Cuthalion · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

“You always think I need washing up,” Aragorn chuckled. He got to his feet, as did Elladan. “And I’m always right,” Frodo grinned. “Please come in, both of you. Bilbo will be so delighted.” Note to self: It needs a hobbit to get a scruffy ranger into a presentable state. *grins* Delightful, my dear Janet. And Sam's reaction at the sight of Elladan was very sweet - and very Sam! Cúthalion

Author's reply

Thank you! Yes, if Aragorn wants to stay scruffy, he needs to stay far away from Bag End, doesn't he? :)

Tigger · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

*squee!!!!* I was wondering how long a wait there would be when you mentioned this over at LJ. Happy it wasn't as long as I thought it might!!! :oD That was just too adorable a beginning. Of course the puppies would be a bit more cautious than Scamp. Scamp *knows* Aragorn is trustworthy in the utmost, but did have to giggle the pups went first to his bootlaces. :oD Sam has seen his first Elf...That was fantastic!! Wonder just how much his mind will be on his chores. ;o) I love how much just in this first chapter you've touched on the previous stories in this universe. Good thing the last little while I've been re reading them. Now...Let's get on w/this and bring on the adventure!!! :oD

Author's reply

You're so sweet, Tigger. Thank you for such enthusiasm! *sends you yummy bootlaces with a puppy attached*

Elemmírë · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

A very promising beginning to what I know will amount to another wonderful Shirebound tale! :) (and one at that with Scamp!!!) I really enjoyed Sam's reaction to meeting Elladan. You write young Sam so well ... young Frodo too. I hope Bilbo feels better soon and I look forward to more. ~Elemmírë~

Author's reply

Thank you so much, what fun to be writing another Scamp tail/tale!

Pearl Took · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

Wonderful! Another adventure with Estel and the Hobbits! I'm looking forward to more :-)

Author's reply

Thank you, Pearl. I'm looking forward to planning more! :)

Andrea · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

“You always think I need washing up,” Aragorn chuckled. *Grins* Why is that so, I wonder ;-) And Yay for a new Shirebound Story! The title is very promising, and there are puppies in it! I'm looking forward to reading more, although I will be on holiday for a while. But I'll catch up with your story as soon as possible :)

Author's reply

Thank you, Andrea, I'm glad you're looking forward to more. I hope you have a lovely holiday. Puppies! :)

Elflingimp · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

Ah! A new story,I believe I will love this one as much as the last!

Author's reply

Awww, thank you, Elfingimp. What a sweet thing to say. I certainly hope you enjoy this one as much as I'm enjoying planning it. :)

harrowcat · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

Oh, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!! Another tale from Shirebound! And Elladan is here as well as puppies! And hurt and comfort of course! I did have to grin at my own perception of language though. To this Brit 'washing up' refers to doing the dishes and not so much to washing yourself! However, I am sure that Estel is happy to do both or either in Bag End.

Author's reply

Thank you for your enthusiasm, Harrowcat. (And I agree that Estel would be willing to 'wash up' in any way that is needed.) Elves and puppies and rangers, oh my! There's room in this 'universe' for everyone. *grins*

aprilkat · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

How delightful to see this story continuing. Estel's history with Frodo and the return of Scamp leave me in such a happy place! And bringing Elladan into the Shire makes Sam's dream come true!

Author's reply

Thank you so much. This is *my* "happy place", as well. Estel and Frodo both deserve to have had such a gentle friendship.

lbilover · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

Ooh, what joy to immerse myself in this world again! *happy sigh*

Author's reply

What a lovely thing to say. Thank you so much.

AspenJules · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

YAYAY!! You finally started posting it!! Ooooh, I like the changes you made - I don't remember Sam meeting Elladan before - didn't he drop out of the tree after Sam left? Hmmm, that's how I remember it anyway. I love the exchange between Estel and Frodo... but of course that's a large part of what makes your Quarantined universe so wonderful - their relationship. I also really enjoyed Elladan's assessment of Frodo, and the differences between his responses and Sam's. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's reply

Yay! I'm so glad to dive back into this happy world of Estel and his 'little one'.

Dreamflower · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

What a delightful and intriguing beginning! I love little Sam's reaction to Elladan! And it's going to be really interesting seeing Elladan become acquainted with his foster-brother's friends!

Author's reply

I'm so glad this feels intriguing! It's always a challenge to find new ways to send that fluff flying, you know. :)

cookiefleck · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

Ah, you are off to a great start! I can never get enough of Sam (and LOTR). This was very charming and easy to visualize as I read. Thanks! I hope Bilbo is feeling better soon.

Author's reply

Thank you, Cookie. I can't imagine *ever* getting enough of LOTR. I'll tell Bilbo you sent regards. :)

SurgicalSteel · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

*bounces* How wonderful to see this! The puppies, Elladan, Sam's reaction to meeting Elladan, Frodo displaying both his education and his wondeful manners - and hints of a bit of h/c? Just lovely!

Author's reply

Awww, I do appreciate bounces! Thank you. I'm very excited to be starting this at last.

Lily Baggins · 30 May 2007 · Chapter 1: An Elven Encounter

Oh, my gosh, what a wonderful start to this!!! I'm so happy to see Elladan there, as well . . . this is very intriguing. And of course, greatly enjoyed the meeting between Frodo and Aragorn---you even have a wee bit of h/c in there, don't you? :) I can't wait to read the next lovely chapter.

Author's reply

Well, there has to be a *wee* bit of h/c, you know. Just... just because. :) Thank you so much, Lily.
