · Chapter 1: Letters to Edoras

Ah! How delightful to see this lighthearted Lothiriel charming her betrothed with her letters! And I think I'd like Draug, although my own wolflings are only four and a half pounds (Brendi) and six pounds (Pandora). But, then mine are small Pomeranians rather than coursers. Heh!

Author's reply

Hello Larner, how nice to hear from you again! I'd like to have a Draug (or something smaller) as well, but unfortunately it's not very practical when living in a city and working. But I remembered from my childhood days how destructive young dogs are ;-) Thanks for reviewing! Lia
