· Chapter 12: On The Stairs of Moria - A Double Drable (movie verse) (Boromir on the steps in Moria)
A splendid movie moment, and your novelization is spot on!
Author's reply
It seemed only right that one who lived under the shadow of Mount Doom would know what the trembling earth foretold. I cannot believe that Minas Tirith even... on a nasty day... would feel the tremors of the volcano! Thank you ever so much for a wondrous comment!

· Chapter 11: The High Warden's New Clothes - A bit more than a drabble (Boromir/Faramir)
:D
I think that wingéd helm is a bit much, too!
Author's reply
I can't believe Tolkien wrote the helmets that way!!!! He said they were based on Egyptian... Wow - odd lot and poor Faramir - Boromir had not idea he looked rather - silly!

· Chapter 10: A Lost Comrade - A Quadrabble (Boromir/Faramir/Denethor)
A sweetly touching scene--I loved Boromir's quick turnaround from "I will give him such a shaking--" (great line!) to comforting his brother. A very authentic life-moment that speaks to the kind hearts of all concerned.
Author's reply
Thank you. I had to write it for my friend... both 2 and 4 legged!

· Chapter 9: Of Airs and Heirs - A Drabble (Beregond)
A welcome glimpse of a very sympathetic character, who most certainly deserved all the best. And an heir for the master--life is good!
Author's reply
Beregond suffered - it seems any who lived in the White City (except for Finduilas) fell in love with it - and to be separated from it was about the cruelest punishment.... Yet, he was with Faramir!

· Chapter 8: Ent-Draught - A Drabble (Treebeard)
Oh, lovely! I can hear him!
And the first spill. That's really excellent.
I expect Merry and Pippin WOULD have been hasty! :)

· Chapter 7: Only A Mountain - A Drabble (Frodo)
In ages past, he would have felt an answering pain in his shoulder.
What a sense of timelessness this line provides! And what a peaceful little glimpse of Frodo healing. It has such a nice feel to it!
Author's reply
Thank you! About time the sweet Hobbit healed... I think it would have taken some time... but one day to realize, as he looks at something that might have been terrifying, to realize that he does NOT have the pain, nor the fear - what a joy-filled day!

· Chapter 6: Not Forgotten - A Double Drabble (Imrahil)
One of my favorite characters, and you write him wonderfully! This is another little drabble that has a great sound. Not to mention the images are stunning!
Author's reply
I absolutely adore Imrahil! Thanks for the vote of confidence in the writing of him.... Most appreciated.

· Chapter 5: Oliphants and String - A Tribble (Gollum/Smeagol)
This is excellent! I'd love to see this expanded. The sound of it is just great--very compelling!
Author's reply
Wow - expand Gollum? I really really have a difficult time with this character! Bad to the bone... have no doubt about that. But at one time truly loved... *shivers*

· Chapter 4: Amidst the Flowers - A Drabble (Arwen)
I have always wondered a little why Arwen despaired in grief, but it appears she most certainly did. This is a lovely little tribute to her!
Author's reply
Thank you! Maybe THAT is the real reason PJ decided to give her a little more to do in the movie! *giggles*

· Chapter 3: Hide And Seek - A Drabble (Boromir/Faramir)
I'm glad he was thinking of his brother then; one of those 'life passes before your eyes' moments. A very brave Man.
Author's reply
There had to be incredible sorrow at that moment.
PS - I think he was a very brave man too - doughty!

· Chapter 2: Late - A Drabble (young Denethor)
Ah, poor guy. It looks as if he was ever troubled in mind and spirit--which is usually the case with overly ambitious Men. I felt quite sorry for him here.
Author's reply
I'm glad you felt sorry for him - for something drove the man - I know not if it was ambition... or despair, even early on in life.

:D
This is great! Sometimes orcs can be quite entertaining!
I am quite enjoying your drabbles!
Author's reply
Thank you - I could not but wonder what happened at the bottom of the well - and my quirky sense of humour took over!

· Chapter 13: Choices - A Double Drabble (Thorongil)
Another alternative reason. And it could be all too true.
Author's reply
Wish I knew what story really ran through Tolkien's mind as he wrote of Thorongil's departure!

· Chapter 12: On The Stairs of Moria - A Double Drable (movie verse) (Boromir on the steps in Moria)
Definitely movie-verse, but a good one.
Author's reply
*giggles* I got the biggest kick that poor PJ got stuck with this moment - in the cast commentaries (I think) it states that Howard Shore drew the picture with the gash in the stairs and a lightbulb went off in PJ's mind.
Isn't that the way it is with authors too? Aren't we just at the mercy of the Muse!!!
Thanks for commenting!

Yes--that winged helm would be something to giggle over! Heh!
Author's reply
I love the pictures different artists have used to portray these helms... especially those guarding the White Tree. Hilarious... I'm pretty sure Boromir finally saw the fun of it and joined Faramir in laughter!

The grounds were beautiful. His master had an heir and Beregond had peace.

· Chapter 10: A Lost Comrade - A Quadrabble (Boromir/Faramir/Denethor)
Oh Agape...This is so..so...*right*. I lost my Puss Puss close to three years ago this summer and where Faramir and Boromir buried their dog is so close to what we did w/Puss Puss. He loved this one tree and that's where he's sleeping now. Just as w/Faramir's dog, it was the right place for him.
This is so sad, but also very, very right. Thanks for sharing it w/us.
Author's reply
I can't even count the number of pets that got buried in the back yard. Most were budgies and lizards and such. Unfortunately, we had 'large' dogs - so we could not bury them ourselves. That is very sad.
I'm very glad this touched you... I hope it helps in the healing! Friends sharing things like this always help!

· Chapter 10: A Lost Comrade - A Quadrabble (Boromir/Faramir/Denethor)
I, too, can see this all too well. Have buried so many love pets over the years.
Author's reply
Isn't that the truth, Larner. Too many pets... so much love... but they gave so much of themselves... that's the best things about pets... they just keep giving till the very end!

· Chapter 9: Of Airs and Heirs - A Drabble (Beregond)
Yes, reason to rejoice, and for one who deserved peace now, and who in his way sacrificed so much to receive it.

I do so love the tale of Beregond - but what happened to his son? Lots of sacrifices all the way around... hope Pip was able to help the boy!

· Chapter 8: Ent-Draught - A Drabble (Treebeard)
Oh, how I always love to see a story with the Ents in it, especially our Treebeard. Hasty? Perhaps. But not wrong--they did brighten things during their stay. And the more mature draft would be better, of course....
Author's reply
Hasty indeed - delightful Hobbits... and I'm glad you enjoyed the Ents!

Again, so well done! And I had no idea it would be Beregond :-)

Don't you just love when the Muse does that!!!

· Chapter 8: Ent-Draught - A Drabble (Treebeard)
Wonderful! I'm sure the old Ent did miss those two imps. They have this tendancy to endear themselves to those who meet them.
You are good at these, Agape!
Author's reply
Thank you, Pearl *blushes* - I enjoy doing them - they are definitely a lesson in discipline. And I agree - those two irrascible Hobbits would endear themselves to all but Orcs *shudders at the thought of their journey towards Isengard*

A greaat-nephew to prove that the linage of love contines on, in spite of the losses.

Somehow - that is the thing I have to continually remind myself - that life goes on - and beautifully - if one can look beyond the sorrow and loss....

· Chapter 5: Oliphants and String - A Tribble (Gollum/Smeagol)
That desire for control that led him to name a frog an oliphaunt! A shuddery tale!
Author's reply
Hmmm - never thought of it as desire for control - but yes, that is what the Ring gave him, wasn't it??? *shivers*
