awesome. I loved it so much

sassy · 28 December 2012 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

Oh man what happened to Frodo? I love Aragorn's reactions to what Boromir was saying about the hobbits. Loved the fact that Aragorn thought there was something wrong with his pipe :)

This was fantastic. Perfectly in character, in style and with very well paced action. An engrossing story that was a delight to read. Loved.

This was a delightful tale all the way around. I'm sorry - I thought I had been writing reviews every chapter, but I see I didn't. I very much liked this - a good 'addition' to Tolkien's tale. I loved the Fellowship and I loved the adventure and the drama. Very well written.

docmon · 24 May 2008 · Chapter 4: Chapter Four

This is terrific, budgielover! Very exciting. Looks like I'm going to be up a bit late reading the rest of this, instead of "a chapter or two" like I intended. Too good to put down! docmon

Linda Hoyland · 15 May 2008 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

An exciting conclusion to an exciting story.I loved the way they all helped one another,

Larner · 21 April 2008 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

There is hope for Boromir, if he's found the way about a Hobbit's wariness! And once more they are free of danger--for the moment! Such a clever plan! Yay!

Merry · 21 April 2008 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

Wonderfully done! I really enjoyed this!

Andrea · 21 April 2008 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

“I don’t want to breathe smoke,” Frodo said despondently. “Why doesn’t anyone listen to me?” LOL!!! Yes, why doesn't anyone listen to the Ringbearer? It's obvious that he had his share of smoke already ;-) On the other hand, I'm convinced that Aragorn's remedy will do him good! That was a great battle! And once again each member of the fellowship contributed to the final victory in his own special way. “Dangerous folk, hobbits,” Gimli rumbled. Well, actually I had thought that the title referred to the goblins. On second thought - yes, sometimes it's dangerous to be near a hobbit, especially if his name is Meriadoc Brandybuck :) Thank you for another wonderful story!

Pearl Took · 21 April 2008 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

“Dangerous folk, hobbits,” Gimli rumbled. “I think I had best remove temptation from the path of those two younglings.” He added the contents of the two cheesecloth bags to the one at his feet, grinding them carefully into the dust. “I told you I had deciphered their secret language,” Boromir said in response to Aragorn’s raised eyebrows. *Applause, Applause, Applause* Most Excellently Well Done Budgie!! And I loved Frodo complaining that no one was listening to him - LOL An exciting and wonderful story. I loved how you brought in further damage that was being done by Saruman. Wonderful!!

Pearl Took · 21 April 2008 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

“The hobbits remarked up on it,” Aragorn said thoughtfully. “Or Sam did. He said, ‘No cattails, or marsh-grass or water-weeds, or fish or frogs or anything edible’.” “Pippin remarked upon the lack of frogs,” Legolas corrected him. “In relation to the equal lack of breadcrumbs and butter,” Aragorn agreed. “Yes, he would.” Merry smiled, too tired to contest the comment. A wonderful wee bit :-) I'm eager to see how well Gimli's plan works, so I'm off to the final chapter!

Dreamflower · 20 April 2008 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

And now, like all of your wonderful tales, the Fellowship rejoins its destined path of canon! I really love the way you are able to do that so well! No matter how thrilling or suspenseful the adventure, the goal is never lost, and they always return to the Quest relatively undamaged! And I also enjoyed very much the way they all work together to show their own strengths. Poor Merry, though, forced to give up his little stash! *snicker*

Andrea · 20 April 2008 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

Let those orcs and wargs and goblins come! There waits an explosive surprise for them ;-) I agree with Dreamflower that in your stories each member of the fellowship shows his worth. Gimli knows everything about mining and rocks, but it's the combination of rock ore AND Gandalf's addition that will do the trick, I think. I'm not quite sure about Merry's role in the coming fight, though! Frodo is still suffering a lot. I hope he will get better soon! And thank you for the quick update :)

Dreamflower · 20 April 2008 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

Oh, Budgie! Your Gimli rocks!! (no pun intended) You know, one thing I love about your stories is how each and every member of the Fellowship gets his opportunity to shine, and that they all work together so well! This is wonderful!

Lindelea · 20 April 2008 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

Ooo, exciting. Gimli created black powder, did he? The Dwarf's discovery was interesting. Trust him to know his rock and the results of mining. Frodo's cough and fever are worrisome. Incipient pneumonia? Two quick updates, hurrah. *tosses confetti*

Larner · 20 April 2008 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

Aha! Mine tailings! Have been through the Sierra Nevadas about Virginia City, and have seen my share. And now they have plans for it? And dear Saruman is to blame for this, is he? Why am I not surprised? He does seem to like turning fair lands desert....

grumpy · 19 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Ah, Sam can take care of himself and the pony to, I always thought that he swung a mean frying pan. Gimli got wet afterall.

Elflingimp · 19 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Well, well, now that was a good chapter Budgie, I enjoyed it much, but those leechs all I can say is ewwww! Can't wait for more. Hugs the Imp

Lindelea · 19 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Would have explained what? Whew. Glad Bill is all right. Glad Frodo spoke. Glad Sam didn't get et, either. Quite the vivid battle description, up to your usual high standard. You almost make me pity the leeches. Almost. Looking forward to more.

Andrea · 19 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

I'm right glad that Frodo is on the mend. He is, isn't he? All those dead leeches make me worry! And I loved your description of Gimli in this chapter! Water goblins are no match for a dwarf with good battle axes. "That warmed the blood a little. Pity the others ran." That's 100% Gimli :) Last but not least: the obligatory cliffhanger! (Yay!) What is it about the water? Or was something IN the water? Loads of questions... I'm looking forward to reading the answers!

dond122 · 18 April 2008 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

Well, I am a very new viewer! Whatever it is, keep up with that interesting one!

Dreamflower · 18 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

I'm so glad Frodo's awake! Poor Sam! But I just adored the image of him wielding sword and...pan in defense of Bill. You painted that picture so perfectly! And I love your Gimli!

Pearl Took · 18 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Wow! Very exciting! From the dying leeches to the battle to save Sam and Bill, very edgy and suspenseful. Well done, Budgie :-) I'm always glad to see an update on this story!

Larner · 18 April 2008 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

I never thought I could feel sorry for leeches! Poor things! But Frodo is already recovering, and will be better with Sam by him. And Bill is apparently safe--no poisoned blade used on him, apparently!

Linda Hoyland · 28 March 2008 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight

Aragorn is so heroic and I love the way they all try to help poor Frodo.A gripping chapter.
