Agape4Gondor · 3 September 2007 · Chapter 24: In Absentia

A resounding YES!!!! And a smile and a toast for Frodo - I very much liked this! Especially those who were ther for a free meal... ah! I would worry if I was at a free meal at Bag End - one never knows what could happen...

Author's reply

They'd still come! Are you kidding? Free food, hobbits...

Lindelea · 3 September 2007 · Chapter 23: Pledge

I'm with Merry.

Author's reply

Amen!

Lindelea · 3 September 2007 · Chapter 24: In Absentia

Absolutely perfect. Don't know how you do it, my dear.

Author's reply

*mumbles* 'Twarn't nothin'.

Larner · 27 August 2007 · Chapter 23: Pledge

A so-needed promise! I am glad he made it to Merry.

Author's reply

Eomer is not ordinarily on my radar (though I like him), so I'm glad I was requested to write him.

Agape4Gondor · 27 August 2007 · Chapter 23: Pledge

Oh my goodness! This is beautiful. I love Eomer's pledge! Awesome. *drat - tears in my eyes while at work*

Author's reply

Oh good, I made you cry! I mean, there, there. :-)

Agape4Gondor · 27 August 2007 · Chapter 22: Faramir's Choice

I shivered at Isildur's Bane! As Faramir must have. I loved the 'dance.' Very nicely put. And a very nice, though sad drabble. At least, sad for Frodo - I wonder if he secretly wished that Faramir would keep him, send him to the city. Ah, but very good for Middle-earth.

Author's reply

I always thought that, at least once Faramir finally had all the facts, he had a lot of sympathy and respect for Frodo, and was sad to have to let him go on into darkness.

Lindelea · 22 August 2007 · Chapter 22: Faramir's Choice

O excellent! (I keep forgetting about your trivia contest until I see the prize.)

Antane · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 22: Faramir's Choice

Faramir sees clearly, doesn't he? Another who sees Frodo's light. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Yes, that's probably what he meant when he said Frodo had an elvish air.

Larner · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 22: Faramir's Choice

Excellent--and sparing himself the fate of his brother in that one moment of choice. Wonderful evaluations of these two odd wanderers.

Author's reply

Faramir has always been a favorite of mine -- book Faramir, that is.

Agape4Gondor · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 21: Breaking Fast

Aw - so sweet and yet heart-breaking.

Author's reply

Thanks.

Agape4Gondor · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 20: Wheels Within Wheels

Aw! Come on, Pip - leave poor Boromir alone! Seriously - this was fun...

Author's reply

Boromir was probably giving Frodo that "I want the Ring" stare, so Pippin saved him by tripping him!

Agape4Gondor · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 19: A True Friend

I love this.... it has ever been apparent to me that Frodo did not quite see what a treasure he had in Sam before the Quest began. I remember his amazement at something Sam had sung or known (can't remember what now - but Frodo was surprised!) Thanks for sharing this!

Author's reply

Exactly -- there are tons of slash fics where Frodo and Sam were soulmates from their first meeting, but canon doesn't support it. Not that canon ever stopped anybody...

Agape4Gondor · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 18: The Path That Need Chooses

This is sadly lovely. I personally cannot believe Merry & Pip wouldn't cajole Frodo into a boat earlier than this - if only to play and fish and such, but the idea is very good and the drabble is very well-written. Tugged at my heart. I loved the squaring of the shoulders.

Author's reply

I don't know about the cajoling...Frodo is *awfully* stubborn, plus he could have played the "I'm the older cousin" card. "No, that's fine, I'll watch." Anyway, just one possibility. :-)

Agape4Gondor · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 16: At the Coronation

Nice! I love the questions he asks.

Author's reply

Thanks!

Agape4Gondor · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 15: Master

Oh my goodness - this was chilling... especially that last line...

Author's reply

Well, I needed three more words... ;-)

shirebound · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 22: Faramir's Choice

he plays this dance of words well and wisely Nicely put. This is a great POV.

Author's reply

Thanks -- that was how I always imagined Faramir felt during that conversation with Frodo.

Antane · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 21: Breaking Fast

What a relief it must have been to them, to have gone through hell and come out on the other side, still together. A lovely little piece. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thanks so much. :-)

Lindelea · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 21: Breaking Fast

I keep forgetting about your weekly contest! LOL! But I'm glad for it, all the same... reaping the benefits of others' labours.

Author's reply

I wonder at times who's laboring and who's reaping!

Agape4Gondor · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 14: Impression

This is such a telling line. Very nice indeed. 'I need no introductions to tell me which is the bearer of the burden.'

Author's reply

"Hmmm...could it be the one who looks the most tired?" :-) Seriously, I do think that Glorfindel and other Elves were able to perceive Frodo's specialness from the start.

Agape4Gondor · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 13: Suit Yourself

Delightful!

Author's reply

Hobbits are so fun to write! Thanks for all your comments, BTW.

Agape4Gondor · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 8: Between Here and There

I love this one.

Larner · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 21: Breaking Fast

Yes, the real breaking of the fast, the undoing of the starvation, the rejoicing at the return to life and awareness simply stated.

Author's reply

I don't think either one of them looked at food in quite the same way ever again.

Agape4Gondor · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 4: Son of My Heart

This was very nice indeed! 'Is this what all fathers feel, this helpless, fierce love that takes away my breath and almost frightens me with its intensity?'

Author's reply

It can indeed be frightening to love somebody so much...especially when it's a child whose well-being is in your hands. I'm glad this seemed to resonate for people.

eiluj · 30 July 2007 · Chapter 21: Breaking Fast

Very perceptive of you! Yes, that would be their reaction to good plain (invalid) food. [That's "invalid" as in "sick patient" rather than "not valid."]

Author's reply

I knew what you meant. Never heard of "non-valid" food, though for me beets and anything with teriyaki would definitely count. :-) Thanks!

lotrgirl1415 · 29 July 2007 · Chapter 21: Breaking Fast
